I freely admit that I'm addicted! And proud of it! I only wish that I could do the designing, too. I'm hoping that I can start playing around with Photoshop this summer after my grad school classes are over. Maybe then I can contribute more then just comments.

We have that set for Davis (the under construction). I love Olive Kids! I got it here for him. He LOVES it. The boys room is done in a "vehicle" theme with trucks, cars, trains, airplanes, and CONSTRUCTION (his all time favorite!). I think we own every single truck made by Tonka. My brother owns a crane company (builds skyscrapers) and my BIL is a Civil Engineer and builds roads. Think he comes by it naturally.

Oooh! I just found this set. I love it. Looks too cool!

We're still on the fence what to do. I did find a cars and trucks quilt at Pottery Barn Kids that is an Internet only pattern but it is quite expensive to do all the pieces. I showed Kyle 3 designs (the Olive Kids, Pottery Barn cars and Pottery Barn trains) and he picked the trains. He does love his GeoTrax trainset that Santa brought but his whole life revolves around cars (especially Yellow Hummers).

I am so torn because I love the Pottery Barn stuff but am not sure if I want to spend the money on it since we have already spent $3K on new furniture and a mattress

What dates are you leaning towards? I'm still swinging between Nov 30 to Dec. 6th or the 3rd to the 11th.

My problem is I want my sister to have an uncrowded park, but I also want to do Mousefest, and Mousefest is at the end of Pop Warner week. So I'm thinking, PW and Mousefest = crowds and this is her first trip....

I can't imagine her getting up for a park opening, so we will arrive when the masses do.... Oh the stress of it.

So, you still have the in-laws coming? Hopefully you will be in a different resort. I can't tell you what a blessing it is to me that my son-in-law and daughter-in-law both love me and like being around me...

My children-in-law asked for me to find out about renting a house down in Virgina Beach in early June. I dunno. I'm so glad that both tinker1bell and I are asked to share vacations with our children and grandchildren. We're cool grannies.... And we have that don't interfere stuff down to a science.

I am going to hope and pray that you end up with the vacation of your dreams. Please do like Marti said and build the vacation you want, and let the rest follow you. That's what I'm going to do.....

OK, this is the reason I wasn't posting last night because the trip drama continues. DH is getting so fed up that he almost wants to cancel the trip outright because he is so sick of all the drama

Airfare has finally come down for our original dates of December 10-17. This is when I want to go because it is after Pop Warner and I think it would be a great way to really get in the Christmas spirit just before the holiday. This is also the best time for DH. He is a Civil Engineer for Chicago's largest Road Construction Company and the job he is just about to start has a Nov 30 completion. That gives him 2 weeks for delays, paperwork etc.

When we originally invited DH's parents to come with us, those were the dates. There was never any discussion of it-everything was fine. Fast forward 3 months and DH's sister and her family decide to tag along. They are on a very tight budget so I am surprised they want to come at all. First thing SIL does is demand to change the dates. She wants to go Dec 1-8 (Fri to Fri) so she can be there for her daughter's 2nd birthday. DH does not want to go Fri to Fri because that means he has to use 6 vacation days and not 5 (like we would for our dates 12/10-12/17 Sun to Sun). We do not want to go then because of Pop Warner since we really want to stay at POR again and that is where a lot of the kids are. MIL is now being a pain about the Sun to Sun dates because her work week is Sun to Saturday and she claims that she can only take off for a full week at a time and that would mean she has to take off 2 weeks right before Christmas and the store won't let her (she works for a grocery store). Personally I think this is a bunch of houey (did I spell that right? )

DH finally told his mom last night that we are going 12/10-12/17. He suggested that they go 12/9 to 12/16 (Sat to Sat) or go 12/10 to 12/16 (Sun to Sat) so she is still back for the week before Christmas at the store and if his sister wants to come with that she is just going to have to change her dates to match our trip or go on her own at the beginning of the month. He reminded her (AGAIN!!!) that this was our vacation that we invited everyone to come along on and we shouldn't have to compromise our dates since we picked them to best meet our needs. He gave everyone 2 weeks to figure out what they want to do because we are booking our trip (Including the non-refundable airfare) at the end of the month.

After talking to her for about 90 minutes last night over the course of 2 phone conversations he looked at me and said he wished he never agreed to go on this trip and is now so anti-Disney that he is trying to nix our plans for our 10th anniversary trip in '07 and for Kyle's bday in '08

Sorry this was such a long post but this is causing so much heartache in our house that my excitement for the trip is down to virtually nothing (thank goodness it is 10 months away)

Stopping by to say "Hello" and introduce myself. I just stumbled on to this forum the other day and I am having the BEST time looking at all the great designs!!

I am an avid crafter from around the NYC area. I have a 4yo DS and an almost 1 yo DD. We are taking her to WDW to celebrate her first birthday in a couple of months.

I have usually made shirts for our past trips, but they are nothing like the designs that you guys have been coming up with.

Cold Stone would definitely help me! I LOVE that place, but the nearest one is in the city and we haven't been close to it for awhile. I miss having it 2 blocks away like when we were in CA. Have they come out with the new Cake Batter yet? That was my favorite and I having been hoping it will be out again by the next time I make it there.

Feel better! I totally understand the feeling.

They built one at the back of our subdivision this past summer- we can walk there!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cake batter is my all time favorite

Yuck! Here's hoping that it pans out QUICKLY, so you can be excited again! It sounds like your DH is sticking to his guns at least, which is a bonus (in my opinion). I think that's really what needs to happen, as others on here have said. YOUR family (immediate) needs to take their vacation and let others deal with meeting up with you if they can swing the dates, etc. I'm glad they were reminded that YOU all invited them to come along.... it wasn't something you are doing for them, etc.

I hope this passes quickly and your family is able to enjoy the planning and the trip the way it's meant to be done!

Kate - I just have to say this, and I hope it doesn't embarrass you, but if it does, oh well. You are the MOST INCREDIBLE PERSON I have ever "met". You have 2 kids, a busy husband, a busy life, and now here you are talking about making bags, you've designed literally thousands of shirt designs, behavior charts, maternity designs, the list could go on and on, but you get my drift. I am in complete awe of all you do and through it all you manage to inspire others, and to cheer us on and "take care" of us all. I truly have never known anyone like you, and that's a pity. It's too bad there aren't more people like you (and MANY, MANY others here on the DDA), the world would be a much better place to live! If only we could bottle you and spread you around. How glad I am that I was cruising the TPAS threads and found this board. I honestly don't know what my life would be like without it, and you and everyone else here. I feel blessed to know you all!!!!!!!!

I noticed the Steeler's in your signature!!!! My husband has not been very happy with me for the last few days because although I LOVE the Bengals, I LOVE Ben Roethlisberger!!!! I just think he is adorable, especially when he was on Letterman !!!! But even though I keep reminding DH that he is from Ohio, he still is not liking him too much or me either for that matter when I gush every time he is on TV.... Is this a problem that he is 6 or 7 years younger than me???

Can I send my MIL to you for lessons on how not to interfere and be cool, she is coming here for 3 months in summer and I have been dreading it since summer last year, if she was close enough to come for small trips it would be so much better for all concerned!!

I am going to need plenty of PD and extra prayers to get me thru those month, my SIL goes on medication when MIL goes there but I don't want to be driven to that!!!

I can't imagine 3 months.....
