The Daily Grind ~ 2/5/14

Well, hello Wednesday! I hope today is calm unlike yesterday evening..

Had a scare last night with DS17 driving home... there was only a dusting on the road when he texted he was on his way home.. I get a text he slid what does he do... where are you... he is 3 turns from the house... I take off running to him, yes, running in the snow w/ coat, hat, gloves, phone & DS13we got him home and he broke down.. this is my kid who never shows emotion... he is a rock.... I was so proud of him for remaining calm.

Our school just called for the day on facebook but have yet to receive the official call.

DH's flight got delayed in ATL not once but twice... so far it is on time to land this morning at 9am... then he will have to attempt to get home...

We have at least 7" on the ground if not more... DD had some snow but more ice...I last spoke to her at midnight and she sent a picture of her little tree in front of her window and the poor little thing's branches were starting to bend down... need to see if she has a delay or not...

Ok, today's agenda:

try to rest/let the boys rest (don't sleep well when DH is not here and I wanted to check on DS17 a few times)
check on DS17 -- he is fine... but want to monitor him...
check status on DD... -- colleges usually only delay and she lives 5 minutes from campus on a bad day...(literally she has to cross a street to go to class)
DS17 to write journal 3 entry/ start on paper 2 and rewrite paper 1
DS13 to finish his book that needs returned
scrap.. I need to scrap.. therapy is in order today

Cassey -- I hope you were able to stay home today and work... don't let him guilt you into driving --- I know easy for me to say....but safety first!

Good Morning!

Prayers and pixie dust to all those in need.

Nan, glad DS is safe. It is so scary when they drive in bad weather. Praying DH makes it home safe today.

Well we have about 3.5 inches of snow so far and it is coming down pretty hard, they are still calling for a change over to sleet later. I have decided not to drive into the office, not sure what the boss will say, I am more than willing to work from home but not taking a chance driving. School has been cancelled for all the kiddos. DH is home as well as the job site is closed for the day.

Today:
work? or paint
Julia has a dentist appointment at 4 pm, will monitor the weather and if we can't make it safely we will reschedule.
meeting for this afternoon has been cancelled.

our traffic is crazy this morning everyone heading down to Seattle for the parade...its 17 out right now and they are expecting winds to pick up, all the park & rides were close to being full at 6am....I'm a mean mommy in not letting Megan miss school to go down "everyone" from school is going but no way I want to stand out in this cold , especially since I am not feeling great this morning, oh well time to break out the nettie pot and flush my cold out!

today:
Megan up and out for jazz choir - teacher coming in for this then taking "personal day" to go to parade
take it easy until I leave for school

student store/library
get megan
dance
dinner - sweet & sour chicken

bed early!
