Happy Thanksgiving to one and all and your loved ones! I am thankful for you all and what you have added to my life these past couple of years. I hope we stick together for many more to come.

Bruce & I are dying!!! That's hilarious, dude. Happy Thanksgiving to all the BOTS out there!!! :grouphug:

I had to break my man out...it's been too long. Hooked him up with a little Mile Standish hat and he was good to go.

No Turkey Trots for me today but I did manage to get in 3.1 miles (about a 5K) this morning. Wore the brightest clothes I could find to avoid the shotgun shells going off in the distance.

Happy Thanksgiving! Matt and I are getting ready to head out for a 5k this morning. I hope all Bots and their families have a great day!

Thinking about all my dear BOT friends today.:)

Thank you all for the laughs, fun and friendship.:grouphug:

Good morning folks!

Thinking about Cam and Howard, Judy and Charlie this morning on the Magic. I hope you all are having a great time!:dance3:

We had a nice Thanksgiving break. It was a good 'reset' for us. I made a nice little feast of beast on Thursday for my little family and then last night we went out for dinner with friends and then went to their house and sat around a firepit sipping appertifs.:thumbsup2

Today is Christmas tree day, gingerbread cookie day and decorating the house day.

Have a good day.

Happy Monday After Thanksgiving Long Weekend Bots!!!:sad2::sad1::mad:.

Ugh.

Tell me about it. Nothing like trying to get motivated to work after a weekend of stuffing my face and doing close to nothing.

Got in 4 miles today as I try to get back to some form of a training regiment. Logged a mighty 3 miles last week. I am dealing with some form of cold/congestion thing. Haven't slept much in the past 3 days because of it. Felt good to run as it seemed to clear the airways for a while.

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Lou

Good Morning Bots.

Trying to get back into the swing of work after having the last 11 days off. Starting off on the DIS. I have to ease into this.

I've had a few good runs in the last week. I ran a 5K Turkey Trot on Thursday. 24:03, which is a bit slower than last year, but it was a fun race. I ran into a lot of people I know which is a switch from most races I run. On Sunday I went out for 6 miles. My legs were very sore either left overs from the Turkey trot, or newly sore from the Jillian Michael's DVDs I did on Saturday and Sunday. I still managed a good pace. On Monday I went out for 12 as part of my back 2 back Goofy training. I felt really good for the first 10, but struggled a bit over the last 2. Still good to have it done. I don't normally run 2 days in a row so I was glad to see I could do it.

CindyLou - What have you heard about that really cold marathon in CapeCod in Feb/Mar.? . How far are you from like, Springfield? Any good 1/2 marathons up your way in the winter? Ever heard anything about the New Hampshire marathon???

Jodi: The only marathon at the Cape I know of during the winter is Hyannis in February. I ran it last year. It's a great race. I'm about 90 minutes from Springfield. The only 1/2 I can see on the calendar during the winter is Hyannis. There's a 30K on March 7th in Clinton, MA. I plan to do that one. I don't know anything about the NH marathon. I can imagine it's hilly based on its location.

Lou: Feel better soon.

Colleen: Gingerbread cookie day sounds awesome.

I must do some work. Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Hello Bots. Welcome back everyone after the thanksgiving break. Cindy and I went to San Diego for the break to visit my family. We had a good time doing the usual stuff: eating, drinking beer and playing board games.

On Saturday afternoon we went to Stone Brewery to eat, drink and take a tour. Stone is a pretty highly rated craft brewery. Their motto is something like, if you don't like our beer we don't care, it just means that you don't have good taste in beer. The tour was pretty interesting and it was followed by a free tasting.

I think that Cindy and I tried all of the beers they brew on site, but my favorite was probably the Arrogant ******* Ale or maybe the Ruinator IPA (it is so hoppy it ruins your taste buds). The food was pretty good too. Lots of local sausages and stuff. A friend of mine from high school, makes a beer cheese that goes into a few dishes in the restaurant.

Anyway, after all that drinking and eating it was hard to get back into running, but I'm trying. It doesn't help that the weather is getting cold. 31 degrees this morning, ugh.

Interesting. the boards filtered out the word *******. I guess I should have said that I liked the "arrogant person born of unmarried parents ale"

Matt: Thanks for making the ******** more clear. I was filling in my own words, but couldn't figure which one made most sense for an ale.

Matt - I've actually had that beer before and my BiL gave me a mug one year with Arrogant ******* Ale on it. Your sentiments on drinking/eating/cold basically sum up where I am with running right now. Couple that with extremely short days, work, and pending holidays and I wonder how I am going to run 38.3 miles at WDW in just over a month. Who cares? I'll race you and every BOT out there to the Biergarten after the marathon.

Doves, hawks and giraffes Oh My.

Last Sunday I had a 12 mile run planned and headed to Rye Wilderness Park for my half-way point. I took the camera with me and documented some of the wildlife along the way.

First up was a batch of morning doves on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, they were dead as it appears someone dumped the birds and spent shotgun shells on a new portion of sidewalk. What a waste.

Next, I found a red shouldered hawk that was watching from telephone lines.

And finally, I came upon the Giraffes.

Next trip out that way I'll try to get more pictures.

Chester - What is UP with the dead doves & shotgun shells? That's heinous...those people should be shot!

Chester - Awesome pics! I need to run with my camera phone so I can snap shots like that on the trail through the wildlife management area near my house. Last week I had to jump over some deer guts that some hunter decide to deposit on the trail. Jodi would have loved that picture. I'm looking forward to hearing about your back to back cross country marathons.
