Ugh. Woke up with an aura and managed to fight it off...but a smoker sat 2 seats in front of me and the smell is making me nauseous. Blech.

Mo's last full day of school today. My baby's going to be an 8th grader tomorrow. :( It's going by way too fast.

Supposed to be stupid hot here today and tomorrow. Thank goodness for a/c!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Have a good day all!

Mornin!

Supposed to be horribly hot here all week... 90s and scattered storms... Past 2 days the storms came directly at us and then curved around us where we didn't see anything.. but a few blocks away got nailed!

Ok, let's see today's agenda:

Post office

once over house
clean out under the basement stairwell (storage)
go through and decide what t-shirts to use for the 3- tshirt quilts and see how many I have to do another one for PJ...

That's the majority of my list today...

I hate job hunting
oh well at least I got some shopping done - Payless is having a sale:cool1:
found some really cute heels in white that meets Samatha's requirments for heels (the sole has to be one piece - when you look at shoes & the toe area is different than the rest of the foot area - put it back on the shelf -- she swears that if they are different with that seem then your feet hurt from wearing them - anyone else where heels ever notice this??)

I think I'm going to go pick up the sewing room & see how many pairs of fun shoes I have now:rotfl2:

Finally made it back to another daily grind :cool1:

I had my 10 day post=op for my stomach surgery...still can't run/exercise but the countdown is on till I can... Aug 1st can't come soon enough.... ( Running is my sanctuary)

All 3 of the kids are sleeping so I should be up doing some of my daily chores...oh well haha we are having one of our afternoon thunderstorms so I'm enjoying the sound of the rain and quiet instead. We are having left over pasta and meatballs for dinner that was left from a baby shower yesterday ( yay free dinner).

I need to clean the litterbox and finish one of the twins tutu's. Those are my two small "goals" for the nap time today.. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

So excited!!!!

I have enough old t-shirts I saved to make 6 new t-shirt quilts!!

I can make a new one for DD from her senior year shirts... I didn't realize how many shirts we bought last year... or she bought them with her own money!

I can make DS17 his one for graduation and one for his youth sports...

I can make DS12 one from his youth sports..

I can make a youth one for me and DH of the kids' youth sports shirt! :woohoo:

I can also make a Disney t-shirt quilt for me!! It will have some solid color squares included and I tought I might add some iron-vinyl silhouettes... I have 2 ideas already from Jennifer's DTD Mickey/Minnie & Donald and Daisy LO.... Jennifer, where did you get those files??? can you point me in the right direction and what iron vinyl do I need?? PLEASE!!!

Now, my kids are going through all their stored school items to determine what to keep and what to toss.. I want all papers kept... then they can decide what to keep.. I have been taking photos periodically for a scrapbook LO... DS12 is working on his tote now.. DD will after dinner...and DS17 will tonight after soccer practice unless he crashes..then tomorrow before work....

I need this done so I can finish out my project down stairs...

I made those files. If you send me an email and remind me I'll send them to you. I got my vinyl online from H&H Sign. It's called Siser easy weed. There is a code for free shipping on your first order. I'll see if I can find it. Beware! It's addictive.

Are you making the quilts yourself or having someone do them? I want to get one made for M, but wondered at the cost?

Jennifer -

Thank you for the info.. I will send you an email today... if you wouldn't mind sharing those files.. I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thank you so much!!!!!

I have my mom or MIL make them.. I can't sew a stright line...

Here is the back down of cost:

3 spools - thread ( I over buy the thread: I think this will do all 6 of my quilts) - $4.00
quilt batting - I make full size quilts so I buy the roll of batting for a full size quilt at JoAnns... I got it 40% off so I only paid like $9.00
The border I used the quilt borders in the packages x 6 (probably over bought).. the are $1.99 w/o a coupon.. so we are stocking up on coupons now to start buying 4 every week.
Full size sheet - I put these on the back instead of fleece/or other t-shirts as that is what my kids asked for - $5 - $7
The fusible backing for the t-shirts before you cut them into the squares... I bought a bolt of it for - $10.00 ( you could use a coupon but of course I didn't have one when I bought it).. - I bought 15 yards this time for $8.00 w/ 40% off coupon..(they didn't have a bolt)

So, the grand total out of pocket is - $20 - $30.. I would say my out of pocket will be about $20 per quilt with the use of coupons...

Money will spent since you are recycling the t-shirts into a quilt they can remember their events with instead of donating or throwing all that t-shirt money away.....

PJ just loves here t-shirt quilt..and she said lots of kids wanted to talk about what each piece stood for and 2 showed their parents to have their moms make them one for Christmas.. PJ's goal over the next 4 years is to collect enough college ones to have one done after she graduates...
