The Britney Spears Concert on Showtime

Did anyone watch this last night? I was just wondering what others thought of the show. I did not get the guys in the tightie whities.

What did everyone else think?

I don't get showtime, but I heard a clip of it on the radio this A.M. where they said she sang "live." It was HORRIBLE! The D.J. who went said it was the only song she sang live. Now I know why!

I love Brit, didn't LOVE the show, don't really care that she doesn't sing live for most of it, but as for the "nude" costumes...


Was anyone else reminded of Gollum from Lord of the Rings?? lol

My sister and I were saying how awful it would be to hear: "Congratulations, you're going on tour with Britney Spears!! Unfortunately, however, you're going to have to wear these..."

Seriously, if anyone watched SNL when Elijah Wood hosted and (I think) Chris Kattan was on as Gollum in this diaper thing...it looked JUST like that!!!

As for the tighties....*blech* I thought they looked silly. I may have actually giggled.

I loove Brit but I thought it was off the wall. It reminded me of Madonnas Blond Ambition tour or the one after. Also since she was hurt you could tell alot of the dancing was changed and what was up with those decorations on the tv screen.

I don't care for her anymore, back when she was first popular, she was o.k., now it's a competion, to see how less of a dress code disneykid she can get by with. just my thoughts!!!!!!!!

So when can the folks who don't have Showtime see it? I imagine they will put it out on video.

I wonder why HBO didn't host her show like last time? Didn't they?

So she looked like "Gollum"? That I have to see!

Her voice live was awful...my DH told me I had to turn it off because he said it was "unwatchable".

It was very similar to Madonna's Truth or Dare concert though as far as the staging goes.

Don't flame me, but I think she has really turned into trash. She definately is not anything I would want my 9 y.o. DD to look up to. She dresses like a slut and portrays this innocent image. Look at her videos and song lyrics. All she seems to talk about now is sex. It drives me crazy to see her do concerts when she isn't even doing the "live" singing. All those people pay an ungodly amount of $$ to watch a lipsyncer???

She was trying to pull off a Madonna, Blonde Ambition tour show, but it didn't even come close. The Madonna show was entertaining. More importantly, Britney sounded awful.

Trampy comes to mind when I think of Britney. I just happened to turn this on last night in the middle of the concert and thought it was awful. I can't sing and I would've done better than her. She was pitiful!

I used to really like Britney...but those machines must really make her voice sound good, because she has a horrible live voice.

I'd much rather see Jessica Simpson sing in Jeans and just "stand" there and belt out songs then see Britney in a thong dancing and running around the stage lip syncing and then singing what she did sing out of breath and off-key.

I completely agree....trashy. She was absolutely adorable when she first started. Man did she go downhill. Such a shame. Why do these young women think that's the way to go? I don't get it.

At least Jessica Simpson has some class. I think she does have her ditsy moments, but I think overall she is ok. She has a great body and wears clothes that flatter her, not expose her. I just saw her on the MTV Spring Break thing last night singing (live, too) "You Take My Breath Away". Not as good as the original, but boy did she belt out some notes. She looked great and she has a hot hubby!! Really makes Britney look like a trashy tramp!!

I saw most of it...switching between it and 'Alias' on ABC...

It was awful! She's turned into a mini Madonna. That show was pure trash. Disgusting.

My DD 8 begged me to tape it cause she goes to bed at 8:00p and the next morning asked if she could watch it. I told her she couldn't and it was hard to explain why. She's too trampy now. She was half naked and it was very sexual.

It's such a shame because my DD likes her old music and "toxic".

Oh well, whatever you have to do to make money I guess.

I thought the whole ************ (can I say that?) theme was very over the top. The song was much on its own but the whole scene was out of control.

I tivo'd it but have only seen the beginning. I personally am not bothered by her image at all. I don't have kids but at the same time I think her audience has aged. there were a lot of adults in her audience.
anyway...I was so into Madonna in the 80's and have seen all the shock stuff she did. Hey I even bought her sex book. So I am just not shocked by Britney at all. Madonna was nude by this time in her career.
and I saw the "nude" outfit on the making of the concert show and it was fully lined. as opposed to the video where she is actually nude with diamonds pasted all over her.
