The big G+ rides at HS gone by 1:07!

The older kids have stopped loving Disney. Last year was the first time my 13 year old didn’t feel sad coming back and our 5 year old couldn’t care less about rides (except the carousel which we rode 4 times) and just wanted pool time (we did 3/7 days when it wasn’t raining). Our bribe was pool time not rides. At 5, our DD couldn’t wait to get in the parks. Our son repeatedly says when are we going back to the pool. I agree that the overwhelming feeling is that it’s not for people with young kids (and we’ve been going for over a decade). Hopefully things will slowly get back to normal. I think the pandemic had everyone on edge and living in fear (losing jobs, health etc).

Disney needs to focus on their future customers and their current experience (not just shorter lines, but character interaction (DD2 loves Goofy because of Hollywood & Vine interaction), entertainment (sudden character appearances-remember when that was a thing), meal choices (offer more toys for kids), Disney themed coloring pages at ADRs, drawing classes at AOA (loved the Halloween booths around the resort), some unexpected magic (a custodial Cm at HS brought our DD a cupcake (was her birthday trip) when she saw her playing and running after birds

It feels like G+ is almost best suited to spending mornings at the pool, stacking what you can and then spending as little time in the park as you can knocking out those reservations from mid-afternoon?

7-10k for “world class entertainment” to spend half the day at the pool? This is the loss of value rub many Disney veterans feel. Holiday Inn on the other side of town has a pool, there is a Wendy’s next door for “quick service”.

We must break this mind lock that just becasue it’s Disney, that it’s AMAZING! 10k for pool days is ludicrous, 130 dollars a day for park pass to only spend 4 hours there is absurd.

I don't get the stacking. Can you select times for your FPs or LLs or whatever it's called nowadays? A link to an explanation please.

You can't select times but based on the graphs many have posted you can try your best. So you wanna book the ride that sells out the fastest at 7am because unless you are lucky you will get a later time. You can also refresh till you get something later. So the task is to book in order of popularity, and hope for the best.

So when I plan on doing this I will try to book sdd at 7am. This will prolly be a LL for 4pm+ but than at 10am(8am open) I will try for ToT since these sell out around 1pm, and hope I also get a time after 4pm. Than at 12 I will try for anything I can grab for a good time considering my other two times.

Stacking is one approach to G+. Another is to try for an early LL, tap in, and get more as soon as possible. We did a bit of both.

What Disney should do is allow people who have pre purchased G+ to select 1 ride a day in advance at anytime of the day. This would keep most happy and incentivises people to pre purchase G+.

What I dont get it there doesn't appear to be a daily limit of people who can have G+
It's marketed as non refundable. So why limit it. This is a scummy tactic Disney is doing and one of the BIG reasons it's is getting pooped on in reviews. People spend 15$ and get one ride after buying it while in the park for a few hours.

Stacking just refers to booking a bunch of LL's every 2 hours, typically starting in the morning, for return times later in the day, typically late afternoon or evening. The series of booked LL's is known as a "stack". The return windows may overlap because you don't have much control over them. Using them all may require some crisscrossing. I ended up not using my ~9PM Jungle Cruise LL because we were tired and did not want to hike over to Adventureland after riding Space Mountain.

My idea would be 1 pre selected ride in advance (so like fast pass+) and then how it currently is pick 2nd ride at 7am and so on.

Currently it seams a massive mess that Disney are unwilling to fix

I may have done something wrong, but even with a early LL, I still had to wait the 120 minutes from previous booking to book another regardless of using the first one (tapping in at the last tapstyle).

Did you try only at 2 hours or 2 hours and a few min? I have read that say you book at 7am but really it didn't go through till 7:10 you can't book another till say 11:10.

Fingers crossed that Disney will change the 7am booking time. This is the one aspect that makes most people unhappy. I liked booking 3 FPs 60 days out. I'm a planner.

Could it be that someone in your party did not ride? That happened to us when DW did not want to ride something I'd booked, I could not book the whole party again until we'd cleared that.

I suppose it’s necessary for the earliest opening parks. You need to reserve it and have time to get over there in time if you get a reservation for park open.

When only people staying at resorts get this perk... I don't think this is a valid reason for the 7am booking window.

It’s 2 hours from park opening. So if the park opened at 9, you can book at 11 am. If park opened at 8 am, you can book another at 10 am provided the first one was not used and is in the future (so 9:30-10:30 will be ok as long as you didn’t use it).

If the first pass is 9-10 am and you didn’t use it, then you need to let it expire (15 min grace so at 10:15 am). I’m not 100% sure you can book a pass within the grace period (10:01-10:15 am) if park opened at 8 am.
