Thank you. I was JUST about to post that very same thing! I had CHH on for our CS place for the lobster roll, but there is no way I'd eat that LOL

Boy does that lemonade WITH FOAM look delicious. It's too bad about the sour employee there.

I have read so many negative reviews about the lobster roll at CHH. I have mostly only read positive ones about the lobster roll they started serving over at the Boardwalk Bakery, so for those looking for a lobster roll during coming trips, maybe the BB is a better bet.

We love the lighthouse sandwich at CHH!

I jumped ahead, but I'm looking forward to going back and getting caught up on your other reports. It's always nice to see vegetarian foods featured! So thanks!

Ok I just had a chance to get totally caught up. I just have to say:

1)That tonga toast seems like it would be too sweet for my tastes, too, especially at breakfast time. So I don't hate you.

2)How sad about your tablemates at Biergarten. Is it just me? Why go to a place called "Biergarten" if you are going to be offended when consenting adults decide to order beer. I don't speak German, but I guess I thought the "bier" in the title represented "beer" in English. This is one thing that deters us from eating at this restaurant; we don't want to be seated with weird/rude people who will hate us or judge us for something ridiculous.

3)You ate at a lot of the same places we did last year for our 2012 trip. It's great to see the choices you made and pics of the restaurants etc.

Great job so far! I'll be looking forward to reading the rest!

Question: Do you remember if the sandwiches at Cosmic Ray's (specifically the veggie one) were pre-made or made to order? Thanks!

I'm assuming they were, at least partially pre-made because it was verrrry soggy so it must have been sitting for a while. It was still pretty good, but like I said - it's nothing I'm really going to go back for. Definitely head to Columbia Harbour House for the better veggie options.

Sorry about the delays, guys. There's so much going on in my personal life that I'm going a bit nuts over here! I love posting for you though, brings back my happy memories of my trip - which feels like forEVER ago now.

So, we needed a pick me up since it was mid-afternoon and we still had a long day ahead of us. MK was open until 3 AM this night and we headed straight for Sleepy Hollow.





Now, I wanted to head over to the newly refurbished bakery... but the parade was going to start soon and I was not making any effort to get around on Main Street that day. I reluctantly ordered an iced coffee - french vanilla. It was exactly what I expected. A super sugary caffeinated drink. It tasted just like an iced flavored coffee from McDonalds or those kinds you can buy in the cartons now from the grocery store. I was not a fan.

I wish I had been hungry right at that moment to try one of those waffles. I've been teased non-stop all over the DIS Boards with the delicious looking photos. Unfortunately, we never made it back over here and I had made my husband a promise for our dinner...





We ordered ice cold bottles of water - I don't normally like paying out of pocket for water, but it's my go to drink and it was really hot. We also chose to split an order of fries which I thought were great. I think they were the only fries I had on the trip?... maybe I'm wrong, but I really can't remember having any other fries! I ordered my corn dog nuggets and he had a Chicago dog. He had been dying for a Chicago dog for weeks before this. I had never had one, but I tried some of the topping on one of my nuggets and thought it was tasty. I mean, hot dogs and fries are pretty standard food and I wasn't unhappy with my order... it's more of a tradition to just get here at least once on the trip than it really is about the food.

I just want to say real quick how happy I am that you are all enjoying my report! I was truly looking forward to sharing this experience with you guys, and I feel so welcomed and it's only my first one.

So here it is - the event and only reason I got a travel agent. One of my best friend's is related to a TA and the moment I heard she was included in the Disney price and that she'd call non-stop for reservations, I had to have her. The Wishes Dessert Party was an absolute priority for me and it HAD to be on July 3rd. They hadn't announced the Limited Time Magic stuff for Independence Week so I thought I HAD to have the ADRs for the 3rd to see the "special" show. I was very upfront about this with my TA and she understood me very well. This event doesn't have a specific release date to make ADRs but it's generally about 90 days in advance. But - not always. My TA called me the day they were announced and told me she had reserved my spot on the 3rd.

So was it worth it?

We arrived around 7:45/8 for our 8:15 reservations. Apparently everyone had the same idea since it was crazy pouring.... CRAZY pouring. Like, I was worried that they would have to delay or even cancel the show.

I was so far back in line that by the time I could take a pic, I was being rushed by everyone behind me. People just weren't in a magical mood that night. But, once we got our table in the very front! Unfortunately, because of the rain, our table was pushed back AWAY from the railing - I knew that people would be getting up to watch the show so I was really hoping that we would just have an advantage. Oh well. Here's our gorgeous view.



It was beautiful. I took a million pictures of the castle.



There are my favorite two pictures. I absolutely loved the patriotic coloring!

So I won't lie, the buffet seemed kind of shabby and people were really pushy. The plates were too small for an all you can eat dessert...

Here's my plate.



Starting with the chocolate covered strawberry and going clockwise we have some sort of berry cake, mango shooter, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate graham cracker cake, and a creme brulee. The BEST thing was the chocolate covered strawberry. Wow. Delicious. It tasted fresh and magical and I definitely had one more of these. The cakes were fine and the mango shooter was pretty awesome. The creme brulee was a major disappointment. It was basically all liquid... not even creme-y! I also had a raspberry lemonade and coffee to drink.

Here's the husband's plate.



Some of the same things but also a canolli and some sort of peanut butter cup thing. He liked both - but nothing really stood out to him at all. He had the same drinks as I had.

Overall, the view is phenomenal and it was much better than standing on the crowded Main Street - especially on a holiday like that. You couldn't hear the sound very well for the show so that was kind of disappointing. I don't know why they wouldn't have it pumped through some of the speakers on the terrace. The desserts were kind of meh, but for the price - just eat a few of the chocolate covered strawberries and it's totally worth it. I don't know if I'll ever rush to sign back up for this event, but it was a wonderful experience and definitely something you should do at least once!

The dessert party was initially going to be a limited time thing, but it caught on and they kept it around. It was great to do once, and maybe I'll want to do it again when I have kids. There was an ice cream bar that I didn't partake in that I'm suurrrreee kids would absolutely love. The only tricky thing is the reservations. They don't really have a set time that you can book. It's kind of frustrating. I'm hoping that they fix it up and get people more interested in it. I really wanted it to be amazing.

Time for another breakfast review! This morning we hopped on a bus and headed to HS again to get on a boat to go to the Yacht Club!





We were a bit early, but we were able to be seated right away at the Captain's Grille. I had heard great things and a lot of nothing about this place. I heard the buffet was delicious but the single items on the menu looked super tempting.





The atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and elegant. There weren't many people there and our waiter wasn't really present either....



There was a very cool window right behind our table.



Now, first things first. We ordered the press pot of coffee. I thought it was pretty tasty. But that could be just be because of how tired I was since MK was a late night.



My husband had the lobster omelet - butter-warmed lobster, asparagus, chive-infused cream and captain's potatoes. He thought it was tasty, but he was still all sorts of obsessed with our trip to Kouzzina.



I ordered the tailored omelet - your choice of Meats, Vegetables, and Cheese served with Roasted Potatoes and a Biscuit. I ordered it with all the veggies available... I want to say that included peppers, mushrooms, onions... ya know, normal veggies. And I had cheese too. The omelet wasn't too amazing. I was tempted to have the dark chocolate waffles, but with how well Tonga Toast went I wasn't about to risk it.



Neither of us were all that impressed with the potatoes. My biscuit was pretty good, but not as good as the croissant from Kouzzina. (Maybe I was a bit in awe of the place too... )

Now, neither of us are dying to get back to Captain's Grille. The service was kind of nonexistent and the food was nothing to write home about. I'd go again if I was in the area - maybe try the buffet. It's the view that got us when we left and headed to EPCOT for the day.



I definitely want to stay at the Beach or Yacht Club next time we go. The short walk to EPCOT, the gorgeous views, and the short walk to Kouzzina are all a sell for us.

Happy Belated Fourth of July!



We hit up Test Track that morning since we missed it earlier and went on Nemo again. I don't know what it is about that ride, but I can't get enough of going under the sea with Nemo and Friends!

We decided to start making our way around the World Showcase, starting with Canada since we had gone to Mexico earlier in the trip. I decided to try the Torontopolitan. My husband was tempted to have a Moosehead but he had one here in WI and he wasn't all that impressed with it. So he decided to wait. The server advised me that it wasn't in slush form yet, but I didn't really care either way. It was early and it wasn't all that hot so it was alright.





I wasn't really impressed with it. Maybe I would have liked it more in slush form. The glass was kind of annoying since it was sort of flimsy plastic and the taste was alright. It wasn't too "alcohol-y". I may try it again in the future, but when it's ready and slushy.

Next was England.



I absolutely love the architecture in England. My husband knew exactly what building he wanted to go into first... any guesses?? The pub of course!



Mike couldn't decide what he wanted. He had already had Guinness, Strongbow, and Stella at home. So the bartender suggested that he make him his own specialty. This consisted of half of Stella Artois and the other half Bass.



And just look how pleased he is.



We were off to a great start that morning!

It was hot and time for a snack... and we were in France!



This picture looks like it's going to rain and be awful... it was just cloudy for a bit and cleared up. We stopped in L'Artisan des Glaces.









We both got our own scoops. I was tempted to try the alcohol tasties... but I resisted. I got a scoop of strawberry sorbet in a dish and Mike got a scoop of Pistachio ice cream in a waffle cone.



These were FANtastic! Absolutely amazing. The place was cute and the CMs were friendly. This will be a stop on every vacation - for sure.

Enjoying your reviews. I've always thought about Captain's Grille for breakfast, since we normally stay at the beach club. The lobster omelet is something I might try. It's too bad it wasn't spectacular, though. That gelato in France looks yummy.

Great reviews - I have the Torontopolitan on my list of drinks to try when Drinking Around the World in March. I will have to remember to make sure it is fully slushed before I have it
