I have heard that the person who won ( sorry, I don't even know who that is ) has reagined all of the weight they lost on the show. If that is true, it really does show us how hard it is to break addictions with food, and get the mental part of healthy eating to be a part of us.

If so, it is so sad. :sad1:

EDIT... talking about whoever won season one.

not sure if that's true...I haven't heard anything about that! Last time I heard/saw Erik, he was in a "Got Milk" ad in People magazine and he looked pretty darn good! :thumbsup2

Sorry... meant season 1.

I did hear that the couple that got married after leaving the show, have started putting on pounds, but no "ALL" the weight. I don't think they were from the first season though?

Actually, I know that Suzy is now pregnant, so that would account for some weight gain. Matt, however, to the best of my knowledge, is still fit and trim! :)

Ooo forgot to add....the guy that won Season 1...can't remember his name off the top of my head, but he can be seen in a commercial for the Honda Pilot. IMO, he's not as big as he was, but he's not as thin as he was after winning, either.

They were on one of the shows from this past season. Suzy looked fine to me. Matt had gained some weight. I would not call him overweight but had definitely gained some.

It's really not surprising.

As much as I think the show is very inspirational to the viewer's, I have always felt there is something wrong with how quickly the contestants lose huge amounts of weight.

On top of winning money, they have a tiny bit of fame to go with it. So I am sure their lifestyle after the show is much different than before the show. Even though at the ranch, they are training themselves to eat for "life", the life is different than they expected.

If this is true, then it is really sad. But, it may mean the show has to look at the long term. Oh yeah, that's right, they only want the ratings while the show is on.

Weren't they on Season 2 though? I forget who the Season 1 winner was?

There was a Biggest Loser about high school kids just recently with Matt on it and he had definitely put some of the weight back on, but was looking much more fit than before Biggest Loser.

I can't remember who won Season 1.

Ryan won season 1.

He has a myspace account:
http://www.myspace.com/ryancbenson

His website is "under construction" but he does admit in his myspace he has gained back some pounds. He lists that his body type is 6'1"/with some extra baggage.

His twin babies are ADORABLE.

I'm with Disney1-the contestants really are loosing the weight way to fast. And statistically, a majority of people who take off a lot of weight will regain some if not most of it back. I take exception to the way the trainers train their clients on the show. They put them on a regimen that would be impossible to keep up in the real world-so really they are dooming their clients by training them that way. I am a trainer and am in training for my first century ride and I find it hard to do what I need to do to make that goal. I mean honestly, food issues aside, how many of you would be able to devote a solid hour to two hours every day to exercising? I have never had a client that was able or willing to workout 1-2 hours a day every day. The eating issues are hard enough, but getting people motivated to move is also hard. I have a feeling that the contestants find it very hard to keep those changes when they return to real life. I know one person (my dh) who has managed to lose 40lbs and keep it off for 2 years. The thing is, he fell in love with Taekwondo so every other exercise (including training for a century with me and loosing wieght) is all so he can be better at Taekwondo. He had a purpose. Lord knows me telling him to exercise and loose weight for his health was falling on deaf ears. You gotta have a goal other than loosing weight. I'll get off my soap box now.

Matt, the winner from season 1, gained back 60 pounds. The reason I know this is because Suzy is from Washington and I believe they have chosen to live here. Matt is doing a weight loss promo for a local work out club, Vision Quest. I see the adds in the newspaper and they have posters in the window as you walk by at the mall. It shows a picture of him before Biggest L and then one after, then one now and then a blank one for future.
