~The Daily Grind~ 3/4/10

Today is the Flower Show for me :teeth: I get my annual shot of spring, come home with a little sompthin...maybe a bonsai this year...

My list for today:

Caffeinate- this repeats everyday!!
smiley_drinkcoffee.gif

Keep my word kinder

ATM for some cash

Go pick up BFF at 0830 and head up to Philly

Try not to make that same wrong turn I make every year...sigh...

Enjoy the show, and the feeling of spring...

Lunch at the show... try to keep to my points! I didn't do so well point wise yesterday for dinner. DH cooked yummies and I ate larger than I should have portions.

Not pushing any timeclock today, so going to enjoy the day off!

Have a Great Day everyone!! :teeth:

Pity party for me... but I was so ticked off!!

Yesterday I had another run in with the boss... some people are just so moody, and this was one of his days again. Instead of using a question I asked as a teaching opportunity with the new machine, he made me feel like I was stupid. To the point of asking me if I was trained at all, and he was rude about it. Jerk...I was so upset! And the best part, is when he further investigated, he found out I had been told 2 different things, and I wanted him aware of it. I just wanted clairfication from HIM as to how HE wanted it. That was the only reason I asked him anything in the first place.

He later came back out and tried to backtrack when he realized I had been told 2 different things. And he realized there is a problem, and not everyone is doing things the same way, which was all I was trying to tell him in the first place. But the damage was done. Just when he was almost being human, he reminded me again that some people just aren't...ever. Now I have to go back to being on my guard again... and it was really nice being relaxed for a couple of weeks...but it never lasts.

OK, vent over. I'm so glad I'm off today, I need the break! But the funny thing is he took off today too, and is going to the Flower Show! Cross you fingers I don't see him today!

Some people don't have the greatest people interaction skills, and it sounds like your boss is one of them. I'm sorry it upset you so! I wonder if there is a way you could rephrase your question to give hime more information before you ask it? ie - Magda told me to do this X, but Sue said Y, Do you have a preference?

(As an adhd-er, I'm a "blurter" from way back, so I can understand how the boss gets his foot in his mouth - been there done that:rolleyes1)

Let's see. today, I will

Go for a walk and or do the boxing video
make chicken and leek soup
finish the card samples
I dunno what else, but I'll be busy all day.

Have a good one!

Deb - have a marvelous day at the flower show! I'll be thinking about you! (Maybe the experience will chill out Mr. FootInMouth too....)

Lisa - so sorry to hear about the kitten. What terrible news. I've got to try and take our dog to the vet today or tomorrow. He's had this bump under his eye for two weeks now (started just as a flat pinprick dot and now is a bright red warty looking growth) just under his lower eyelid. His eye doesn't seem affected, but...? A first dog is like the first kid, you just don't know when to panic or not when something medical comes along!

Otherwise, general chores to reclaim the kitchen and house and back to work on the MK swaps. :yay: Busy night - DD's school "Night of Excellence" (leaving early) AND a Girl Scout meeting - (getting there a bit late?) the girls are attending a fun/interesting lecture on bees and honey by a local expert.

morning all

Basketball season is finally over!!!

Deb have fun at show

Debbie, I hope you have a fantastic time at the flower show.

My day:
Make DH's lunch
DS up and off to school
Laundry
Call vet's office to see if they have any of the prescription catfood one of my cats is supposed to eat. DS feeds them and didn't mention we were getting low. He waited until we were out and usually the vet's office has to special order the flavor my cats like. My fingers are crossed that they ordered extra last time.
Go pick up catfood - I'll have to get the other flavor if they don't have the right one. I can't starve the babies.
Work on MK swap
Stitch - if I can hold my q-snaps with my sore arm. I'm working on a big project so the q-snaps are big. May have to switch to something small for awhile.
Work
Dinner - soup & sandwiches
Watch Survivor!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning :surfweb: I really wish I could go back to bed. I guess I could and no one would know, but I just can't.

Deb - ohhhhhhh, flower show. I'm jealous. Have fun.

I really need to get my butt in gear and do somethings today. Hoping if I have a long enough list, I might actually do something off it.

shower and get ready
make bed
tidy main floor
vaccum

apply for some jobs
scrap 4 pages
work on school swap
start spring cleaning - maybe my bathroom,
ds diving meet
walk dog
dust main floor

I guess that should keep me busy. Have a great day everyone :thumbsup2

Mornin' all!! ;)

Debbie, sorry about your jerk of a boss... perhaps when you pass a dirt pile you can think about tossing him in head first... Some people.. :( This is why I tell dh I should not go back into the work force...being at home for so long.. I'd be furious and open my mouth to get me in trouble... Enjoy your day away from the dufus!

Lisa - so sorry to hear about your kitty.

:dog: Crap - the dog is scheduled for surgery a week from today. :dog:

The vet didn't like the look of the under-the-eye growth and did the pre-op blood work today ($$$- yoikes! - now can't imagine what the surgery's gonna cost, but they will call with an estimate...). She's concerned that there's also not much space to work with to stitch things back up, but hopes the growth doesn't get much bigger in a week, otherwise, she'll have a real hard time finding enough skin to close the cut up.

She thinks it PROBABLY is something benign, and will send it out for a biopsy, but also told me to mentally prepare for something more serious, just in case. She's encouraged that he is only three years old, but still...sigh. Poor guy.

Pixie Dust that it will be an easy surgery for the little pup.

Pam, sorry about the doggy surgery. I hope all goes well for him.

I'm excited!!!! Starting this month, Michaels is going to have a crop night once a month. It'll be the last Friday of the month. It's outside of my normal working hours/availability, but my manager asked if I'd like to be the employee who works it each month. He said he figured I'd be there so why should I pay the $5 to attend when he could pay me to be there!

Busy day! Somehow I ended up hoeing out the corner in the dining room that holds my "stuff" for scrapping...Then I had a babysitting gig with Sophie the adorable baby (who has reflux, yay - a diagnosis - and is now on baby Zantac and is already doing wonderful!).

Day got away from me, but I managed to get 4 loads of laundry done, and my kitchen is clean.

I'm having my ice cream treat while Survivor is on ;)

I hope everyone had a good day!
