The cheese is back! :)

Why couldn't they just be honest and say, "due to guest feedback, we've made the decision to add the AHOD platter back to the menu." Or be really honest and say "you caught us being incredibly greedy and called us on it, so we're relenting to avoid bad publicity over a couple bucks worth of cheese."

It would make me so happy if they just got really honest.

But then it makes people feel too powerful.

I hope this is true and that the email isnt the product of another clueless CM.

Same.

There was a disney blog last week that said the opening day for the new Luigi's ride at DCA would be 1/19. Then that same day that info was gone. So the blogger was wrong. And in a screenshot of the original post on their blog you could see that they wrote something like "very eccitata" meaning "very excited". Maybe it's the same guy writing that and creating the room service menus? :)

Disney couldn't close the deal with ziplock. Thank goodness.

:)

I'm on the Magic right now, b2b. We tried to order the AHOD a few days ago and were told it is no longer offered and it's not on the printed menu. Our second cruise starts today. No change to the printed menu from last week. I'll call room service later today and see if anything has changed.

I had missed this on the board and our family was seriously disappointed!

This is the response I got from Disney with regards to the AHOD cheese plate.

Thank you for contacting Disney Cruise Line.

I would be happy to further assist you.

As far as your question about the Room Service menu, it has come to our attention that there were some onboard directories that contained incorrect information regarding Room Service offerings. These have been corrected and all menus have been updated. While we always review our menu offerings, at this time the Room Service menu has not changed and favorites like the 'All Hands on Deck' platter remains a delicious option for our Guests.

Who knows if it was a mistake as stated or something else. Bottom line, at least Disney was listening.

:dancer:

And wings are back too!
When we were on the Fantasy in mid Dec they were charging for wings in OGill's!

I am happy to see the revised menu and that the cheese and crackers and the fruit bowl are back, but am disappointed that the grilled salmon steak is still missing. Can't have everything I guess, but I'm grateful for the backwards revision!

So, I'd never even heard of the AHOD platter until now. Can I order a bunch of them on embarkation day? What time does room service start? We prefer to watch sail away from our balcony. That and some champagne we're bringing onboard and we'll be happy!

"Some"???? How about the CMs who responded at room service saying there's no more AHOD plate? They certainly were directed to say that.

Good point. I think they were scared of the huge line that would have formed at the buffet cheese/deli bar. Everyone waiting for thier turn to load up the ziplock bag...

I would like to know this too, we are going on our first cruise in March.

I don't think I ever tried ordering RS on the First Day, I don't think I ever would either, as the crew is in real-deep getting luggage to rooms, prepping MDRs, answering all sorts of requests.... That may be the one time I would shy away from getting RM even if they did offer it. Might be the only time I would pillage lunch for cheese, crackers and fruit or grab something like fruit from deck. They are super busy on that first day. They are busy the last night too and probably why you can't get RS on the last night, if i remember correctly.
That is just me though. If they offer it I assume you can get it.

edit: ooops Shmoo answered you can get it .....

I also noticed that you can call to ask for the cake selection of the day....aka cake of the day! Yay!!!! My DS is so happy!!!!!

Many times the cake of the day is leftover cake from the day/night before but it tastes better when someone brings it to your stateroom!

Darn, just got off the Dream this morning. Now why didn't I think to take a pic of the Room Service Menu??? Sorry guys…. :(

I did notice the menu appeared to be freshly printed and new in my stateroom. And as I recall there were a couple of changes. Only room service I did during our weekend cruise was to pre-order breakfast delivered via the hang card supplied.
