Got our list emailed for next year's school supplies.. I have everything already but 2 items... now, girls.. I love my bargain shopping and penny sales at Staples... I think I'm just going to have to buy like I don't have anything cause it just wouldn't be back to school if I didn't!

I'm back from my quick jaunt to Big Lots. No new ones for my girls' lists.

Sorry, Ann. That so stinks. Good luck with the meds and the modified diet. (Of those, I'd have the toughest time with no cheese, too!)

Nan - you are so lucky to have "with it" schools. Here, we're lucky if we get the supply lists a day or two before school starts in September. Yep...AFTER all the supply sales which start in July... - oy! I usually buy stuff at the sales anyway, and hope for the best. Of course, there's always one or two insanely specific things..."a 1 1/2 inch red binder..." that I end up having to pay full price for that really steams me, but at least I save on the rest.

D did call to say they made it safely and the Dynamic Duo are checked in and making their way to Downtown Disney for the afternoon.

Nan, all I can say is WOW! I can't believe your school has already given you lists for next year. I always have a stock pile of school supplies hanging around, but my DS would be so upset if I told him I had everything already for next year when this year hasn't even ended!!!

Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes. My fingers are crossed that DH gets home at a decent time to go to dinner as he's been in Orlando for meetings and is driving back today. And, can you believe he was that close to Mickey and wouldn't go give him a hug for me????

We use get the supply list early....but it's the book rental costs that we never know about til the week before it's due... I despise book rental....I've got it already budgeted (guesstimation of cost).. DH and I will keep one arm and one leg a piece! LOL

DIT ~ what was he thinking? He could have run over on his lunch hour... or just skipped out on that afternoon mtg all together.. priorities!!! (well, maybe he is thinking..college education! LOL)

Thanks guys. I knew I would need meds eventually. I was just hoping to put it off a little more.

I did not know I would have to give up my major food group. I eat cheese at every meal. My salads are going to be a little plain now.

Nan- We always got the lists early too. But that book stuff always was a trial!!

My DS21 (who will be 22 on Monday) and DH are out car shopping for him. He is getting something, and DS18 will move into his van... I hope they can find something!

Yes, in the state of Indiana we still "RENT" our books...

One book DS13's 7th grade year...had about 200 pages missing.. it was printed that way!!!

I think some of the books have been paid for 10 times over.....
Sometimes we pay for workbooks but there is NOT enough to go around..and the kids can NOT write in them; instead on a separate sheet of paper...and they must stay in the classroom... Wouldn't upset me so much if we didn't pay full price for them and then NEVER see them. Heck, last year one of DD's classes didn't have enough hardback books... It was a major class too.. biology!

More than enough.. as long as you don't mind riding w/ 3 kids, as we are driving to safe money... But DH has tie straps we can tie them to the top of the car if need be! LOL

Crazy day today-finally finished packing & dropped the kids off at the in-laws.
We're finally on our way!
Sitting in crazy traffic right now on the way to the airport. Should be landing in Orlando around 7. Hope everybody has a great holiday weekend!
