It seems I have caught it! :D

My husband, who, after watching me blubber my way through Lilo and Stitch, and now who I will nominate as Husband of the Year, surprised me with a whole host of Lilo and Stitch Opening day, cast member and limited edition pins, and even a Stitch Lanyard. I have no idea how he pulled it off, but I'm thrilled!

My question to you is...first How could I have been so dumb??? ( :) just kidding) I can't believe how neat this stuff is!

But seriously, how do you decide you are going to trade pins? I can't imagine I would actaully trade something like these...Is there one kind of pin you buy and one kind you trade?

I'm sorry to be idiotic...I've loved Disney forever, but never picked up more than an occasional resort or park pin.

Thanks everyone! :)

Cool. Another person sucked into the world of Disney pin trading and collecting. I love these kind of posts. :)

First, welcome to the Disney Collectors Board. We're a fun and mostly harmless group. I'll see if I can answer any questions for you.

Most people will buy multiples of a pin -- one to keep and the others to trade to people who weren't able to get the pin or to future traders who weren't into trading when the pin was released. Pretty much any pin can be traded, but the parks do have rules about trading with CMs.

Check the links in my signature. There's a Pin Trading 101 page on the DIS, and I wrote up a FAQ list a while back. The rules for trading with CMs are in both as well as a few other tips.

And if there's anything there that wasn't answered, feel free to ask on the board.

Other than that, have fun, don't try to buy everything or you'll go broke, attend Scoop's seminar next time you're in WDW, and don't sit across from Amber at dinner if Ed and Manny are at the same table. :jester:

Welcome Robin,

You are going to have so much fun.

And you are going to meet such wonderful people.

Welcome....to the wonderful world of pin collecting. It is not only addicting (as I stare at my princess ball pins and lanyard), it is entirely too much fun! Good Luck!
