~The Daily Grind~ 11/24/09

It's Tuesday!!

Today I have to take DH in for a procedure in the morning, then I'm GOING to make that soup :lmao:

My list for today:

Caffeinate
smiley_drinkcoffee.gif
This repeats every day!!

Take DH to the hosp. He is nothing by mouth after midnight, and a huge coffee drinker...so I'm thinking I'll be going in with a grouchy old bear :lmao:

Keep my fingers crossed that they don't find anything bad while they are peeking around in there  :faint:

Come home and go with the flow...

Make the roasted butternut squash soup

Dinner... depends on DH

Have a Great Day Everyone!! :teeth:

Happy Birthday to your DH, Lisa!!

DIT--DH mailed the check to you for the punch! I'm thinking, though, that he forgot to include my note! So, if you get a random envelope, it's from me, and it was supposed to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Deb-Best of Luck to your DH today!!

Get stuff to Goodwill and out of my minivan so I can put groceries in.
Clean out refrigerator so there is room for whatever out-dated-stuff my sister made them bring to me. :rotfl2: [my parents live with my sister's family, I'm sending a case of wine for Christmas :thumbsup2 She's a saint]
Dust
Vacuum
Rinse
Repeat
Figure out where they are going to put their stuff. Got a new kitchen table [Sam's Club baby:thumbsup2] and it is NOT the dumping ground.
Fix bed in "guest room", Little Bit gave up his bedroom. The sheets are in the dryer right now. Forgot it is a full size, not queen size bed. :rotfl2: That was funny, me trying to put the wrong sheets on it.
The house looks pretty good. New table, cleaned out extra bedroom of all those books and put the kiddos toys in there. That means my entry way is clean again. :) And my kitchen. And my family room. :lmao: :confused3Who knew they had that many toys?
Re-arranged my scraproom and our bedroom.
Cleaned out the books that were in the hallway and bookcase in the bathroom. :lmao: Yes we had bookcase in the bathroom, but don't worry. The shower/bathtub doesn't work so the books were in no danger from water vapor at any time. That broke the first year we moved in and I am not taking out walls or floors to look for the problem. The boys just use our bathroom for bathing.
My kitchen looks pretty good.
The boys cleaned up their bedrooms.
I think I may have company over after the folks leave and I clean up THEIR mess. :lmao:

They are due here around 4ish, probably before because my Dad doesn't ever do the speed limit. He is probably even more of a lead foot now that he is older. So I'm planning on having all the shopping and putting away done by noon.

Pick up Little Bit from school and let the games begin. :thumbsup2
:sad2:I just love to hear stories about what an ungrateful child I was [not true] and what loser boyfriends I had [okay this is very true :lmao:, but that doesn't mean I want to hear about every single time I see them] and the undermining of my parenting skills. :woohoo: Do holidays get any better than that? :rotfl2:

Deb - I hope DH's procedure goes well today!
AWM - Enjoy your family! Sounds like your dad may have something in common with mine.....an earlybird?

Lisa - Happy Bday to your DH! It is my DS' 9th birthday today, and it would have been DH's grandpa's 88th bday; I remember him being thrilled that DS was born on his 79th bday, and what a celebration the next year on their 1st and 80th bdays we had!

Today:
get ready and boys ready
boys to school, me to work until 2:30
Thanksgiving parties at school
not sure after that??

Steph

Wow, lots of birthdays! Happy birthday to them all!

Deb, hoping for good news on the procedure. I'd be a total bear without my first (and probably second) cup of coffee too.

Nan, how is your gramps?

Ann, I'm giggling because I can see loads of eye rolling going on while you turn away and nip from the flask :)

Seems as though the cold has finally landed. I've been feeling like it's coming for weeks. I woke up all headachy and sore throaty this morning. I want to take a nap, but I have a few errands to do before I collapse a bit later. So, there goes my list. Aside from paying a few bills, I'm not doing much today. I do need to get a book at the library.

Princess doesn't have school tomorrow, she's spending the day with my FIL because both DH and I have to work, he spoils her rotten, so I have to remind her that she doesn't NEEEEEEEEED anything!

Hope everyone has a super day!

Congrats on all the birthdays and my thoughts are with those folks dealing with medical and family issues -

Today and tomorrow simply have to be "finish up" days! I feel like I've got so many things started and in progress - but *not quite* finished - so, that's what I intend to do...

Wish me luck! From household stuff to scrappy stuff to Christmas stuff, let the completing begin!

Glad so many of you liked (!) the Pilgrims' laundry historical tidbit from yesterday - sorry, the well is dry today! As is SOME of my wash...!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hope you feel better today.

[stealing from PN96's list]

Lisa, Happy Birthday to DH!

BBB, Happy Birthday to your DS!!!

BAMB, Happy Birthday!!!!
:bday:party:

Ok, new note to my list..
throw fit w/ parents as they are going to Disney on Friday... WTH are they thinking..

Oh, and who does my mother call to get pricing.. ME...and still doesn't invite me.... and than tells me what my Christmas present is for this year... Storybook (guess I don't have to go out for BF definitely).... but the least they could have done was send my whole family to Disney! Ghesh... get an empty nest and they decide to party in the World...

I'm going to find a lump a coal to send for their arrival home!

Gramps is doing better today.... was able to get out of bed... w/ his own attempt which resulted in him falling.. however, he was unhurt, nurses were at the house and he hollared for Grams (which he hasn't done for 4 days)... and he recognized Grams...

Fingers crossed... the herd of elephants are arriving noon and Grams and DH discussed hiding all their meds especially Gramps pain meds (they are the big ones).... last thing we need is someone taking them from him... :(

Thanks to all who have asked...

Oh Nan, what a thing to have to worry about on top of everything else -

Happy Birthday to all.

I kind of overdid it a little yesterday and am paying for it today:sick:. Will take it a little easier today.

Clean out fridge
Sort through Thanksgiving storage box
Dust first floor (didn't get to that yesterday)
Buy jeans that FIT
Pick up a pair of shorter knitting needles
Frame our Ketubah (has been sitting out ready to frame for 13 years...)
Wash Floors on First floor
Find sour cream/fruit salad/marshmellow pie recipe
Make list for tomorrow's must dos

That's it for now...

OH yeah, it's awful.. the one person I'm most worried about is the one who won't get off is backside and get a job...and he is a PARENT now! :( Its one thing not to take care of yourself.. its another thing not to take care of your child and wife.... just pure laziness...but they got it all from their mother... the two oldest kids (DH and his older sister) are the only ones that got out, have jobs, have families, take care of their own, etc.... when they saw the opportunity to run and get away, they ran and never look back!!!

Ann- hope you family visit is good and not too stressful
Nancy- I pray everything goes well with Grams + Gramps + the lazy ones

Happy Birthday to ALL those having one- I know there was quite a list!

Deb- I hope DH's procedure goes by unevntfully and he recovers quickly.

Today:
ride Sum of all Thrills- done
grocery store- done
pet store- done (Sultan broke his leash the Sunday morning before we left)
dinner- ham, sweet potato bake, cornbread, vegies
get things ready for mom and dad's arrival

I guess I am lucky in that my DH and I am looking forward to my p[arents visit- Dad will be putting together the cabinet they bought us for our anniversary and hanging a few pictures that weren't out last time he was here- and maybe helping DH sort through his office, mom will find something she needs to clean (i did the oven/stovetop/taoaster over/microwave/ and bathrooms so IU don't know what but it will be something), make our thankgiving pies, help with cooking and clean-up, and work with me on a possible book. Both of them will go Black friday shopping with us - so all in all it is looking to be a great holiday(just have to endure a few comments about my weight).

Rebecca

DH's procedure went really well. He has some really bad ulcers in his esophagas, and they think that might be his problem. He is on prilosec 2x/day till he sees the doc again in a month. He was a grouchy bear, and I was sneaking my coffee all morning :lmao: But once the nurse brought him a big cup he was good to go...came home and had a steak sammy, and then finished the apple pie...no trouble swallowing today :rotfl2:
