We have 16 more days  So anyway I am still coming up with ?'s. Bear with me please :rolleyes1 Does anyone know where I can find the show times for Playhouse Disney? My son's are just dying to see this. The others concern our flight. First off we have never flown anywhere. Our travel lady just tells us to get to the airport 2 hours early and that's it :confused3 So do you have to check in first or what? I don't want to look like an idiot, but I don't really have a clue. Someone told us that my men couldn't wear their always present ball caps on the plane? We are renting a minvan at the airport, and everyone is telling us we need the extra insurance? Don't really know about this one. I am just trying to make sure there are not any big surprises, I don't like surprises. We are also going to a place called Race Rock for lunch the day we go to Sea World. Anyone been there? My oldest son is a race car junkie and it is a surprise for him. Thanks for the help

Hi, and a belated welcome!

For Playhouse Disney, try this site:
http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

Click on Studios at the top then scroll down till you see Playhouse Disney show times. Make sure you pick up a guide at the Studios gate when you get there to make sure the show times are the same. Steve updates his site every Saturday.

Get to the airport 2 hours before your flight, that will leave you enough time to check in, check your bags, go through security, and relax at the gate before boarding. You usually begin boarding a plane about 20-30 minutes before departure time.

Check with your personal auto insurance carrier to see if you need rental insurance . Many personal policies cover rented cars. Also some credit card companies cover your rented car if you use their card to rent it.

I don't know about wearing caps on the plane...never heard of that one!

Enjoy!

You can wear baseball hats on a plane. I've never heard that one before.

When you go to the airport, there will be lots of people to ask where to go. Just go to the counter for your airline and they will help you check in. They will take your suitcases if you are checking bags, and give you your boarding passes and bar code stickers for your luggage. Then they will direct you to go through security. You'll need ID for everyone over 18, your boarding passes. They will have you put all of your belongings through the x-ray machine, maybe your shoes or belt depending on the airport. You'll walk through the metal detector, and even if you don't set it off they may randomly select you to be "wanded" by hand to test for metal. Once you are through, head to your gate (printed on your boarding pass), and they will call when it is time for your row or group to get on the plane. If you have very young children, they will let you get on early. There will be at least one airline agent at the gate to help you.

Hope that is detailed enough :)

Have fun, you'll be fine, people will help you if you ask.

You might want to check in via your airlines web site....generally 24 hours before the flight. You can print out your boarding passes at home. Especially if you don't already have your seat assignments

Our airport and most airports we have been on do not let you board first if you have kids. Not even if you have a car seat to put in. You just board when the call your seat area which is on your boarding pass.

We have always been able to board early with our daughter and her car seat and that has been with several different airports and airlines.

Also, my suggestion is to use the skycaps! I think that is what they are called, if not, then, But whatever they are called, they are the men that are standing outside the airport just before you walk in to check in. You avoid having to wait in lines inside the airport. They will take your luggage and give you your boarding pass and you are ready for the gate. Much better than having to lug everything into the airport and through the lines. Just be sure to tip them...about a dollar a bag.

Hi,

I would recommend the extra insurance for the rental. We went last Oct. and rented a car, took out the extra insurance (it wasn't a whole lot), came out of MGM and noticed a huge dent in our wheel well! Someone hit the rental and took off! Anyways, since we had the extra insurance, when we handed in the car we showed them where it was hit, handed back the keys and walked away. I would for sure recommend getting it.

I have been to Race Rock. The place is really neat. If you want to take it to another level for your race fan, you can also go to Nascar Cafe at Universal's City Walk. You do not have to pay for admission to the park. It is like going to DTD except you will have to pay for parking. But we try to make it there on every trip to Orlando. I will also say that there is a great photo op at Race Rock with the truck Bigfoot. Alot of people will climb into the tire and have their pictures made. Great pics.

Thanks for the link :flower:

My family and I went last August and we loved it. We are not racing fans, but the stuff that they had there was great. They have tv monitors all around that show nothing but crashes.

You should have a good time and it is very convenient to Sea World. It shouldn't take you more than ten minutes to Race Rock from Sea World. Have a great trip!!
