MuNkY said:Pfft that's nothing. MCR only has ONE CD that's gone platinum. You may say, "oh well they only have released like 3 CDs" or whatever the ammount is. Well that's no excuse. Pretty much EVERY piece of music Creed released in their time as a band went Multi-platinum. Many, MANY bands have released CDs that have gone platinum so many times over it's just nuts. (See Back in Black and IV)
Don't tell me A LOT of people like MCR like they're the hottest thing ever until they're selling so many CDs that it's just stupid.
Also, just to drive home my point on only selling like 2 million cd's by their third release, lets just take a look at my favorite band. Motley Crue
By the end 1985, (when Theatre of Pain, their third relase, was released), Motley Crue's Too Fast for Love had gone gold, AKA, 500,000 sales. Shout at the Devil had gone platinum twice, aka, 2,000,000 sales, and Theatre of Pain had gone platinum twice as well. So in total, by Motley Crue's third release, and by the end of 1985, they had sold 4,500,000 CDs. Roughly.
Can I add that Motley Crue has been around for over 20 years and that MCR has only been around for like 4 years, so of course they will have more albums sold..
MCR is not that famous, most people I ask in my school if they know who they are they don't. 2 million albums may not seem a lot but it is. And finanlly I'd like to say this thread was for people that bought the album or are thinking of it, of course I am not saying that you can't come here and share your opinion on them I really don't mind, I just think it's kinda rude coming here and saying 'I wish they'd go away.'
Start with a smile...always best!
