I have 3 college kids. Tomorrow they start coming home along with their million friends. Good bye to calm easy to sleep nights.

Isn't it great?!

I loved going home to Mom's while away at college. And I really enjoyed taking new friends home for her to meet.

Do you have your Chex Party Mix ready?

just chiming in to say I love my kids, but I can't wait until they will be college kids ;)

My oldest 23 just called and thanked me for his "Survival food kit" his school sold. He asked me how I did that-UW-Milwaukee sent me a letter and I got to choose a basket. It had chips, cookies, juice, raisins, rice crispie bars and some other stuff for $11. I got to put a small note in it. He was impressed. My other dd-21 is in Marquette MI and this will probably be her last extended visit home. She has a job lined up when she graduates and she will be offically moving out.

My 2 in college and 2 in h.s. have a blast when they are all home. They go skiing, snow tubing, hockey games, movies, I think they are all each others best friends, plus then add all their other friends in.

I'm going to put a sign on my washmachine that says:

HAVE MERCY ON ME!!!

hehe - they eventually get apts and move out on their own. But - how I remember those nights waiting for them to come home - or going out to pick them up - or waiting for the phone call that they're not coming home that night. ugh! that part wasn't fun!

DDs will be coming home for winter break. I am looking forward to having them here for a while :)

I remember those days. Now Travis is happily married and he is his wife's problem ;)

DS comes home Thursday night, he's home for a full month!
He invited 4 friends from school to come visit! I love to see him have a good time, he works so hard in school, he didn't have much of a social life in HS with all his AP classes.

I got DS one of those survival baskets that had all kinds of things to eat, planners for next semester, an hour massage in Boston, a movie ticket etc... It was $30, a bargain! I wasn't sure if he would like it, but it was a hit!

Just a couple more nights of peace and quiet here. My younger son is flying home from LA on Wednesday afternoon and my older son will drive home on Friday!

Chaos will reign at our house until January 8th!

And if you'll indulge a proud Mama and allow me a parental brag:

Older DS called today to tell us his grade on his Senior Thesis:

An A+!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes,

I hear you loud and clear!

I've got two coming home. Two back to back parties (xmas), my birthday, dd's birthday, new years.

Plus each have a special friend. (more problems).

I'm just going to bed and l0 p.m. and shut the door, LOL.

bssnynder: congrats to your DS! Awesome job.

DD doesn't go back till MLK Day!

herc.

I'm just preparing for the chaos and nights when I don't sleep so well. I actually love having the kids all home. It feels more like life is normal when they're alll here. And I love their friends. They know that. That's why so many of them will be here for the next month.

How much do you guys supervise your college kids?

Compared to the level of supervision during high school, I'm pretty lenient. I do expect them to have a healthy respect for being a part of the household when they are home, and for the most part, they cooperate.
