Last night we went shopping for PJ's NHS Senior Sponsor... got her a lot of stuff blew the budget but that's okay... anyway, we bought PJ a Grad flag for her truck... It's says "Princess Grad" and has a tiara and is pink & black polka dots.. it's cool!!!

DD#1 has counseling, here in town today. ya!! first time ever!!

Bed early.

Dr appt went great!

He was happy w/ all my numbers except thyroid levels... and even with the cruise last week, his scale shows a 20lb weight loss! And I was BAD on my cruise :rolleyes1

Yay Deb!!!! Good for you :)

It's been a yucky morning around here--I have a migraine (stupid weather ) so I took my meds and went back to bed!

Sarah has had a great week! On Monday she got her ACT scores (which were amazing!!!) on Tuesday she got a personalized letter (in FAT envelope) with lots of info from her #1 chioce school--she's very excited :goodvibes Now we just have to figure out how to pay for a private, out of state, small, liberal arts college ;)

My list:

Finish cutting letters for ride swap
Look up Sarah's college choice on the internet and plan a visit
Order scholarship list book
Laundry
Dinner--kids choice
Girls have another concert at a downtown jazz club tonight

Have a great day all :flower3:

Congrats to Sarah!!!

PJ takes her SAT/ACT's in June.. she'll be brain drained for a while! LOL
She got an email from her first choice college the other day again reminding her to submit her app early for early admission... they have been following her grades and just think she's a perfect fit...

Ok, the cricut stopped.. must mean it's time for another set to put in for cutting!!!

That's so cool for PJ :) How did the election go?

One more proud momma moment for today--Sarah was selected as the drum major for the hs marching band :banana: It is the first time in several years that they only have 1 drum major, usually there are 2 and sometimes 3. She's going to be a busy girl!

Elections are still going on because the teacher hasn't counted them today.. There is a total of 60 kids to vote..and all of them say they have voted.. so they don't know whats going on.. but this isn't the first, second or third issue of irresponsiblity the kids have seen from this sponsor.. :(

Congrats to Sarah.. I've been watching all day to see if they made the right choice... :) She is going to be very busy..but it is going to be such an experience for her!!!!!!:woohoo::yay: I miss my marching days.. I marched all through high school and even marched in college!!! Yes, I was in the HS and college color guard (flag corps)!!! Captain @ my HS for 3 years and Captain in college my senior year (there were only 3 seniors so we co-co-co captained!)

I am so excited for her!!!!! I miss marching too; I was drum major my senior year, but, it was totally different "back in the day". Most of the schools in this area march drum & bugle corps style it's so cool to watch.

It's sad the NHS has a not so responsible sponsor :sad2: We have a few of those at our school too. I hope PJ gets her answer tomorrow

Congrats to all the teens- we just have such responsible and hard working young people on this board, obviously a great reflection on their parents.

Rebecca

Cheryl, congratulations to Sarah!!!! She's had a great week! Way to go Sarah!!!!!

Nan, that's wonderful that PJ's 1st choice is so interested in her. Way to go PJ!!!

Deb way to go with the weight loss :worship:

Cheryl, so happy for Sarah! such a wonderful girl you have raised! good luck with all the college details...where is the college? She's going to have a busy Senior year!..hope your migraine is better too!!

Nan, hope PJ gets the vote answer today! sorry about the yucky sponsor!

Rachal, hope your headache went away, how did counseling go ?

I survived the beach trip....need to remember to bring my ear plugs when we go to camp next month! my challenge boy did really good, very proud of hm! listened and stayed by me the whole trip!!

Right now her top choice is Oberlin in Ohio. We're trying to convince her that something cheaper & closer to home might be a better choice. She wants to major in marine biology and minor in music. She plans to "save the ocean" and do musical theater on the side :) Ahhh to be 17 again and be able to dream without reality creeping in ;)

that's a great ambition for her!
Ohio has marine biology? are they close to water at the college?
that's what keeps our country going....dreams of our children! everything will work out! good luck finding scholarships!

Well, Cheryl.. is she decides to head to Ohio... both Annie (AWM) and myself are able to get to her as quick as our vans can get us there.... I do understand about the closer to home issue.. Our eldest son (my DsS) wanted to go to FL... his mom took him down..but the amount of oop expense was awful.. He goes in-state and loves it...

17 and to be able to see the possiblities over the reality of life... those were the days!
