I'm in a room full of people whose names I recognise from reading the Dis, some have 'dis' in their signatures, some don't, but I want to add them to my list, being the virtually sociable little VMK dude that I am. I enjoy friending others and getting to know them, and I enjoy the camaraderie generated by said fun-ness as do most of us... and for many of us, friends are the reason we play VMK!
So, to promote the fun of being able to hang out with all our like minded Disney Junkies here on this board and friends and family, this thread is about protocol for such situations... and soliciting the collective Dis brain for ideas!
I assume that some people prefer to be asked in general chat if you may friend them. I personally don't mind being sent a friend request without a 'may I' first, but I have done that to others and many times get no response. I'm wondering...
What does most of the Dis think? Ask first? Send the request and hope? Is it "if you're on Dis and I'm on Dis, by all means friend me?" Or do most of us want to chat first, and be asked in general conversation, perhaps after building a bit of a relationship first?
