The big G+ rides at HS gone by 1:07!

This was always the case with the original paper FP system as well.
But I just dropped $60 for my family (4 riders) and another $40-60 for MMRR and another $60 for ROTR (I feel mad for the previous poster who paid all this money and only got 2 rides). and let’s not forget extra for the park hopper!

This did not happen on a sold out day in Nov btw.

If you pay for a LL$ you get to ride.

If you pay for Genie+ you get Genie+ passes. Maybe you mean someone buys it after the Genie+ passes are gone for the day? that would be consumer error...although I would agree maybe there is a way to notify someone (kind of like you can't buy a movie ticket for a movie that has already shown).
There are numerous reports of people buying Genie at 7 am and booking one ride then, then by the time they are eligible for the next booking (either after they use their first genie or 120 minutes after park opening), they get one more and then the rides are sold out for the day. So you may buy it and start right at 7 only to get 2 rides on it.

Nothing. They offered us to wait around and hope that MMRR starts working (but with 2 little kids, we need to stick to our mid-day break in order to have any hope of making it to the extra evening hours at MK tonight from 10-12. Just hoping we can get some G+ in MK, or else we’ll have paid $60 for our star tours ride).

And when I asked the CM if we had any hope of getting SDD, ROTR, and MMRR tomorrow (our 2nd planned DHS day) he said “no comment.”
This is where Disney is sorely lacking and we’ve experienced those shrug the shoulder CMs. What’s the point of Guest Experience Team (GET) if they don’t care about the guest experience. At the very least they could have given one pass for tier 2 or 3 rides.

In this case, I would buy ROTR tomorrow and rope drop SDD. Then grab some ice cream and water and line up for MMRR. One show for the kids (Frozen/Lightening McQueen). I hope tomorrow is better.

Prior to 2020 we visited WDW an average of 2-3 times a year. After this visit, while we had a great trip, we’re looking to try DL next rather than heading back to WDW as we normally would.

I wish I would have thought of DL before we booked another WDW trip this summer. We've never been to DL, and with how things are at WDW right now I think it would have been prime time to give it a try.

Having said that, I was just looking back reviewing last summers trip, when everything was SB only. It reminded me just how few attractions we were able accomplish each day, and those that we did accomplish came with long waits standing around. Given the fact that we were at each park 45 minutes to 1 hour before official opening, it's even more painful to remember.

G+ HAS to be better than that, but it will certainly require strategy. Which G+ do I book at 7am? Do I try for one near park opening and then just try to keep rolling through until they run out? ...or do I try to stack them for later in the day? (But the risk G+ running out before you've stacked maybe 2 good ones.) I'm still shocked how drastically different things are with G+ versus FP+.

The more I consider how things are now, it's leading to focusing more on enjoying the resort (Poly), but that's just sad. The overall value is so far diminished since pre-covid and these recent changes.

ok yes I see...and this did happen to us at DHS in early Feb...we got SD for afternoon...and then Toy Story. There was stuff available at 11am but we didn't book anything...there was stuff available at 1pm also but nothing we wanted I guess I just at it like it was $15 to ride SDD without a wait....(same as ROTR)....and TSMM was a bonus.

But agree it makes it expensive for sure....or you have to wait on long lines.

There is no way to have cheap tickets and short lines. It's impossible.

I wonder if anyone was able to book a ride at park opening and get 2-3 Genie+ rides in. Then maybe booking MMRR and ROTR (both LLIA$) in the evening would be better. It would be hard to do early entry and staying till park close so you would need to pick one.

Early entry only gives one ride at HS and you have to be 45 mins-1 hr ahead of say 8:30 am opening. allears? did an analysis and unless you are in the first 5-10 min crowd, you are not saving any time vs entering 30 mins past regular park opening.

Yes, agree the expense stinks. Disney jacked up prices...no question about it.

Seems like best bet for DHS is Rope Drop and do SD/TSMM, RNRC, TOT, MFSR (prioritizing as one sees fit)

Pay to play for ROTR and MMRR

Maybe do another biggie right at park close (hard to RD and park closse though....it's exhausting)

Skip the Genie+ add on

thanks - for think that will be the plan.

the other kicker is that we rope dropped this morning and waited in line for RR (it was 30 min by 8:05am) and my daughter didn’t make the height requirement by literally 1cm (and we’d tried for 30 min while waiting to find a height bar to test her before wasting our rope drop to find she couldn’t go on - the only one was at the ride entrance and you couldn’t get down there until the park opened). I knew it was a risk and it’s for safety, but I wish they’d had a test height bar you could try before committing to the line!

I'm still fairly convinced (I'll be off-site) that my DHS strategy is - buy MMRR and ROTR (if there are any left) for PM, get a PM slinky at 7am. At 9 am get an afternoon Smugglers, At 11am get an afternoon / evening TOT. Have a pool morning, then go to DHS, ride those, do Star Tours standby or get what we can for G+ and get in line for ROTR at park close if no ILL$ was possible. That's all assuming we can get Slinky/Smugglers/Tower but we're going end of August and hope the crowds will be a little lower. My daughter will be too short for RnR.

I think Fantasmic and some more meet and greets will disperse crowds. We loved the car stunt spectacular that they had in the past as well.

I made the same mistake and purchased FOP for our 5 year old, but was able to get it refunded via chat (Closed the app and thought no one cared, but got a response 1.5 hr later). There have been incidents where someone fell out of RnRC, so be careful. Hopefully you guys did rider switch.

I never thought about this until this post:
At 7:00 am can I buy both ILL attractions for DHS?
Thanks,
Dana

just to note you can't book again at 9am. has to be 2 hours from park open so first one is 11am. that is what jams things up....that wait until 11.

This past Saturday was the only day we used Genie+ on our week long trip (2/13-2/20). We park hopped from MK to DHS and ended up with 5 lightening lanes for the day: 2 at MK and 3 at DHS.

1.) Haunted Mansion at 7:03 (9:40-10:40)
2.) Pirates after when we tapped into HM (11:25-12:25)
3.) RnRC after we tapped into Pirates (5:30-6:30)
4.) TSMM at 1:35/2 hours after Pirates (6:30-7:30)
5.) Smuggler’s Run at 3:45 (7:55-8:55)

I will say, that fifth one took a LOT of refreshing. But we were waiting in line for Star Tours so it wasn’t a big deal to refresh until I was able to grab something (I was honestly looking for anything: smugglers run, ToT, or Slinky).

So it is possible to get things later in the day at DHS, but we were a party of 2 adults in our 30’s and I didn’t mind refreshing the heck out of the App. I saw a MMRR $ILL pop up during the refreshing, but didn’t want to pay since we had already ridden it.

We definitely got the most bang for our buck just staying at DHS until close.

On Sunday 2/13 we arrived around 5:45:
Star tours
Smugglers run
Alien swirling saucer
Runaway railway
Toy story mania
Rise of the Resistance

Saturday 2/19 we arrived around 3:30:
Star Tours
Indiana Jones show
Lightening McQueen racing academy
Rock n Rollercoaster LL
Dinner @ ABC Commissary
Toy Story Mania LL
Mickey and Minnie’s Railway
Smuggler’s Run LL
Rise of the Resistance
