~The Daily Grind~ 3/9/10

Yesterday I went for a walk when I came home. First time in several years! I got the choc pup, and DS18 even came with us. I didn't think I could make it, and it just made me more determined. I used to do this lap 3x! I was walking a 15min mile back then. It took me over 30min to do one this time!

GREAT JOB! Keep up the good work!

DD placed 2nd in her meet yesterday for a mile.. she ran a 7min mile and beat her personal best from XC mile this past fall!!! ROCK ON!! She was so excited.. They have a state qualifier today and her dumb coach told her and several others he'll let them know by noon if they are running today or not.. MORON, seriously!

YEAH for your daughter! OF COURSE she will go to state!

I fixed it!

Remind me to slowly torture my DH later. He turned the thermostat off yesterday. I'm sure I told him to never ever do that. It got all messed up and somehow the furnace got turned off too? Well, I replaced the batteries, and went down and hit the reset button the furnace (I always freak doing that, wondering if it will blow up) and it fired! Hallelujah!

Oh, and I figured out why I lost it over a pair of shoes yesterday. My long lost friend showed up this morning. Thought I had abandoned her last year! Evil wench.

GOOD JOB, Jennifer! Yes, you do deserve dinner! As for your 'friend' - trust me - sooner or later, she will be gone for good! Post Menoppause is GREAT!

Okay off to have and arguement with the gravel pit...................... decided to let the truck driver do it. We're bringing in hard pack and have GC that are old yes they are old but NH is a no expriation state for under $100 and over they have to legally be turned over to the state as abandoned property. the guy is a brat and doesn't like me guess he'll like me less now :confused3. Off to spread gravel (with the tractor).

GO CHRISTY! Dang! What a bunch of capable women we all are! Think about THAT the next time that little voice in your head qvetches at you!

The neurologist says I'm doing very well and don't really need to come back to see her any more - can just keep going to my regular primary care doc. She says it could take 3-6 more months for "all" of my pre-crash cognitive/attention abilities to return. But, the good news is that she believes it will all eventually come back. Just will take (more) time...

WONDERFUL!

Not much news here.

gym and pool
make breakfast
run errands
library
make lunch
nap
computer time

yet to do
make supper
stamping practice.

Pam short story is a few years ago we got some gift certificates to a local gravel pit ( remember were on the nh/vt line) and the pit is in NH well in NH gc's are not allowed to expire if the value is under 100 and if over 100 dollars then the money is turned over to the state as unclaimed property. He might be able to get away with it because they were a donation to an auction so there for the pit got no money (but used it on their taxes as such I'm sure. Either way I need the gravel and I had asked him over the past 4 years 2-3 times a year to deliver it and he never had. this guy is a jerk and doesn't like me so I thought it best to let our friend who is the truck driver deal with him. If the anser is still no I could be a real witch and go above him in the company and push the fact that he never had it delivered and go with that.

we have a long flat between our house and the father in laws house that needed gravel that is what started the whole process. smacking head on wall again.:headache:

Thanks for the vote of confidence.. however, the goof of a coach told her at noon today that she didn't need to attend the meet.. because he thought the girl he expected back to school by 2pm from a convention would be back. However, she had not yet returned when the bus was pulling out at 4pm... (several kids texted her to find out where she was...they are all mad that he told her he didn't need her when infact they desperately need her today.. ;()

Old lady is :mad::mad: on your daughter's behalf. Hopefully the coach will be the recipient of a few pointed messages from the principal, BOE, parents, other team members when the team suffers because of her absence.

nan that coach needs a good brick up side the head. Hopefully PJ isn't to dissapointed.

To quote Red from That 70s Show "dumba$$" coach!

I got a lot done on my list today. I even got to watch my boyfriend Ryan Reynolds in a movie. Num yummy!

I did not get dinner out, I had dinner out last night (on my sister), after we weighed in. DH made a lovely Orange Beef with Broccoli for dinner tonight. Very good.

Please to be kicking track coach for me too. Stoopid. Let's call him Mr. DUMASS.

Yay!! Site council meeting cancelled. Still got not too much done this afternoon.:lmao: Killing time until Parents Club Meeting.

DD just arrived home from school so will chat with her as Little One is napping.

:woohoo:Grading Plan submitted to County today!!:woohoo:

I don't understand why the coach decides that one person should run and the other shouldn't attend. Isn't the Track and Field Team a team where all participate? :confused3

Jennifer, I had the same reason as you why DD was plucking my nerves. It continued today but I directed it toward others. pirate:

My to do list:

Wood in the woodstove
Write in DD's communication book
Load of darks in the wash, dryer
Load of whites in the wash
Caffeinate
Work
Schedule DD's dentist appt
Go to Staples for odds and ends
Check in with Mom, all is well. :thumbsup2
Stop at the pharmacy
Dinner - chicken quesadillas made with Sunday's leftover roaster
Pick up DH's car, it had a new starter put in it
Oversee tubby time
Time on the bike
Priced out a new laptop :surfweb:

..Sunscreen pig? I think I'd rather feed the rat...

But good thing I didn't have to tonight!!! Hahah.

I'm furious... but you know when their in HS you are supposed to let them fight their battles.. She is..she has a meeting set up w/ the AD tomorrow to discuss! LOL This coach upsets me more because when PJ started running in 6th grade she was the only girl in her grade (still is in XC but not track..anyway)... he made a point to encourage her and tell her how he looked forward to seeing her progress in HS... She started running for him in HS, progressed and then he turned his back on her... ERRRRRRRR

Yes, he does need to have his placed back where it was intended to be instead of where it is currently located!!! (got PJ to snicker on that one!)... PJ said it's their lost and if they didn't qualify he can't blame her.. However, she does hope they qualify for the sake of the other 3 girls who are her friends..

Yes, usually it is.. however these state qualifiers aren't... don't ask me.. I'm just as confused as you are... We have like 8 meets this year and only 3 are at home.. so I'll be doing some major traveling this year if I'm able to go w/ the boys' commitments... The kicker is PJ wants to focus on the 2 mile race.. of which she is the ONLY kid willing to run that for either the boys or the girls.. so why not allow her to run it and know that race has a runner who is qualified and loves to run... :headache:

Thanks for all the support, it makes her smile!!!

OOOOOOOHHHH, ok. Momma Brooke needs to get a hold of that coach! How dare he do that to my niece?? Tell her I'm coming to fight him with her!! :thumbsup2

Nan I could find any number of piles of smelly stuff to put in his tailpipe of his car. Whoops did I type that. This guy sounds like L's science teacher.

I'm glad to hear the PJ is scheduling a meeting right off the bat on this. And I'm sure she will come out on top.

Thanks all... the team qualified but not by much... like the skin of their teeth qualified..
She is anxious for the meeting tonight... it may not do much but it will at least allow her to get it off her chest and move on....

And she is standing up for herself. THIS is the priceless part.

(You've done well, mama!)
