Sorry but I am confused and I know the wonderful people on this board will assist me!!

Is this hotel (Buena Vista Palace in the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort) in Disney World?? If not, where is it???

Has anyone ever stayed here and what is your opinion - good or bad??

The Buena Vista Palace (formerly the Wyndham hotel) is one of the Downtown Disney hotels. It is not on WDW properties, but is near the Downtown Disney/Marketplace/Pleasure Island area. The Air Force Association holds a meeting there every January or February and my husband always attends. We have not stayed there, but have friends who do. The biggest complaint I have heard from them is that it is sometimes hard to get an elevator in the early morning and late afternoon when the meetings start or let out. They like the rooms which is why we can't talk them into staying on property. It is a large convention hotel, so I suspect that it is always crowded.

Stayed there a couple of years ago when my wife had a convention there. Unless it has changed I have always thought the decor was sort of generic and does not give you much of that "Disney" feel. A convention hotel with a couple of touches that remind you that you are in WDW. However, location is great, just step across the street and you are at Downtown Disney and there is a Disney bus transfer as you walk into DTD. Not sure where these buses go since never used them, may just go to Disney resorts. The two times stayed there had rooms with a balcony and a nice view. Maybe all the rooms have balconies, don't know.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but when did it go back to being the Buena Vista Palace??? I know it had changed from that to Wyndham. We spent our honeymoon there 19 years ago

Hey Paras4ri,

We also spent our Honeymoon at Buena Vista Palace 21 years ago. At that time there was only the Comtemp and Poly and you had to call 6 months ahead to get a reservation. Could not get Disney Resort reservation so Palace was next best thing at the time. I think I still have the cardboard room key with punched holes (hi tech at the time).

My husband and I were there for our wedding this past April. Our honeymoon suite was fine but I heard the "standard" rooms have problems. The grounds are beautiful and we loved being able to walk across the street to the Marketplace. Food is expensive! We are returning for two "free" nights in January.
