Yay Glynis! I plan to wrap everything that I have next weekend, while the kids are with their dad. I still need to shop for my parents, which I have no idea what to get my mother. Any ideas what I can have the kids get their deadbeat dad? I'm going to let them pick out a cheap cologne and figure I should get one other thing.

I so miss going down and cutting down a fresh tree. I loved doing that as a kid.

Hi, all! I don't have much time right now, but I wanted to check in quickly.

We went out and cut our tree today. We'll put it up tomorrow and decorate on Tuesday. Everything has to fit in around other activities. I feel so behind the 8 ball at the moment!

Take care! I'll try to be back tomorrow.

Beth

I need to go shopping for some decorative curtain rods. I bought new curtains for the living room & dining room. Other than that, not much besides the usual. Exciting huh lol

We had a busy weekend. Emma's party was yesterday morning. I thought with 20 kids it was going to be crazy but it went so smoothly and everyone had a blast.
Here is a pic of everyone and their bears

After making the bears we had lunch in the mall with everyone and then cake. My niece wanted to spend the night with Emma so we headed home and Emma opened her gifts. The girls played and I took a nap. We then headed to my girlfriends and made Gingerbread houses.

Here is my niece

And my favorite~Molly ate more candy than she put on the house

Not much went on today, although I found out that my SIL, the one I can't stand, is pregnant. She says she took 2 home tests and really can't tell if she is or not but will find out for sure on Wednesday. She is the one in England and has one son. She has sworn up and down she was just having Alex so this is quite the oops. I think she is in denial!! It has really made my day, week, year. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that Alex will have a sibling as he is very lonely. He overhear Eric saying to Elaine that he would ship one of ours to her and Alex said "please send Emma!" I just know that this is so not in her plan and has thrown her for a loop. She is not very maternal, so I am surprised that they even have one.

Looks like you guys had fun! i love the picture with everyone and the bears!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I hope you get placed close to home and at a place that you'd like to be at.

I don't know what I was thinking but it's so hard to cut out kids as most of them are close family friends. 4 of the girls are from preschool and Emma has known them since she was 3. None of them go to the same school but we get them together a couple times a year and for bday parties.

All of the kids made their own bear. Most of them got outfits that their parents bought after we were done. They had us all done within an hour. But I never felt rushed.

Emma and I have made the gingerbread houses for the last 4 years. She loves it. I hate to report that our house didn't make it home in one piece.
My mom was carrying it out to our van and the tray broke and the house ended up on the driveway at my girlfriend's house. Thankfully the girls weren't too upset.

Hi Robyn. The pictures are great. 20 kids for a party...that is a lot! I'm glad it went well for you. Did the kids make the bears, or just get them? Did they get an outfit with them. We did the gingerbread houses last year, but I'm not sure we will do them again. I think I'd rather make something that can be eaten afterwards!!! It was fun to do it once though!

I was just telling dh I forgot to buy tape. I am ready to wrap & have it out of the way! This is the 1st time I have been ahead of the shopping.

We love french toast, would you mind sharing your recipe?

I'd love to! I have several versions tell me which you want:

Peach French Toast
Toffee Apple French Toast
Strawberry Banana French Toast

It's become a tradition for our Christmas breakfast! Alan likes to have a large breakfast on Christmas morning, but I was always tired after a LONG Christmas eve. So, now, I make the french toast the night before, then in the morning I put it in the oven, scramble some eggs, make some caramelized bacon, and make fresh orange juice. If I'm feeling really ambitious, I'll put together a fruit salad the night before and let it sit in the fridge. It makes for a yummy breakfast that I don't have to slave over!

Let me know which you want, and I'll get the recipe for you. It will have to be tomorrow, as Alan wants the computer.
