At the end of August my cell phone contract with Bell expires so if I want I can upgrade my phone. Anyway my dad who has the Blackberry World Edition is telling me I should get the new Blackberry Storm, because it's got great internet access, an amazing camera and a lot of other great features. However I am not sure if I want it because I don't get enough e-mails to justify getting a Blackberry, although my dad says I can still use all the other features and it can be good when I do get some e-mails that I need to respond to. So what would you do if you had the choice to get this or not?

I know someone who just got a Storm, tried it for a few days and returned it because it was too slow. I would recommend that you test it out before you commit to buying it.

I was looking at the BB World phone yesterday. It's VERY expensive. If you don't need it, don't get it...

I forgot to mention the phone I have now is the Samsung SPH-m500 which I really like, so that's another reason why I am not sure about changing phones.

I have the Blackberry Curve. I can't live without it. Besides emails, I use it for browsing - I can even do Dis on my blackberry. It is also a pda (so I don't need to take my calendar etc with me). It works for me because I have a lot of waiting time (my daughter's activities mostly) and I can get my work and personal business done wherever I am stuck waiting.

One of the other features that came in handy was gps. I didn't have to buy a gps unit, and can pay for the service a month at a time ie. I have it set up and get billed for it only when we're travelling. I'm still finding things that I like about it -- it's a steep learning curve.

Sorry, I don't know much about the Storm. I chose not to get the World Phone because the price was pretty high (about $300 more than mine, but I got mine for $50 with a 3 year contract) and because I mostly travel only in the US and Canada - we'll do disposable phones if we go anywhere else. Also, I did want to have the camera even though I thought I wouldn't use it much. I was wrong - Whenever somebody does anything completely unbelievable, I snap a picture and send it right to facebook! Ahaha!

My brother also has the curve -- his office provides one to each of their employees. the new guys are getting the Blackberry Bold, not the Storm. Not sure why, but the info provided by the pp may be the reason.

Got the Storm..took it back. For me..just too much. Way more tekkie stuff than I needed. DH has one, loves it?? Only thing he complains about is the insufficient email capabilities?
:confused3

I'm on Telus and looked at the Storm as well .... but ended up getting the LG Dare instead and absolutely love it. Have you looked at the iPhone instead???

The more I think about it if I wanted a Blackberry I would switch my number to Rogers and get the Blackberry Bold, since it has a regular key pad and basically the same features as the Storm.
