~The Daily Grind~ 11/12/09

Hey all - checking in!

Back from Disneyland and facing Mt. Washmore - and I had the hampers empty!! Dang laundry.:dance3::headache::mad:;)

Rainy here today so housebound. DD off to school and Little one is napping. I am thinking of doing the same since we got in about 1 this morning and I am out of Latte for my Tassimo!! why, why, why......:rolleyes1

Handled an insurance matter - and need to make another phone call but am sure she is out for lunch so yep looks like a nap is a great idea!

I saw someone was ordering prints....any specials out there?? Have some Disney prints to print and some Christmas cards to order!!
:yay:

Hope the little ones are feeling better!

Nan we get buzzed in and then MUST go to the office and get a pass. No ifs ands or buts about it! they will kick you butt right out the door w/out one!
VERY STRICK RULE!

Gone are the days of just walking in the school......the DS' go to a small private school, and we have to ring the bell, then wait for the secretary to come open the door. No passes, though.

At our school, all of the outside entrances are kept locked. Faculty/staff have ID's that we scan and the door opens. If you aren't faculty or staff, you have to ring the "doorbell" and the secretary asks who you are and what you need, and then you are let in. You can only come in the front door if you're not faculty or staff, and you enter into a vestibule and then straight into the office. You can't be in the general open area of the building. It's taken some getting used to--just a different world now, I guess!!

DS is feeling some better--thanks for all of the good wishes, everyone! The dr said the ear infection is getting better. He is breaking out in his usual post-vaccine rash. . .which, according to the dr's, has NOTHING to do with the vaccines, but he only gets it after he gets them! They also said part of the fever was the eyeteeth that are getting ready to come in. I am glad DH was able to take him in, though--it eases my mind!!

Awwwww, glad that lil cutie is feeling a bit better!

I hated shot time, DS21 always had a strange reaction... and he couldn't take regular baby Tylenol :confused3 We didn't figure this out till he was older... red dye made him sick sick sick!

:worship: Nan, that's actually very cool that you were asked for your pass  I remember a few years ago when I was carded at the liquor store, I wanted to give that guy a hug :rotfl2:

Debbie, the idiot has surfaced... re: graduation gowns/announcements..
I'll PM you the laughter!!!

STUPID!

I don't mind the security.. really I don't.. it's new for all of us.... we didn't have it a year ago... I'm all for the safety of my kids..

I was just more taken aback because I was opening the office door when I was asked for my pass... I hadn't even signed in.. just buzzed in the door!!!
Hey, I had another kid tattle tale on my to my oldest stepson that I was in the building! Seriously, you tattle taled on an adult!

Hope all the sick ones are feeling better. L came home at 9:45 I have to teach this new nurse how to ? him. He had a pulled muscle in his stomach. He just said his tummy hurt guess she didn't think about sports. He'd done a 200m butterfly at swim and did it then course he doesn't tell me either. Need to teach the kid too. oh well he's not considered absent cause he showed up.
all projects are done except dh (not) put camper away and didn't clean up after the little friend. I didn't know this till I went to help him cover it at which time i have nothing there to clean with :scared1::scared1: so i have that to look forward to in may.
picked up dad's truck to I can start packing that in the am shouldn't take to long.
our schools you can still walk into elem you are supposed to report to the office but if it pick up time you go to the cafateria and only specials (art ect are on that end of the building, middle you walk right past the office. only front doors are unlocked.
off to get kiddos to bed

HOW do I manage this stuff?

Two YEARS ago, we got some great pictures of the boys in the leaves. Not long after that, I found some cardstock that would be perfect for the pics; I had 4 sheets of it. I used one to make a card for DH awhile back, but I kept the rest in my plastic paper keeper. I've seen it several times over the last few months in my stash, and I knew what it was for. It was a reddish-burnt orange color, it's not like I used it by mistake.

Well, it's GONE. All of it. I've looked in all my stuff, and it's not there. I've gone through the albums I've done anything in lately, and I haven't used it.

I do have some that will work, but it's not the same. DH is looking at me like I have 3 heads because it's really bugging me....I knew you guys would understand. Oh well, life goes on.

Just when you think she can't surprise you any longer she still does.:sad2:

I hope all the little ones are feeling better. DD was up all last night and started this morning with a fever so she is home. DH had a light day so he was able to stay home with her.

Start and empty dishwasher
Wash dishes DH left in the sink last night
Caffeinate
Call school nurse
Work
Call dentist to reschedule DD's appt scheduled tomorrow
Hairdresser
Fold clothes
Oversee bathtime

Princess came home and lounged on the couch with a movie. She seems okay, just didn't want to take the Tylenol they offered her. That's fine, I was home, but she certainly could have taken it. I think it's just this cold. Either way, the cold is not as bad as she's had in the past!

Yikes. all the poor sickie poos! Hope everyone feels better in the morning! My DS17 is doing fine...just has his mama on him about the meds... Yeah, buddy get over it :lmao: Mama really does know best!!

Nan- Oh Boy, hope "the stupid" is under control! Just gotta feel sorry for the boys ya know? It's hard to be in the middle of adults...

well bubba made it through the whole day. he has not felt good all week. he's fighting it whatever it is. one more day!

sorry for those that do not feel well. hope everyone starts feeling better real soon.

How's he feeling today, Holly? I woke up (waaaaaaay too early) with a sore throat and headache. Princess was so kind to share her germs with me!

Oh, no!! I hope Bubba's better today, and Jennifer, I hope you feel better soon!!

hes up and he has a sore throat and stuffy.
i'm only working a 1/2 day today. so i told him go to school take your test and if you still don't feel good have the nurse call me and i'll go get him.

i feel like it's only just begun!

sorry you are feeling crappy Jennifer. hugs to you that you can fight it off quick.
and did you not teach Princess M to share!:lmao:

Lisa & Debbie,

We got it under control... but the prices for that non-sense.. and she thought he need thank you cards, open house cards.. Hello, NOT on my dime.. I'm making them.. We need very few announcements as I have plans to make for extended family members. The only ones we are inviting to the ceremony itself is the grandparents and our immediate family (me and the 3 kids)... The open house is the weekend before and I'll send out what I have made... and I'll make the thank you cards (or buy them at the dollar tree) boys don't care what they look like, they are mad enough they have to write them! LOL

Anyway, with the 2 package options we think or viable (we prefer the smaller one).. our 1/2 is a little over 50.00... the deposit is 90.00.... so it's just as easy to pay it off in full (or at least our half and be done with it!)
