The Cannings return to Orlando 2006 - Day Two - Magic Kingdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For those of you who are not familiar with my family, and have not read previous trippies and the pre-trip report, please let me do the introductions:
Myself (Catherine) (41) - loves anything Disney, especially Pooh and Mickey as Sorcerors Apprentice
DH (John) (47) - luckily loves disney as well, and is usually happy to agree with my plans
DS (Stephen) (14) - not too bad as a teenager, but doesn't like rides that go upside-down!
Friday 21 July 2006 - Day Two - Magic Kingdom
Well, body still being on UK time, what time did I wake up??? 3.45 am . Lay for a while, but couldn't get back to sleep so gave up and got up. Had a shower and then sat in the living room, writing trippie notes, and reading my book (I had taken 6 with me, not counting the one I finished on the plane journey).
The plan of action today, was breakfast at Crystal Palace. We had never been to MK for an early character breakfast, so this was a "first" for us. However, I knew we would be awake very early at the start of the holiday and decided to make the most of it, before "Teenage Syndrome" set in
Well we were all up and out of the house by 6.30 am (DS couldn't quite comprehend there are two 6.30's in a day LOL). It took us 30 minutes to get to MK, so we were entering the car park at 7.00 pm. Apart from cast member cars, we were the 10th car on the car park. We could not believe it. Easy walking distance to the T&TC. We duly put our England flags onto the car (you know the ones that everyone was using during the World Cup - they proved invaluable at helping us find the car when getting back to the car parks).
As it was too early for the ferry and the direct monorail, we had no choice but to take the resort monorail.
As we were the only ones there, we asked if we could ride up front? This was no problem
John & Stephen - didn't pick the same colour t-shirts on purpose!
Got to the main entrance at about 7.30 am, and then had to wait, as they didn't let us in until 7.45 am. The CMs were handing out stickers to all the children waiting, and you could tell which little girls were going to meet Cinderella at her Royal Table. They were all dressed up in their princess outfits.
Took a slow walk up Main Street, savouring the atmosphere, even though there was hardly anyone there
Notice how Stephen's sunglasses match his T-shirt - how cool is that?
Walked over to the CP and booked in. Given pager, but no sooner had we sat down to wait than we were called in - 10 minutes early.
