I was so antsy on the plane on Wednesday morning. The big day had finally arrived...THE PIN CRUISE!! Peggie and I flew separately, and I had time to spare before I had to pick her up, so I headed straight to the airport TDS and traded for three lanyard pins!! Talk about good pin karma! I picked up Peggie and we headed to WDW for some marathon lanyard trading at AK and MGM where between us we traded for at least 20 lanyard pins. She wanted to stay longer, but I was anxious to get to the Port where everyone was gathering at the Radisson.
We had dinner at the restaurant at the hotel which was fair at best (I know I know...it was my idea to eat there), went to fill the car with gas so it could be turned in full in the morning, went back to the hotel where we bumped into Nancy and her friend Bette and after some how ya doin's, went to Dana's meet. Dana handed us a goodie bag with all kinds of special treats: Mickey and Minnie plush, t shirts and PINS which are FABULOUS (the official superlative of the Boa Brigade), especially the name pins that were individually made for each person who booked through her. Dana, thank you again!!
Well, the room was warm and after some feverish trading (maybe 10 minutes worth) a cool drink was in order so off to the bar went the Queen, Sir Michael, Sir Corey and Lady Peggie. A few cosmopolitans were ordered (the official libation of the Boa Brigade) and then back to the conference room for more pin trading.The room cleared out (geez, was it something I said?) so back to the bar to chitchat. That's when the terrible words were spoken .."sorry folks, we're out of cranberrry juice"! "What!! You ran out of cranberry juice? Is there a juice machine in the hotel? Can you run to Publix? Can you puree some cranberry sauce for crying out loud?" Well, the bartender was quick on her feet and ran to check and see if they had any left at the pool bar. She came back with two cans of cranberry juice that looked like they had been in the fallout shelter by the pool, but hey, juice is juice. All was again well within the Realm.
It was a fabulous day full of pin trading, reunions with dear friends and meeting new ones as the anticipation built toward what was to come.....
