~ The Biggest Loser ~ FINALE ~ We have a winner!!!

Liz was getting on my last nerve. Granted, I haven't had a chance to watch last week's show yet since they don't put it on their website until the day of the next one, but that comment about real tears drove me up the wall.

I think Daniel's problem is that the body is just not meant to lose those kinds of numbers for such a prolonged period of time. They say a healthy rate of weight loss is typically 2lbs a day, and then think about how much weight these guys are losing in a week. That has to do a serious number on your body during the process itself (which is why they have all the medical intervention.)

Is anybody else kind of disappointed this season in the number of people sacrificing themselves? I think Abby was ready and needed to go home, but still. They need to learn to fight for themselves (in a good way!) What's happening is the best people are leaving the ranch, by the time it's over only the game players will be left.

I cried from the point where Abby was talking to Jillian about the accident until the end of the show. When Shay said what she did about Abby I cried even more. I wish all the best for Abby, what an inspirational person.

I'm hoping they bring back an at home player this season and Abbey somehow gets back in the game. I am actually liking Tracey more than Liz these days.

I was bawling, too. I kept thinking, Abbey has all of this love to give and she is finally ready to give it away. She is a mother with no one to mother. :guilty: I am glad that she and Shay found one another and I hope they can continue their relationship.

I missed last night's episode, (we went to the county fair) and I totally forgot about it until now. So can someone give me the SCOOP! TIA

I am still trying to figure out who Jillian was referring to when she said one of the members this season was the "spawn of satan". I know people thought it was Tracey but I wasn't too convinced it was... Tracey just seems more utterly clueless than really vindictive. I am really starting to think that it might be Liz...

I still think it's Tracey, I think she has been much more "evil" than Liz.

Jillian annoyed me a little when she was talking to Abby and she asked her what it's like to lose everyone you love. The way she asked it seemed like she was told to say it, not like she was really asking for herself.

Jillian said on Twitter that she actually spent 30 minutes talking with Abby that day so no telling what was left on the cutting room floor. She wasn't happy that the editing cut out so much of what happened.

sometimes it hard to remember the edit work that they do. It makes it hard to really know what really happened or was fully said.

I think they sometimes edit too much of the good stuff out.

Just saw Daniel at the Raleigh City of Oaks Marathon. He did the half (13.1 miles). If I can figure out how to post a picture, I've got him crossing the finish line.

I wish I could feel better about Abby, but I don't. She seems to be doing better and is now a motivational speaker ... talking about her story and how she had a second chance. I just don't see where she took advantage of the second chance that Biggest Loser offered her. She is still stuck with the identity of the woman who lost her husband and kids in a horrible accident. I don't expect her to "get over it" by any stretch of the imagination, but I do expect her to start to move on and be someone else other than a victim. I makes me really sad.

Shay makes me even sadder. What a terrifying childhood! I didn't like her for the longest time but I am now willing to give her some slack.

I totally agree with you about Shay. When she said the bit about being a child having to hide in the closet while her mother brought men home... :sad2::sad1:

However, I don't agree about Abby. How do you feel about John Walsh? Do you think he is still in the role of victim?? I think they both are doing the best they can in the wake of horrible tragedy, and helping many others in the process.
(Respectfully asking this, not trying to start an argument. :flower3: )

No arguments :). I knew John Walsh as a TV personality first (America's Most Wanted) and then learned about the death of his son. So, I didn't know him as "The guy whose son was taken from the Sears store and killed" before I knew his as "The host of America's Most Wanted". He seems to be very dedicated to what he does and he seems like he has moved past his victimhood.

ETA: I don't think you can compare someone who lost their child almost 30 years ago with someone who lost their kids less than 3 years ago. John Walsh has had a lot more time to work through his issues.

I can only dream that my bills paid themselves and my family could run without me for up to 4 months so I could be at the ranch...After of course I could get picked for the show....Why in the world would anyone want to sacrifice themselves. Getting on the Biggest Loser and my home life allowing would be like I won the lottery. It drives me crazy that they are willing to just give it up...Abby was one of my favorites but I was sad to see her just walk away. FIGHT for yourself. You may be ready to leave but if you stay you're only learning more!

How did he look? Did he look any thinner?

I think the opposite. Abby will always be the woman who lost her husband and children, but now she is in control and using her tragedy to help others. In doing so, she stopped being a victim.

We've been debating that. He's still big, but of course we were looking at him compared to marathon runners.

Late last night I realized who he was running with - another biggest loser contestant. Any guesses as to who it was?
