~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Lou~ Sorry, but I snagged the Caesar Rodney Logo from you. I know, I'll havew to let you beat me in the race to make up for it. No problem there. ;) Good job on the run today in this wind... It was tough to walk in.

Jodi~ Bon Voyage! I am Cam's agent and request that you send a $10,000 retainer toot-sweet. I'll make sure it's applied to your balance when the time is right. :rolleyes1

No news for me just yet. My appt is next Tuesday. More to report then. Right now I just feel like I'm gaining weight by the day and losing all semblance of fitness that I once had. I can't wait to get it all back!

:grouphug:

Dave?? Dave? Please check in. Even though I live in NY I'm still not exactly sure where you are up there. Please check in. :sad1:

Judy, Dave's in Rochester, so he is in the Buffalo vicinity and therefore I'd also appreciate a roll call from him:rolleyes1 Come on Dave, you know we  and need to know you're alright:grouphug: Please don't keep us in suspense any longer popcorn:: !!

Hi Everyone, I'm fine. I'm actually in DC right now for a conference. I flew out of Rochester on Thursday, and I woke up this morning to hear of the plane crash in Buffalo. Very, very scary... I've definitely flown from that airport before. It's so very sad for all those that have died and their families.

OK Dave, thanks for checking in. We worry, you know. :goodvibes

I am now exiting this thread since I can't be here. I had my Bots removed in 1987. :lmao:

Mike - Dig you snag some free shoes yesterday popcorn::?
Sara - No luck there. By the time I logged on (3AM, midnight PST) the system was jammed up with other cheapskates and I couldn't even register.

Lou - Don't blame me for the hills. Well, O.K. I've been thinking about them because of Nashville.

Judy - Don't you know that Bots regenerate? Just when you think they're gone for good, Poof!

Dave - Glad to hear you're safe and sound. Any running in our nation's capital?

DD8 got a big haircut last night and donated to the Locks of Love. She looks great and she hasn't stopped smiling yet.

Let's see. Training reports... I'm in negotiations with the manager at a local gym (I'm thinking he's going to win since the rates are already dirt cheap) so I had to break out my bike yesterday and hit the road. The wind was wicked and my gluteus assimus hurt when I was done but 14 miles on a bike is much quicker than on foot!

Then I hit the road for a 16 mile LR this morning. The wind was still BRUTAL! and I was beaten by mile 10 but managed to soldier on for the last 6.

Jodi should be gone now, right? Let's talk trash!

Hey Mike, I ran yesterday from my hotel, around the mall and tidal basin. Wow, that wind was killer. It was nice that it was warm though. I'm going to change and head out again now...

Hi Bots! I’ve missed you! I finally caught up on the thread.

Jodi – Sorry that I missed wishing you a great trip before you left. I hope you are having a fantastic time on your cruise!

Dave – I never commented on your new kitty! Cute pictures! It was great to see you last night!

Mike – I seem to remember reading that your birthday was today – am I right? If so, happy birthday! Also, you asked about the National Half a few pages back. I’m still definitely running it, just not expecting a great time.

Chester – I loved your cat story (yes, I was really that behind on this thread). I can just picture all the other cats staring up at that one spot. That’s how we always know if there is a bug in our condo – the 3 cats will be sitting around and staring at it.

Howard – I hope you get good news at the POD next week.

Cindy – Good luck next weekend! Please check in and let us know how it goes!

Lou – Glad you had fun on your mud run!

A big hi to Jen, Colleen, Sara, and Cam and anyone else I may have missed.

As for me, not much is going on in the running department. I haven’t run since Sunday and I think before that, it was the Sunday before. I’ve been pretty sick all week (fever and congested) and also really busy at work (which is good, because I would be freaking out if I wasn’t busy since lots of big law firms have started laying off people). I will try to run again tomorrow.

Matt and I have big Costco shopping plans for today (going to Costco now makes me think of Mike) and are actually going to give in to the Valentine’s Day nonsense and go out for a nice dinner tonight. (Not that our dinner last night wasn’t nice – we had Dave to keep us company!)

Matt asked that I tell everyone hi. I guess he’s just too lazy to post.

Wow - I really killed this thread.

Nothing to report for me. I didn't run at all this weekend for no reason other than sheer laziness.

Hi Cindy - :wave2: I'm here too. No running to report for me this weekend either. Also, sheer laziness creeping in. I really need to come up with a training plan for the Pittsburgh Marathon, or it's going to be painful.

You know, I couldn't remember if you had seen pictures of my new kitty. I remembered that Matt had replied on the thread. I had some on my iPhone. He's a great cat.

Jodi, are you eating creme brulee or key lime pie now???:confused3

I am still wallowing in jealousy of Jodi's cruise...:cloud9:

Hello~ Just a quick post. I hope everyone is well. I miss you all!

I hope Jodi is having fun and tripping the light fantastic on her cruise! :boat:

I see my podiatrist in just 9 hours and 15 minutes and will post the results of my visit tomorrow. I hope it includes that I can begin to run again.

I biked and lifted at the YMCA the last two nights. Yesterday 6.33 miles in 24:41, tonight 6.33 miles in 25:00. I am really building up the muscle in my thighs with this biking. I may look like Bruce in a few days if this keeps up. :rolleyes1

Or? Or? She's on a cruise. I thought it was mandated by some sea-going law that you had to eat BOTH!

Cindy - Good to hear from you again. Did you get a Berry Sundae at Costco in my honor?

Dave - Training plan? Have Jodi do you one up when she gets back. Hers sound more fun than mine and she gets better results!

Speaking of Jodi... Now that she's not around for a bit I can say this. Did you know that she thinks... ETA: Deleted to preserve my physical well being.

This week is a wonderful step-back week on the schedule. No LR, no speedwork. Just 4 x 7 mile fun runs. Yippee!

My wonderful wife surprised me with membership to the place where she goes this past weekend. Much nicer than the gym I was considering. I went this morning and got some XT in.

Gotta go!

Good Morning Everyone: I had the best TM run ever yesterday. I missed the first episode of Survivor last week because I was out of town. I downloaded it onto my iPhone before my run. Wow, that was a great way to run on the TM - watching Survivor. Jen and Butch you are on to something there. :thumbsup2

Howard- Good luck with the podiatrist. I'll be curious to hear what he says.

Mike- Have fun with the new gym membership. 4x7 mile fun runs this week? Wow, that's a lot more mileage during a week than I have done in a long time.

Colleen- I'm wallowing right there with you. I mean, I'm hoping Jodi's having a great time. Have you ever been on a Disney cruise?

Hi Cindy and Matt :wave2:

Howdy Chester and Lou :wave2:

Sara- How are things going for you? We haven't heard from you in a while. Are you swamped with tax season?

Thinking of Lou reminded me, when I left the gym yesterday I had a flat tire. It reminded me of my Philly Half Marathon celebration at Pep Boys.

Cindy - Don't stress too much about the job situation. If you are busy that is a very good thing. Glad you are getting back on track with the running.

Howard - Good luck with the foot doctor. I bet you cannot wait to run.

Mike - Enjoy the step back week and the new gym. When and where is your next race?

Dave - Survivor on the TM? Sounds good. I guess anything that takes your focus off running in the same place for 30-60 minutes is a good thing. I HATE the TM. I tried watching reruns of West Wing that I have on DVD for a while and that kind of worked.

Jen - Are you guys running anything local in the Spring?

Hey Cam, Colleen, Sara, Chester, Cindylou (I remember seeing a post from you recently)!

Got in 4 miles at 9mpm pace this morning. It was 25 degrees out but I refuse to get back on the TM.

Lou

I am still wallowing in jealousy of Jodi's cruise...:cloud9:

Me too Colleen! Actually, right now, I'm jealous of anyone who is anywhere warm.

Howard – I hope your visit to podiatrist went well and that you are given the all clear to run.

Mike – no berry sundae for me – I prefer the fro yo plain. I remember when 7 milers seemed like short runs - How quickly I have fallen.:sad2:

Dave – glad you had a good run, but, seriously, your running seems to be hazardous to your car's health! Matt and I are also big Survivor fans. For whatever reason, season after season, the show stays interesting. But nothing compares to my favorite reality show – Amazing Race. I love that show. Do any other Bots watch it?

Lou – I think it was about 25 here this morning too – wind chill was 17. I’ll take that over the treadmill any day.

I finally have something to report – I ran this morning!! (Minor miracle) I think it was actually my first weekday run in over 2 weeks (and first run at all since two Sundays ago). I only ran 4 miles, but at least it was something.

My car is 12 years old and has 160k miles on it. I think I need to heed the signs. It's time is up... I just wish I had money to replace it.

I love Amazing Race. I really just started watching it closely the last couple of seasons. It's really grown on me though. I would love to be in the Amazing Race.

I've watched Amazing Race a few times but haven't seen it in a while. Ever since I got an HDTV I find myself watching these Natl Geographic, Discovery and History channel programs at night because they look and sound so cool on HDTV. I am fascinated by this show where this guy gets dropped into these remote places and lives off the land for like a week. I think it's called Surviorman. He must be some former marine because he eats just about anything and can survive anywhere. He was in Alaska this weekend. I guess this show is like the real version of Amazing Race and Survivor because he has to hike or kayak out of these remote areas without any help.
