As my 7 month window approaches next month, DD and I have decided to do a split stay 5 nights at AKV Jambo and 7 nights else where. DD originally thought OKW but she tells me today that now she is not sure where she wants to stay since she is happy with AKV for the first part of our stay.

We have been to SSR, VWL, BLT and BCV. Now she tells me to decide but just not BWV (I don't know why and that would have been my choice). As we will be doing AK the first part of our stay with maybe evening extra hours at one of the other parks, the next resort will have us travelling to MK, EPCOT and HS. Nothing commando probably afternoon/evening park with a nice TS meal everynight.

I just cannot decide at all. I originally thought BCV for convenience of parks and dining options then thought VWL just because I liked it there but then I think about OKW for the point savings (we will only be in a studio) but then I think about BLT but been there twice this year........

I am in a total state of confusion so I need some help. :confused3

DD will be 21 a few weeks before we arrive so we will also be celebrating that. DS might join us once we get to the second resort but who knows as that depends on his work schedule. I know that he will be quite bummed if he cannot be with us as he is the disney nut (MK is his most favorite park) but he just graduated college this past May so this could potentially be the first time that he is not with us::sad1:

So, there it is in a nutshell, and since I really cannot decide on where we should move to after our AKV stay, it is all up to you guys as I am leaving my decision to you all.........

You might want to consider SSR or OKW; for your soon to be 21 year old. DD would be close to the clubs at Downtown disney.

Good Luck

I know you have been there a lot but I would vote for BLT and then maybe VWL.

Both would give you easy access to MK and from BLT, you could take the monorail over to Ecpot. In addition, from BLT, you have access to all the resort buses via the MK depot for your TS meals.

You would also have the TOTWL to celebrate. Of course, I am biased toward BLT so that could be influencing my decision!!!!:rotfl:

My choice would be BCV or BWV. With Epcot and DHS a short walk/boat ride away, you have easy access to two parks. I also think the area is full of restaurants and entertainment for your evenings. Jellyrolls is a hot spot for celebrating, so that would be convenient to both. I've also heard that Kimonos at the S/D is fun, although I can't say from personal experience. Maybe you could ask DD why she is not interested in BWV? That might help you find out what she is looking for or not looking for.

I also think VWL or BLT would be great for access to MK, and you are then close to the monorail for dining/celebrating in any MK resort restaurants.

And, as mentioned, SSR/OKW are convenient to DTD, and at SSR you have the spa if you'd like to take advantage of any treatments there. We always enjoy that on mom and daughter trips. At OKW, while sharing a studio you'd each have your own bed too.

I don't think I helped at all. If it were me, I'd head to the BWV/BCV, but other options might fit your trip better. Good luck!!!

There are no more clubs at DTD, Pleasure Island is gone. There are some restaurant bars and some offer entertainment, but no real nightclubs.

If you're looking for nightlife, then I would agree w/ PP that BCV might be your best bet for Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance Hall & ESPN.

Never been to OKW, so I can't comment. But since you are starting your week in a location not known for its convenience, I'd go with one that is---BCV or VWL. With the 21st b-day mentioned, I'd lean toward BCV with the options being so handy on the boardwalk. I'm definitely biased toward BWV, but if she doesn't want that, I'd think BCV would be next best thing.

DH & I love them all, but VWL the least. Just because it seems so remote and there is no clubhouse. The thing we don't care for at BWV is the potentially LONG, LONG, LONG walks back to the room at night. We love OKW for points saving for a studio, but also we love the extra space a 1 or 2 BR OKW villa has. So much better for us than the smaller 1 and 2 BR villa's at the other resorts. But for studios, our favorites are BCV for location, AKV for atmosphere, and SSR because it's home. We haven't yet stayed at BLT.

You are going to love AKV. Since we just stayed at Kidani Village for the first time I would stay there for the majority of your stay and then suggest BWV or BCV as suggested above to be in the middle of more activity. OKW is great buy it is somewhat isolated from the activity.

Our kids aged 16-26 prefer BCV for pool and proximity to 2 parks.

Choice for you seems to come down to nightlife and dinner options. So, in my mind you are down to these :

OKW/SSR - save points, and close to DTD

BCV - In the area you seem to want to be in with EPCOT (dining and park options), and the Boardwalk for nightlife.

...and the winner is?:confused3

Since you stay already 5 nights at WDW, why not try something completely new and book Vero Beach for the rest of your stay? :-)

We are doing just that for our stay in Jan. First 3 nights at AKV where we plan to just do pool hopping, maybe Typhoon Lagoon once, some shopping and dining and after that 3 more nights at Vero Beach.

Looking forward to a stay without park visits but still some Disney Magic.

No question BCV. End of story:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I've done a split stay between BCV and AKV-Jambo several times, and will again in a few weeks. Obviously, I love that split. I focus on Epcot and DHS while at BCV, then the other two parks, AK and MK while at AKV. Yes, ITA with this.

If you are talking studio, I would rule out BLT (basically smallest on property. The goofy kitchenette will be better after the planned change, but will that happen before your stay?)
OKW has the advantage of being larger and 2 queen beds instead of pull out couch...

We did a studio at BLT last November with 3 adults; unless I was doing a 1 bedroom I would not even consider a studio at BLT unless I was travelling with only one other person (we did a 2 bedroom this past June and that was amazing).

So my thoughts are BCV due to location, VWL or OKW but still not sure :confused3. Our home resort is SSR (which I love) and we have stayed there multiple times and that is the only reason why SSR is not on the list for this trip.

I am still on the fence about which one to choose (of course based on availability). So I would like to here more opinions and then I can tell you what my choice will be..........
