~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Being a Steeler fan, I could sit back and enjoy the Eagle fans venting their wrath at McNabb. I have to say Steeler fans are pretty hard on their QBs too. In the period between Bradshaw and Roethlisberger many a QB had been run out of town. Snow balls thrown at Cliff Stoudt when he came back with the USFL. Lot's of nastiness spewed at Kordell Stewart too.

Dave - We even had an ex-Steeler, Bubby Brister, at QB for a year and I remember the fans liking him because he was a "blue collar" QB. I even have an autographed Bubby card on DS's bedroom wall.

When i lived in PA we got to watch the Steelers almost every week as our AFC game. I moved 20 minutes to NJ and now get stuck watching the Jets. Does anyone like the Jets?

Cindy - Never thought I'd see people from DC behind the Eagles. Tell Matt that we actually have a Chargers fan in my house. Somehow DS decided this year he was getting behind the Chargers and stuck with them the whole season. He'll get kicked out of the house if he doesn't convert back if the Eagles miraculously meet the Chargers in the Super Bowl.

I like your Goofy nightmare.

It's more of a Giants-hating than an Eagles-loving sort of thing (remember, I'm from New England) (Also, Matt hates Eli because of his dissing the Chargers).

Your DS must have been so excited on Saturday night, Matt was going crazy!

It would be amazing to see a Philly/San Diego Super Bowl - the battle of the two teams that barely made it to the playoffs.

I see...interesting. Last year's Super Bowl was very difficult. I found that there were many Eagles fans, like me, that rooted for the Giants because we disliked the Pats for the whole Brady/Belichick/videotaping/Super Bowl thing. However, we universally hate Eli and don't love Peyton much either. If I were from SD I would REALLY hate Eli. Lets just hope Brian Dawkins gets one clear shot at Eli before the game is over.

Dave: thanks for asking-- I'm doing ok. My dad is home and feeling good. I'm just really tired, my mom is going through her own medical mess right now too and I'm an only child and a doctor, so I get the brunt of complaints, stress, etc. I'm feeling really burned out and am hoping my enthusiasm returns once we land in FL. I am looking forward to the marathon partly because I know for roughly 5-6 hours all I will have to think about is putting one foot in front of the other and not falling over-- that I know I can handle ;) Thanks for your concern, I think I'll feel better after a good night sleep which I hope to get tonight.

Bonjour Bots!

Jen - Sorry you are being pulled so many different ways. This weekend should be just the break you need. Well, except for that stupid marathon thing.

Cindy - Also sorry to hear that your runs have been less than stellar. No pressure this weekend, so having fun is the name of the game.

You tell Matt that, while not running the full seems like a pretty good idea, walking around WDW sporting that shiny Goofy medal is a REALLY sweet feeling!! Plus, Jodi will start calling him all sorts of emasculating names.

Lou - I can't tell you how many times I counted the Eagles out this year. That alone makes me have to root for them. I also admire any team that currently has a head coach and a GM (unlike the Browns :headache: ).

Jodi - Are you going to even pretend to try to find any of us before the race Saturday AM?

Dave and Howard - I thought of you both in church Sunday. Sinners!! No really, the priest was talking about the Catholic church in the U.S. being a church of immigrants. First from Europe, but "now from Africa, Asia, Central America, Brazil, and even Pittsburgh." :lmao: We've got a lot of folks from Pittsburgh in our area.

Must've been some sort of preistly dare:
Preist #1 - "I dare you to pick on all those PA folks."
Preist #2 - "Oh yeah?"
Preist #1 - "I double dog dare you!"
Narrator - "NOW it was serious. A double-dog-dare. What else was there but a "triple dare ya"? And then, the coup de grace of all dares, the sinister triple-dog-dare."

I guess I saw A Christmas Story one too many times last month!

I got out for a leisurely 6 miles Monday morning. I may shoot for one more run before the weekend if time allows (that's a pretty impossible if at this point) but won't be too upset if it doesn't happen.

Jen - It sounds like you've got a lot of stress right now. I hope that you were able to get a good night's sleep last night.

Heading out for 5 in the "light wintery mix" should be fun!

Hello Southward-Hooooo BOTS (except Lou & Steve, but Steve doesn't really count because he doesn't post here anymore even though he promised that he would & said that we'd be hearing more from him in the New Year & some other idle, shallow, chatter that hasn't come to fruition....phew :rolleyes1 .

Where to begin? I'll start with me first in case I get sidetracked & run out of steam :rotfl: ....OK, now that we've covered my training report, let's get started.

Jen - Hang in there, it'll get better. Did you ever really believe that running would help with stress?:thumbsup2 You're actually looking forward to covering 26.2 miles!:yay:

Mike - Ya know, not only was I going to meet up with everyone on Sat. a.m., but I was actually going to go to the WISH Meet @ POP on Fri. night AND come out early on the a.m. of the marathon to see you guys off, AND switch my flight on Sunday so I could hook up with everyone after your run...but after your comment? Forget it :snooty: . Oh, and one more thing I'm having trouble with...church? You? I guess they let you in because of Kathy & the girls :confused3 . Stop running, you'll be doing enough of that very soon.:rotfl:

Cindy - Tell Matt to take the running-skirt off, put on a pair of shorts & GET OUT THERE!:rotfl2:

Lou - The Cloud & I are officially on the Eagles bandwagon & firmly believe that they will make it to the Superbowl!:dance3: Great games next weekend! We'll miss you in WDW :grouphug: :sad1: .

Dave - All ready to run with me?:yay:

Colleen - Glad your heel is feeling better! Your new sneakers suck! Can't wait to meet your phantom husband popcorn:: .

Sara - RU bringing your dog with you? Pool guy? Remember, no treadmill moving the night before a big race, it makes you weak :rolleyes1 .

Chester - When are you throwing anchor & heading up?

Steve - .....never mind.

Howard & Cam - :yay: :woohoo: How excited ARE you guys??? I can't believe the big day is almost here! Lots & lots of planning :scared: .

Dave - All ready to run with me?:yay:
You bet Jodi. Did I hear right, you are coming to the Pop Meet on Friday? Do you need a ride at all? I'll have a car. Also I have space for Saturday's lunch. By the way, I told you I'm planning on recording a mile by mile report for the Podcast from the half marathon. So I expect lots of chattering and banter from you along the course if we're running together.

Dave - Oh yeah, yep, I'll be @ the POP meet with bells on! Make sure they do me up a nice, big, "tricked out" name tag, OK? I should be good with rides here & there, but I'll let you know if I need to thumb it.

As far as the Podcast recording, you can definitely count on me for some positive feedback & ramblings, I appreciate the opportunity to participate! We can talk about the joys of running & all the health benefits that go along with such a terrific sport! And of course we can discuss the camaraderie you feel being with such a large group of like-minded people. Anything I can do to help encourage others, via the podcast, to begin a healthier lifestyle for 2009, would be very rewarding!

Hey Dave and Jodi - Can I run behind you guys? I'd love to hear Jodi's positive encouragement and words of wisdom:rotfl:

What corral is everyone in?:hyper:

I think I am in B (Wave 1) for the half and C (Blue) for the full.

OK, WHO are you and WHAT have you done with JODI!!:confused3

Oh, there you are! Now that is the Jodi we know and love!:lovestruc

How the EFF are we supposed to figure out what freakin' wave we're in anyway??? I say we just all start together, no matter what!

Howard & Cam - :yay: :woohoo: How excited ARE you guys??? I can't believe the big day is almost here! Lots & lots of planning :scared: .

We are getting excited about the trip (understatement of the year)!

However we had a snag last night. On her way home from work, someone decided they were too far over the white line at a stop light and decided to throw it into reverse and hit the gas to back up - not seeing Cam's car in the rearview mirror. She is doing fine, thank God! No injuries, just shaken by the experience.

After waiting for the Police to show up for over an hour, they never came, we ended up cancelling the call with some Police officers who stopped heading to another call. Cam had contacted Progressive (the other driver's insurance company) about the insured driver and to make a report, they said it was okay to leave and we went home.

I followed Cam home and stopped to pick up any pieces of her car that hit the black-top along the way.

Fast forward to arriving home, the car wasn't sounding so good and it was smoking from the smashed in grill area. Fast forward some more, the other driver's insurance lapsed in December. So, they do not have insurance despite being told last night by Progressive that they did. :headache:

So now we have to deal with getting her car estimated, to a body shop, etc. on top of all of the other details for this trip which seem endless at this point.

Running the Half (for her) and the Trifecta for me are not taking front and center in our minds right now. :rolleyes1

Looking forward to seeing those of you that will be traveling to WDW. We leave Thursday AM from PHL and will be at the Expo on Thursday afternoon (Noon-ish?) for anyone that will be there.

:grouphug:

Howard

What corral is everyone in?:hyper:

HALF Now: Corral F, Wave 3 Changing to: Corral B, Wave 1

FULL Now: Corral E, Red Changing to: Corral C, Blue

I hope that the Track Shack folks will move me when I speak to them at the Expo on Thursday. They have given me every indication that they will.

:grouphug:

Howard

Howard - What a pain in your A$$!! Oh man! I'm glad Cam is OK, though, that's the important part. Listen, I know it's cliche, but the car is just a hunk of metal, you've got insurance, it'll get fixed. Other than meeting the adjuster & getting it to the repair shop & dealing with one less car, it's all good. Now don't give it another thought, it'll play out the way those things do. Now...this weekend...back to those thoughts for you two!

Howard - I'm so glad that Cam is ok! That really sucks. Not what you should have to be dealing with right now.

OK, I'm in corral B, Wave 1. At least that's what some little bird with a new lap top told me ;)

Howard - That's simply awful:scared1: !! So glad Cam's fine and it's just your car that's a bit banged up:headache: . The last thing you needed was extra items on your 'to do' list this week so hopefully it won't be too involved for you.

Jodi - :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Am I even going to see you in WDW at allpopcorn:: ? I'm in Saturday around 6:00 p.m.:thumbsup2 I'll TEXT you when I'm there since I know you're all about that:hippie:

Jen - Keeping your Dad in our thoughts and prayers:hug: Hoping you're feeling good about this weekend:goodvibes

Cindy - Tell Matt I'm doing the full with basically no training so he most certainly has zero excuse not to pull it off himself;) He should know we'd never let him live it down:laughing:

DH is leaving for Vegas in the a.m. so I'm on solo duty with DD's and the puppy until I bail for Orlando Saturday afternoon:scared:  :scared1: By Saturday I may be feeling like 26.2 is a cake walk compared to the solo parent gig:confused3 Ice cream sundaes for dinner for the duration of the week:thumbsup2

Travel safe:grouphug:
