~The Daily Grind~ 1/18/10

Welcome to Monday again! I had a very nice weekend, I hope everyone else did too! I crocheted, watched some DVR's stuff, cooked and cooked for this week, got my hair done by DS21's way to cute DGF in my kitchen, and planned a Vegas trip. Yup, I said Vegas. Nope, I've never been there...

Long story: not venting, just strange long story...

I was invited by a friend from work to her destination bachalorette party. Vegas, baby! But there's the catch (why is there always a catch?) When she and I were talking about it, I said while I have no prob sharing a room with someone I don't know, I'm not so inclined to share a bed. My friend understood that, I think she felt the same way. There are people coming in from Chicago, and her mom, her aunt, me, and her from this area. Mostally an older group, except for the bride. Well, her mom went and booked this suite that sleeps 8, and then told her. So no block of rooms, 2ppl in a room. She reserved a 2 room suite with a living room. 1 king, 2 queens, a sofa, and a trundle. But her mom said I should get my own room and try to get on the same floor... ummmm, OK. We can't leave on Sunday 5/2 because her mom has to work. We have to get a flight at like 630 in the morning on Monday. And we are returning on Wednesday and arrive after midnight...

Last week, I checked the flights and they were like $100...this weekend they are $159... hmmmmm. My DH calls me a "Mavericky Maverick" because I like to think outside the box. So, I'm thinking and planning and started wondering to myself why am I getting up so early on Monday? Why am I leaving so late on Wednesday? I'm not working... I'm getting my own room, so not on their ressie and that's when the Mavericky part started I'm going to fly in on Sunday at a much better time, and leave Thursday morning, at a much better time. 4 nights in Vegas BABY!! I didn't finalize anything yet. I want to see if the flights drop again if I check during the week.

So, I'll be there for the party stuff, and the Cirque show she wants to see, and spend all my time with them while they are there. I hope she doesn't get mad that I'm not traveling with them, but I like my idea so much better. My DH is all for it. He thinks it's a great idea...

Clean the pit... Ok mabey not... Mabey take down the tree should be my goal for tommrow. Its such a mess it will probally take me 6 years to clean. The thing is Im moving some of the stuff from there to my living area. YIKES!

Start a new give away box (also having to do with the pit LOL!)

I've got babies home.

I'm sleeping in.

The dogs have stopped eating their 6 am feeding. All they themselves. I didn't remember my other Husky doing that. Course she could self feed. She never over ate. Anyway for the last three weeks I or Eldest have fed them and they don't eat it.

Not sure what will get done today. The boys don't want to do anything but play their games. I do need to get milk, but I think I can get DH to do that.

Its 10pm on the 17th here and ive already started on my list. I moved some of the stuff (mostly text books and office stuff) out of my craft room and into my kitchen area (cause the kitchen table is only used as an office). the room still looks bad, but its gettin there!

We are staying at Bally's. I like that it's centrally located, and has the monorail right there. Supposed to have a great pool, and a true Vegas type show right there. Since I know NOTHING about Vegas, any and all ideas are welcome.

It's kind of a shame that her mom did everything so fast, and I think my friend was surprised too. But it is what it is now. I figure when I tell her my plans, I'll give her the option of coming out earlier and staying in the room with me. Maybe her mom can change her ticket to Sunday... it's a thought anyway.

Deb I think you should go for it. why kill yourself with hours like that for traveling.

It's snowing! I don't know how much is expected, but right now it's just dust, really (okay, a couple inches, but that's nothing).

Princess doesn't have school, and she's still asleep! She was wrecked yesterday after the sleepover. They didn't fall asleep until 1:00 am! I probably won't go in to work. I'm going to work on swap stuff, and meet my friends Holly and Bubba for lunch.

I get to play all day, they canceled work. Don't want the older people on the roads. I will FINISH they list and hopefully figure out what to add to it to be done with the room so I can play.

Good morning, everyone! I'm off today, too, so I slept in! Looking forward to a nice day with DS & DH! I've been battling my Bell's Palsy stuff again all last week. . .today is the first day my face isn't numb & tingly, so I'm taking advantage of it!!

Deb, that sounds like so much fun! DH & I have been to Vegas twice. I'm not much of a gambler (it doesn't bother me, I just suck at it, so I don't do it!), but I LOVED Vegas! And I think your plan rocks!!
