We had orginally booked a deluxe club room. I couldn't believe it when they showed us to our room. I asked a CM why we got the upgrade, he said that if the room is available and it works out schedule wise they try to upgrade guests. He also mentioned that sometimes they overbook a room category and that might be another reason. I'm just glad we got it!

Dis Ohana - what great pics, and what an awesome upgrade you had at the BWI! I forget sometimes how pretty that hotel is - that's my kind of style. ;) Thanks so much for sharing the pics - and that Presidential Suite - WOW!

Now you have me wondering if I want to change my split stay in Dec. from AKL CL/GF to BWI/GF! :rotfl: The one time we stayed at the BWI it was December - the decorations were gorgeous! :thumbsup2

We stayed at the AKL CL too, that hotel is AWESOME!! We loved the Sunrise Safari and the savannah view room was amazing. All that said though, if we had to book again I'd do a BWI / GF split. The BWI and GF level of service was just so much better than at the AKL. And being so close to our favorite park, Epcot, was just great. My kids are older, 12 and 15, so being on the boardwalk was perfect for them. Always something to do. Either way, you can't lose!

We stayed at the BWI in October. First time, and like it. Our room was above the arcade, second from the end, I think it was room 3126.

Best part IMHO::)
Balcony over the water
Closeness to MGM and Epcot
Saw a fellow DIS member's door decorated down the hall from us.

Worst par IMHO::sad2:
Shared buses with Swan/Dolphin
Our room was was at the end of the building and it was a hike to get to the elevators.

We would stay again, actually trying to convince DH to buy DVC resale and have our home resort here.

Thanks for posting all the pictures! We stayed in August and my mom and I wondered what it would be decorated like at Christmas!

We just returned last evening from another fantastic stay at the BWI. We were in Club Level with all the fantastic Cast Members.:thumbsup2 We had a great view of illiuminations from our balcony which over-looked the courtyard. The outside of the Innkeepers lounge is under construction so you were not permitted to view the fireworks from there. On the Boardwalk side, they have tarps midway between the 3rd and 4th floor of Club level. The Innkeepers lounge will be under construction for 3 weeks starting July 6th. Then they will start working on the rooms.:cool1: Looking forward to our return trip May 19th.

We will be there the first week of March. Do you know what type of construction may be happening about that timeframe? Thanks!

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me with this question. I am looking at making reservations for Oct 08 in Concierge Deluxe. I read on this thread that all the Deluxe Concierge rooms had a boardwalk view (but the standard concierge rooms could have other views). But when I went to make me reservation, the description said this "Standard View, Concierge Deluxe Rooms include additional TV/Armoire, two queen-size beds and one queen-size sleeper sofa and offer views of a garden or parking area.".

I didn't know that there were Deluxe Concierge rooms with a standard view of a parking lot? There were no other view options for me to select. Help...

Thanks.

We just got back a few months ago and we were told and we had a Deluxe Concierge room that was a water view. You can always contact the BWI yourself - the phone number is on the first page of this thread.

Most of the construction is on the outside right now. They were doing the roof over the bus stop, the pavillion on the way to Epcot, and the area over Spoodles. This includes the 3rd & 4th floor. This was painting and touching up the balconies. The inside work will not happen till mid summer.

This is a good news and bad news report. Our family strayed for the first time at BWI for a week in room 3267. In general, we enjoyed our stay. This was our first time at the Boardwalk. We liked the location with it' proximity to Epcot and Holywood Studios. However, the lack of breakfast facitlites and the transportion situation to other locations was not as good as we would have liked. Also, our room was a bit "tired". When you pay that much for the room, even though it is Disney, I feel you desire a bit better. Mousekeeping can't make up for worn out carpet and shutters falling off the balcony walls. It was also a bit of a hassle to deal with the shared bus service but probably no worse than other resorts we've stayed at. Would I stay there again? Probably not, but I'm glad we had the opportunity to experience the Inn. I realize that I'll probably be bashed for these comments but it's my opinion based on our recent stay. Would I discourage anybody from staying there? No. As with all WDW, there's always something new to learn and experience!

Just wondering if they're worth the extra money? Considering adding a few days onto our 25th Anniversary trip with just DH and me. We're already booked at GF but this might be a nice add-on. Would just like to hear some opinions about them and also the concierge service at BWI. Also, how far of a trek is it from one of the garden suites to the concierge lounge?

Thanks for any info you would share.:)

poohgirl6: I posted some pictures of the Garden Suites a few pages back, you might want to look at those. We loved our stay at the BWI, the Garden Suites were more than enough room for the 4 of us.
The walk to the concierge lounge wasn't so bad, there is a hidden staircase near the suites that takes you straight to the lounge area. The lounge is right above the suites, so if you walked the other way you'd be going back into the main building and up to the lounge.
The concierge service was wonderful! The staff there was so friendly and the lounge is very comfortable. If you do get one of the Garden Suites with a balcony, you can watch Illuminations from your own room. Otherwise the balcony from the lounge has the same view.

If you're looking to be closer to the lounge, you might want to check out one of the deluxe rooms. You'd be very close to the lounge and have a great view of the boardwalk.

Have fun!

Hi Dis Ohana, just read about your stay. Thanks so much for posting all those great photos. We are planning on going to WDW for the first time ever in December 2008. I am so excited I could burst. :woohoo:

Did you find it a hassle to get over to the MK in the mornings? Were the busses crowded?

I think we will stay at the BWI, but maybe make it a split stay and try another one of the resorts. Especially since you made moving sound like it is not too much of problem.

Thanks.

We didn't take the bus to MK while we were there. While at BWI was visited Epcot and MGM, and when we moved to GF we visited MK. Sorry I can't help you with that one.

Golfing Goofy I can answer your question on the bus to the MK. The bus in the morning over the MK isn't bad. After the stop at the BWI, then they make a stop at the Swan/Dolphin. The return trip is another story but you do have options. The bus does get very crowded on the way back. If you are one of the lucky ones and have to stand, you might consider getting off at the Swan and walk back. It is a very short walk. Also if the bus stop seems way too crowded, jump on the yacht/Beach club bus and walk back.
Usually the bus is very crowded at the end of the evening after fireworks or the spectromagic parade. You will love your stay at the BWI, especially if you are on the club level. The staff are the best around.:worship: We just came back from another great stay there and will be heading back on May 19th.:thumbsup2

All the deluxe concierge rooms are boardwalk view.

nascargirl: Thank you so much for the anwer :) I think that the boardwalk will be the perfect spot for us. We have two boys (9 & 11) and I think that they will enjoy really Epcot & DHStudios.

I am a little worried about the timing, we will probably be going at Thanksgiving and into the first week of December. We will stay on the Club level, so I am happy to hear that they are so awesome. I can't wait!!!! If you have any other recommendations/suggestions, I would be happy to hear them.

How close are the standard view club level rooms to the lounge?

bump

I would like to know the same thing. Also, which floor is the lounge on?

Thanks!
