I was wondering have any of you been to The Crystal Palace and what can I expect? This is my first trip to WDD so I am just curious.

Thanks

I went there a few years ago for breakfast and had one of the earliest seatings. There was a buffet breakfast and the characters probably came around to the table at least 2 times. We went for dinner in October, and the food was very good as well. All the characters came around, and I think Eeyore led a parade for the kids around the restaurant.

We will be doing it again in a week :)

We dined there for lunch in March, and I think it is the best buffet in WDW. We like going for lunch, because the menu is similar to dinner, but cheaper.

When we eat a large lunch, we only have something small for dinner, and this seems to work well for us.

Have fun!

We ate there a couple of weeks ago for a late lunch. We didn't have a PS but stopped by to check on seating availability around 1:45 & we were seated within 10 minutes. Food was delicious & the character interaction was fun & our party was all adults! I know there were 2, maybe even 3, of the kiddie parades around the tables while we were inside & the characters took turns leading them. I think you'll really enjoy the experience.

This is one of our most favorite restaurants. We eat lunch there every trip. The food is excellent and the price is very reasonable. Getting to see Pooh and friends is just a nice bonus. We'd eat there whether it was a character meal or not.

Actually, last trip we actually met a DIS member there who is a CM.

We always make it there for lunch. We get one of the last seating times. The characters spend more time with each person since they clear out the restaurant to get ready for dinner.
The food is great.
Go for it.......

This is one of the worst meals I have had anywhere--at Disney or anywhere else in the world.

Short version: We showed up very early from our PS time (expecting a wait) and weren't seated until over 20 minutes past our PS time. I can deal with that. But that already closed down 80% of the buffet; what food was left was disgusting (looking & tasting), and that's being nice. The service was non existant. It took a good 15 minutes to give our drink order and about equal to get the drinks. Yes, we ate without getting anything to drink. We barely saw the characters, never Pooh. And when we complained to the manager, we got zero response.

The majority of people do have a good experience there, but if you do a search on the restruant board, you'll find that there are quite a few of us who get lousy experiences as well. Personally, I'd go with Donald's, Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fair (which has Pooh).

We love the Crystal Palace for Breakfast - we go on a non early entry day with the earliest seating and load up on all kinds of yummy breakfast food! Then hit the park - most of the time for rope drop in Fantasyland, then we are good food wise till late afternoon. The character interaction is wonderful. Give it a try.. Michelle

We ate dinner there two weeks ago, and it was fabulous! We were not expecting much, but the food was wonderful, the characters great, and good service, too! This will definitely be on our list for our next trip!!

This is our favorite -- especially breakfast :goodvibes We eat here every visit (twice this time--we are trying dinner but I couldn't visit WDW without breakfast at CP) The food is yummy, the restaruant is very pretty and the character interaction is great!!

I was there a few years ago for a Pooh Bear breakfast (our first character meal) and it was wonderful. Lots of good pictures. The characters came around every few minutes, it seemed. The food was good. (I wasn't feeling good so I didn't eat much but everyone else in the group said it was really good.) I think you will enjoy but I will say that I believe Chef Mickey's is better. Plus, you don't have to use MK park time to do your breakfast that way. You can do it on a off day.

Enjoy!! ::MickeyMo :Pinkbounc

We just ate there a few weeks ago for an 8:20am breakfast PS and I wasn't overall impressed like others here have been. The building is beautiful and the service was very good but I wasn't a fan of the buffet, the make your own omlette station was about 10 people deep with one cook! Skipped that and went to a few other things and it was fairly good. I think the problem was, none of us were really that hungry so early and since we weren't seated until 8:45pm (which really ticked me off by the way) by the time we got out of there, Dumbo had a 25min wait which defeated the whole point of arriving early!!!

My suggestion is to either do the lunch or the latest breakfast ressie you can get. Go on an Early morning MK day. Arrive at 8am, go on a whole bunch of rides, work up an appetite and then go sit down and relax. The character interaction was well rotated so everyone got to see them but it was also very rushed feeling. We probably spent a whole 30sec with Pooh :guilty:

I thought CRT was better with princess interaction and I loved that we could sit there while they served us the food - the stuffed french toast there was really yummy!!!

We eat lunch here every year. We love it, we try to get a late lunch (1:30 or so) seating and then we have a light dinner. We have always found the lunch buffet to be very good.

Thanks guys for all your responses. We are going so we will see what it will be like. I don't have high expectations so we'll see.

Thanks

Hands down this is the best buffet (in terms of great tasting food) on WDW property.

We've gone there every year for the past 5 or 6 years for lunch and have not been disappointed. We are almost always there for one of the latest sittings and have found the selection to be good.
