The birds are back! UPDATE!

Remember that Oriole I mentioned hearing? Well I finally got to see it!

They like to stay at the very tops of the trees but this one was about a third of the way from the top.

The thistle socks were sold by Wal-Mart last year. I almost threw the ones I bought out but decided to keep them just in case they didn't carry them again. I'm glad I did. I haven't seen any at Wally world so far this Spring.


Last year we had a lot of Gold Finches and they returned to share another summer with us.

They are so much fun to watch and so colorful! We also had cowbirds, a flicker and cardinals today and I heard an Oriole but haven't been able to spot it yet.

Birds give me the heebie jeebies but I love to watch the cardinals from the window.

When I'm in the swimming pool and the black birds are chirping in the trees I get creeped out.

My mother let me watch THE BIRDS far to early in life I think.

Cardinals are the only thing I miss about living back East. They are just so beautiful. We have tons of hummingbirds and blue birds and lots of hawks.

The feeder is a thistle bag....and that's a goldfinch enjoying the thistle. beautiful picture.

Now hawks up close give me the heebie jeebies big time. We have one hawk that lives in the woods behind our house and I've seen him come and land on the light line right beside our pool. If he were to do that while I was in the pool I would probably freak.....LOL!

My DH and DS think its the funniest thing in the entire world to scare momma with birds. The sea gulls in Florida spook me to no end! Ugghh!!

Sea Gulls I can agree with but Hawks??? They are so stunning up close even from afar, It puts me in awe everytime I get to medicate one or even see one flying high in the sky.

Very nice! I saw the male rose-breasted grossbeak for the first time this year last night...beautiful bird and beautiful song. Once the weather decides to stay spring-like maybe I can leave the windows open and my birds can copy the oudoor birds.
