The Cost of a Private Driver Around Walt Disney World

I live in Michigan so I don't know if Asia has anything to do with me.

You asked about a driver for a few hundred dollars for the week. In America, that would only get you a day or two of a personal driver, and even then you won't necessarily have the same driver all the time.

I was trying to show you the relative cost. In Asia a few hundred dollars would have my personal driver on standby pretty much all the time for a week. And my driver would accompany me as well to ensure my safety.

I have a driver as mentioned in some areas of America, and certainly would not expect the same from them, either in personal service or cost.

No need to be snarky with kaytieeldr - she was just trying to explain as she often acts as my interpreter for those who cannot understand my English. (and for that I again thank her)

Very kind of you kaytieeldr, but I will admit that I have syntax issues when typing out my posts while listening to German radio, or while speaking German to colleagues. And I do sometimes catch spelling errors in my posts before submitting (I am not referring to my use of British vs American spelling)

And I do often have reading comprehension problems here as well, apparently! But all three of us Bavarians who post here regularly do have a fairly strong command of the English language, like most Germans in our generation.

Yes, they're called taxis.

I doubt you'll find a private car who will be at your beck and call for a week for just a few hundred dollars. I could be wrong.

Oh it's possible, but for a few hundred a day. You should expect to pay around 30 to 40 per hour to charter a town car to provide you with exclusive service at your call. Just to explain "charter". It means to rent a vehicle and driver for a specific time block, like 8 hrs or so. The vehicle and driver remains "at your beck and call for the contracted time". You pay the contracted rate, whether the vehicle moves or not. So if it's 40 per hr, you pay 320 for an 8 hr period.

I believe that the fee is over and above the cost of the rental however

Several of us quoted per hour prices already in this thread - did that not answer the OP's question?

Again, to clarify my English - a few hundred dollars will only result in one or two days of a driver on call in America. At $35/hour plus rental rates, or $50/hour for towncar or similar service, the cost would easily run over $100 for just a few hours service.

lol... whether you have to pay for the rental or not, each "trip" costs $119.40 ($34.50 plus 15% service charge x minimum 3 hours)

I think I will just stick to using Disney buses and taxis.
