The bumped ancient threads

Well back in my novice DIS days, I would search for a topic, post, then in turn bring up an older thread.

But regardless of the reason, what's the big deal in bringing up old threads?

Ah but did you post preper replies? One person's brought up threads from 2005 and 2006 and not posted proper replies on any of them. I reckon it's just to annoy :rotfl2:

oddly enough, the one I wandered onto was apparently bumped by a ghost. The first current post was someone talking about the how it was an old bumped post.

with the search it's pretty easy to pull an old thread. Don't see what the big issue is though.

not a big deal at all. I just dislike thinking through a post about something that I feel strongly about only to notice that the thread was 4 years old and no one gives a rat's butt what I think about it now.

Maybe it's a result of those threads complaining that people don't use the search option, so they use it and all these old threads pop up.

Can't win for losing!

See I get this when you're talking about the theme parks or resorts boards. But to dredge up an old topic on the CB? Makes no sense. :confused3

It's the CB, it's not supposed to make sense...a lot stranger thing have happened and will continue to happen here...it's a very diverse enviroment:lmao:

I noticed on a couple of the threads that have been bumped on the CB, the person doing the bumping has links to an online store at the bottom of the post. They are for things like video game controllers on a thread about video games, or for cameras on a thread about cell phones. Seems like spamming to me. Maybe he was the "ghost" that bumped that one thread and the mods already removed his post.

I agree, but it's been here on the CB that those threads complaining about people not using the search have been posted. :confused3

Yep, the perfect explanation.

I don't mind reading old threads but to respond to them? That's ridiculous. I've found threads on the first page that I answered in 2006! Sometimes it's full of responses by people who don't even come here anymore. It's like going thru a time tunnel! :scared1:

So now I've got the Time Warp song from Rocky Horror Picture Show stuck in my head. Thanks Robin.

Yeah, but it gives the new kids a chance to add to the old conversation.:thumbsup2

I always feel stupid after responding to a thread, and then later someone says something about it being an old thread. :guilty:

I never look to see when the thread was started, I just don't think to do it. I see a topic I want to say something about, so I read through it, and say what I have to say. I keep telling myself to watch the dates, but I always forget.

Well, if we're bumping old threads, could someone please find the one where the neighbors were throwing the brown paper bag into their window every day? Please? I'm sure we'll never get to the bottom of it, but maybe we could come up with our own endings! :lmao: :rotfl2:
