mommapoppins -- great lo's! Thanks for sharing!

I finally finished a few more digital layouts:

Dunker Church

Dunker1-SM.jpg

The Dunker Church has become one of the most noted landmarks of the Antietam Battlefield. It played a pivotal role during the course of the battle. One of the most famous photographs taken after the battle by Gardner shows Confederate dead in front of the battered and beaten Dunker Church that somehow withstood the fierce shelling of the battle. The Union troops used it as a guide during the battle; it was their goal to reach this tiny house of worship. Afterwards it was used as a medical station. It is amazing that it withstood the battle. The original church was destroyed in 1921 by a violent storm. It was rebuilt and restored by the battles 100th anniversary in 1962. It was built on the original foundation and with as much original material as possible.

Visitor's Center (Part 1)

All the pictures in this layout and the next are taken from the observation deck at the Visitor's center where you begin your tour of the battlefield.

Visitor's Center (Part 2)

Visitor2-SM.jpg

The quote used on this one is actually from the dedication ceremony for the 20th Maine Monument at Gettysburg, but its one of my favorite quotes and fits so perfectly. What Chamberlain said that day in Gettysburg is true for all the battlefields. I think it works here. The paper that the quote is on is from a kit I downloaded, but I can't recall from where. I will have to see if I can find that info.

I've popped the link in my signature. Hope that helps. I'd love to see your boxes :goodvibes

Yzerbear - love them, as usual ;)

She posted a link to the instructions a page or two back:goodvibes
Thanks. I saw that as I continued to read the thread!:)
The instructions are on my blog
(Plus my Florida and Disney albums are on there too!)

I love your blog. I've added it to my favorites. I have been too motivated lately, but seeing that exploding box has done the trick to get me out of my card making, scrapbooking funk!:thumbsup2 Just what I needed. (I'm not too creative on my own, so I love to "borrow" other people's ideas!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I LOVE scrapping and I love Florida and Disney - makes the perfect combination LOL

I have other classes on there too and step by steps to a lot of my layouts.

Kirsteen - you are a super sweetie. Thank you x

Another digital layout:

Barton-SM.jpg

Clara Barton was called "The Angel of the Battlefield." She helped to tend the Union wounded. While tending to one soldier during the battle a bullet passed through her sleeve and killed the man she was tending, which is what the quote on the page is talking about. The brick in the cross is taken from the cimney in the house where she was born. The one photo is from the Library of Congress, which is the small text next to it.

I love your pages and the history lesson that comes along with them. I am a history buff! I remember doing a report on Clara Barton about 700 years ago when I was inmiddle school ~ she was an absolutely amazing woman! Thanks for sharing these beautiful and moving pages!

I love all your civ war layouts! I'm a reenactor myself so I have a ton of photos I've taken through the years. I'll do something with them one of these days...

Your LOs are fab! I love 'em. You need to contact someone to do with all these places you scrap as I'm sure they's love to see your LOs - they could use them as promotional materials they are so good :thumbsup2 Kxx
