Cast:
Me (23) loves Alice, Friar Tuck and huge fast rollercoasters
Shane (26) DF big scaredy cat who avoids rollercoasters but came to keep me happy
Jemma (4) DD loves Snow White and Tiana
Liam (35) BIL loves rollercoasters and thinks of Minnie as his ideal woman!
Katelyn (9) DN loves princesses and HSM
We (myself, DF and DD) booked this trip in November and a couple of days later DFs Brother asked could they come too so more bookings were made and all we had to do was wait for March 1st..... We booked flights, transfers and the travelodge for the night before flying so that we didnt have a sleepless night before arriving at DLP
We decided to not really plan out too much and see how the mood took us when we got to the parks and so i didnt book restaurants. We have the free meal vouchers which i knew were pretty much accepted everywhere so we were happy to go with the flow!
I spent ages on disboards asking questions, reading TRs and threads before we went and want to say thanks to everyone that was so helpful and welcoming!
Day One
Feb 28th
1pm We dropped DS, James (and our basset, Ben) to my mothers as thats where he was staying while were in DLP, we decided that at 1 he was a little small for coming too and i knew he'd be content in my Mams.
We then set off for Dublin and stopped off for a bit of last minute shopping, some dinner and a walk around town before checking in at the Travelodge in Swords around 7pm (we got so lost!! and whats worse its right near the airport so we spend ages going round and round the airport!)
Our rooms were nice and comfy and we got into our pjs, watched some telly and drifted off around 9pm as we had to be up at an ungodly hour for our trip to DISNEYLAND!!!
My food reviews are in the restaurant review thread
Day Two
March 1st
4am
Our alarm went off and we were all well rested after our early night, the excitement was building and the kids were non stop chatter, the look on their faces was brilliant, i thought they might burst with excitement!!
We checked out of the Travelodge at 5am and drove the short journey to the airport for our 6.35am flight. We got great parking.... but then we noticed the fees.. 40 per day

so i quickly enquired if we had time to bring the car out to long term (we did just barely) and so myself and DF brought the car out, we got back in quickly but had to que for ages at security, we had to run to the boarding gate but made it just as they were boarding priority!
The plane left on time and the flight was perfect, we landed in Beauvais at 9.15am and our shared shuttle with Rs Transport was waiting outside. The hour and a half journey flew and we were at the Santa Fe at 11am! We checked in and our rooms (block 46 rooms 220 and 223, lovely warm rooms, great shower and very comfy beds) were ready so we dropped the bags and headed straight to the parks!
We went straight into DL and i was floored by how perfect it all is.
We met the penguins from Mary Poppins
so the girls got photos taken and the penguin twirled jemma around!!
We then walked us Maine St USA which is so so pretty.
We went over to FrL, more pics with Chip and Goofy
and had a look around and decided we'd take a trip on the Mark Twain first.
We got some great photos from the top deck.
We did Phantom Manor next which we all loved (the seats are very stylish!)
and by then we were getting hungry so we headed over to the Cowboy Cookout for a very yummy lunch.
From there we went to AL and climbed the cabanes which DD loved.
The views are great. We then took a stroll thru Passage d'Aladdin, DD wanted to try bring home the jewels!
Then we came to Fantasyland... wow wow wow!
we headed straight for the castle and explored the dragons lair!
I then took DD and DN on Snow White which was good (DD was fine but it is mostly about the witch).
Next was DL..Then BIL, DN and i que'd for Space Mountain... which broke down as we got near the front
(kinda ok cause i was getting a bit scared!).
We had quickly seen all the lands so we went to the Studios to check it out. (On our way we stopped off to hire a buggy (24 for three days) as DD was worn out from walking...)
We had a look around and then myself, BIL and DN went on the Rock n Roller Coaster, it was great, very fast and the que was small. Loved all the loops! Then the girls and DF and BIL wanted to do paramagique (too high for me)... Jemma loved it, Shane not so much!!
It was getting late in the day so we said we'd do a couple of kids rides before going back to the Santa Fe (or Santa Sleigh as Jemma was calling it!). We que'd for the Flying Carpets which then broke down! So we went on Carz (really good, goes faster then i thought!!)
We went back to the hotel and relaxed for a bit before heading back to the Villiage for dinner at 9pm. We went to Annettes and waited 5 mins to be seated upstairs. The food and atmosphere was great and we ate our fill and then crashed out in our comfy beds in the Santa Fe to be well rested for our 2nd day in the magic!
Day Three
We got up at 8.30am and didnt much fancy breakfast so we took our time getting ready and headed to DL during the extra hours. We went on Space Mountain 1st which had small technical difficulties (it broke down when we were on it this time!!) it wasnt as fast as i had imagined but was cool.
Then we decided to try HISTA which (excluding the 10min kodak advert) was quite good, the rats were freaky and younger kids might well be frightened.
I then said id take the two girls and go on some of the rides in FaL. We did IASW 1st. We all love love loved it!!
Then the girls wanted to do the laberynth so off we went. It was good, took us ages as the sense of direction is bad! Next was Pinnochio, that was good. The girls loved it. Jemma wanted to go on the carrosel so that was our next stop. It was lovely but did anyone else think the horses are a bit crazy looking??
We headed to the studios to meet the boys at 2pm, they had had a look around a and a quick pint and we were all hungry so it was a toss up between the blockbuster or cafe en couliss (covered by the vouchers for lunch). we went to blockbuster cafe as Katelyn loves HSM, the food wasnt great but the choice was quite good. We had croques here which were so tasty.
When we left the Blockbuster Cafe the end of the Stars + Cars parade was passing by so we watched and took some photos, they did a brill job restoring and theming the cars...
The boys wanted to do Armageddon so that was our next stop. It wasnt great tbh as there was a bit of waiting around but the special FX were good (except when i thought i was about to get singed!!)
We went straight to que'ing for the stunt show then and it was so so good! theres a bit of audience interaction and the coolest beetle ever!
We went to the villiage after the show and the boys played games in the arcade while us girls looked around the shops and bought some pressies and bits.
We then went back to the Santa Fe for a wash and rest before dinner at 9pm in the Chuckwagon in the Cheyenne which was great value and very tasty. We had a couple of drinks in the Red Garter Saloon (glowtini = yum, pina colada = nicer!!) before heading off to bed for the night
(at the back of block 46 in the Santa Fe is a little bridge that brings you to the Cheyenne hotel so we ended up just getting the bus from the parks to the Cheyenne as it was a shorter walk for tired kids! also handy for dinner)
