So, we do this every trip. This trip I did the itinerary not only for us (the H's), but our friends the S's who's vacation overlaps ours. We don't always stick to it, but we know at least we won't forget anything. Anybody else participate in this nuttiness???

Hey that's nothing out of the ordinary to me. When I took my parents for their first visit to WDW, I made an 8.5 x 11 sheet for each day, with our itinerary in BIG BOLD letters. Then we have this huge and I mean huge piece of plexiglass (we used to use it to cover the picture window during the winter) and I taped the days to it and set it up in their living room so they would see it every day and make suggestions. They never did, "you know best dear" but it stayed up until a month before we left. Only reason we took it down was because there was no room for the Christmas tree. :teeth:

I always say it is better to have a game plan than not at all. I hope it all works out for you. I should show this to my DH he thinks with all the planning I am doing that I am taking the fun out of it. Now I know that everything may not run the way we want it, but at this we have an idea of what we want to see and do. Of course this trip for us is the Soarin and the Stunt show.

Have a great trip and let us know how it all went. :sunny:

DANG! And I was hoping, after reading the title of this thread, that you would make MY itinerary for ME!!! :rolleyes1

I LOVE IT! Mine looks the same way. Everyone makes fun of me, but when we go to the parks, we know what we're doing. No standing around with the "what do you want to do now routine"

When is Peter Pan closing for refurb?

I think it looks great. How do you find out the specific times for the shows? I would love to include some more specifics into my itinerary. Please let me know where to go to find those times. We leave in 32 days and I need to get my itinerary fine-tuned!!!!! Thanks.

Bren

My first thought when I saw your title was"How dare you speak about me like that?, You do not even know me! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Looks good to me, mine was even MORE detailed then that last time

Have a great trip!

Trust me, no respectable DISer would ever chuckle at planning a detailed itinerary. In fact, everyone is reading your post intently for ideas on how to improve THEIR trip. Your plan sounds good to me!

Works for me. In fact, I think I am going to show this thread to my husband and children who think I'm neurotic. I think THEY are the crazy ones. Making itineraries, trashing them and starting all over is how I get my fix between visits!

I found the show times on the Steve Soares site. We've found on all our trips that the big bugaboo was not knowing ahead of time when the shows were and not being able to plan around them.

I think the big secret is that you only use the itinerary if there's a danger of you standing at the front of EPCOT one morning going, uh, now what do we do. I call it my extra brain. Some mornings we wake up and decide not to go to EPCOT after all but to go to AK, and the itinerary still works because we still know what we want to see and when.

Peter Pan closes for refurb on the 22nd of May. That was on the Deb Wills newsletter, I think. Or Mousesavers, I get both and sometimes forget which one has which info...

We've almost always used itineraries (30+ trips to disney), my husband loves that I make them, and we'll spend evenings going over it, trying to decide where we want to eat, what we want to see, etc. For us, the planning part is almost as much fun as the going part!

Now if I could just find info on how to plan the weather, I'd be invincible!

Thank you so much. Those times of shows will really help me out. This is our first trip to Disneyworld and we are traveling with 3 children (ds 9, twins ds4 & dd4). So it is a necessity to have a very detailed plan or we will have very hectic days.

We have sat down with the kiddos and got their input on which rides/shows are most important and have planned some character meals too. I am a planner, big time, and find that this works best for our family. We would be the family standing in front of Magic Kingdom "discussing" what we should do and be there for hours if I didn't have a schedule. We, though, are willing to deviate from the plans if the kids really want to do some rides again. I do better if I have plan, even if I don't follow it completely. We've traveled other places with friends who have no plan and we wasted so much time trying to decide what to do, etc.

I appreciate your help and these boards have just been wonderful in helping us plan for big trip (only 31 more days!!!!!!!!)

Bren

(wow 30+ trips to Disney - that's amazing!!!)
