The Commercial Irritation Thread

If you notice alot of drugs for the treatment of herpes will have a very active person and always water. Its a tactic they use to show healthy lifestyle and cleanliness :) There is always a reason, people may not do it, but they may want to and that drug will allow them too

My ex-boyfriend used to say, "Damn, those people with herpes have a way more fun life than I do! I never get to ride horses by the ocean!"

Personally, I hate the IKEA commercials, especially the ones with the 2 twin girls talking to the matching ovens in voices so nasal they make my skin crawl. Oh, and the one for some kind of diet plan that involves cookies with people saying, "Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? I stole the cookie from the cookie jar!" etc. Grrrrrrr.

My all time worst is the feet fungus commercial with the fungimonter. YUCK! "Digger" is digging under a disgusting toenail....uhh, not a feet person, that is so revolting! It always seem to come on when I was eating corn flakes for breakfast.

Yes, those are very bad..especially when he lifts the nail up :scared1:

I actually like commercials to some extent--even the ones that annoy me. Love to hate them!

Lately, they're running creepy ads for a video game, Assassin's Creed or something like that. It has death bells bonging and freaky looking video characters with spooky eyes--I hate it.

And I can not get over the sheer volume of Geico ads. How can they be saving anybody any money when they're spending so much on advertising? I'm sick of that obnoxious gecko and his snobby Australian accent. I'd like to run him over with my car.

I like the gecko, certainly the best out of the geico ones I think...

Anyway, he's not australian or british, he's....we don't know yet, its a mystery :p

The one about Mucinex makes me want to barf!:sad2: Just the thought of WHAT those characters represent, makes me..... :crazy2:

I agree with most, if not all, jewelry ads, especially this time of year. Oooh he went to Jared...huzzah, my life is complete now! ;)

The new Old Navy (I think) commercial with the 'go Christmas, go Hanukkah, go Kwanzaa, go Solstice' song really puts me over the edge though.

The commercials I hate most tend to be local ones, especially if there is yelling involved. Don't yell at me! I will seriously change the channel! If you live in the Buffalo area, you know what I'm talking about. Nationwide Warehouse, Airport Plaze Jewlers (ugh!! that stupid chicken!) American Freight, and the dumb HUGE! Fucillo guy. Sometimes I just mute it, but if I'm really crabby I change the channel. So there.

I enjoy most commercials but there is always one out there that makes me want to stick my head in a hole.

Currently that one is the Chevrolet commercial with the little red headed girl who keeps saying "I'm a big girl".

The whistle at the beginning of the PC Richard ads have bothered me my whole life. Can't stand it, and it actually keeps me from shopping there.

Around here we have Bob's Store ads - the woman in them thinks she's soooo all that, :rotfl: - can't stand the ads, and they will play 2-3 of them each break. I change the channel!

The one that drives me up the wall currently is the one for Jared, in which the man gets in his car after shopping there, and the GPS holds him captive until he shows "her" the ugly necklace he just bought his wife.

First, how does a GPS lock the car doors? Secondly, turn the thing OFF! :sad2:

OH, and has anyone seen these commercials for some sort of Internet college? Something like College Connection? "I need a degree to make a bigger salary..." and it's in a robot voice? ANNOYING.

I don't like the prescription drug commercials when they rattle off the side effects. The side effects are like 10 times worse than the condition they are treating!

May cause:
dry mouth
diarreah
nausea
dizziness
stomach cramps
insomnea
dry eye
headache
blurred vision

and the one I love the most:
sleep walking or driving with no memory of the event.

What the heck is that????

oh, the ones that describe anal leakage make me wanna gag every time!!!

There are a few commercials that are annoying but as soon as I know/think there is a commercial coming, I put it on mute or get up. I hate the fact that all commercials are extremely loud - while at it - even movies/shows get loud when the music/action is on - I have to hit the mute button right away.

We have all become deaf.

Car dealership commercials where the guy is screaming at me. SOOOO irritating! Shut the heck up already!

Well, I hate their 'money you can save' googlie=eyed ones, but I LOVE their emergency road service one. I imagine it would annoy a lot of people but for some reason I just love it.

I've noticed 'and junk' and 'did I do that' have been showing up in my conversations lately...with the accent, of course.

.

I have another:

THe Kay jewelers one where the man and woman are inside the cabin while it's storming outside. She gets frightened by the lightning, and turns to him to hold her. Him: "I've got you. And I always will." and then blah blah buy our ugly jewelry, and then her "Never let go, I won't."

UGH! Are they intentionally bad actors or what? Did William Shatner direct? WHat is happening?! They're both awful actors!

I hate that one too! And the men in the jewelry commercials aren't even attractive.

Any commercial showing someone eating. The slurpy, crunchy ones. Hardee's are the worst, the Kit Kat in the office one makes me cringe, and the yogurt slurping grocery shopper makes me want to crawl through the screen and slap that woman. Even the Yoplait ones where the women are licking the tops and putting them into an envelope-eww. who wants to open that envelope? And what, they send in 3 tops, the cost is 47 cents to mail it-the charity gets 10 cents each. That makes a lot of sense!

Messy commercials make me cringe, too, especially when the mom is HAPPY to clean up the spills. Yeah, like that's the way it is..

They showed this commercial on "The Dish" last night - it was so awful it was funny.

I actually think one of the funniest commercials out there now is the phone commercial one with the woman in the locker room talking about her "Rash" and how she has to "air it out" because of "the smell"....LOL, that cracks me up every time.

"My name is Ram, and my tank is full." yuck.

And to add to the medicines with bad side effects. The one that really gets me is the side effect of DEATH.
