I am the only one who has ever been to DW before, and that was when I was 17, so we are all pumped and excited out of our pants to finally be able to go.
The kids' trip starts when we arrived at 4am in the morning at the airport and get on the plane. None have ever been on an airplane before and they are giddy out of their little heads. With a quickie stop at St. Louis, we are at Orlando and in the hotel and in our room by 1:30pm.
We had Happy Limo pick us up at the airport and it was great! Kids were surprised and loved it.
The Contemporary is awesome. We had a beautiful view of MK from our balcony on the 9th floor in the tower.
We decide that since it is a Saturday and MK crowds are in full force, we would hope on over to Epcot first. (someone told me later that there were actually more people in Epcot that day than MK)
First ride: Test track. We waited the longest for this ride than any other ride the entire time we were there. A little over 30 mins and we were in the car. Loved this ride.
From that point on it was a walk-on. Anything we wanted to do with little to no wait. (We didn't get to the World Showcases this day)
We left Epcot and headed back to the room to grab a bite to eat and then treked on over to MK for the 11pm Spectromagic parade. This was awesome.
The next morning (sunday) we get up early for emh at MK and again, walk onto most any ride we wanted with no wait. The girls and I caught some characters at the main gate and the boys went to go ride Space Mountain....again. hehe.
Alien Encounter was super cool. and Buzz Lightyear was fun. He was outside the ride doing pictures when we went on.
We ate turkey legs, and did Pirates, it's a Small World, Splash Mountain, I can't remember it all. We kept busy.
Left there to go back to the room to get cleaned up and then headed over to MGM for the showing of Fantasmic. What a wonderful show!! I loved this!
The next day, Monday, was breakfast at Cinderellas castle. It was beautiful. Loved the food, the waiters, the princesses, everything. It was well worth the $$.
With our bellies full it's on over to Typhoon Lagoon. I loved this water park. We got there about 10:30am, plenty of spaces to park, got a nice one by the wave pool, and spent most of the day getting sunburned.
After a long day at TL, we decided we still hadn't had enough and went to Downtown Disney and Disneyquest. Ate at the Rainforest Cafe and loved it.
But I think that was too much for that day, cause we were beat when we finally got back in for the evening.
Tuesday, we headed over to MGM.
I have to say that the Tower of Terror is my absolute favorite ride of them all. We rode that twice with a wait time of about 5 mins.
We rode Rock and Roll rollercoaster with no wait.......FOUR times in a row. As fast as we could get off and walk back around to the line (well there was no line) we could get right back on. Awesome.
We saw Indiana Jones, the Ariel show, Muppet 3D, Backlot Tour, loved them all. Star Tours made the DD a bit queasy, but I enjoyed this ride alot too.
We enjoyed the Contemporary pool that evening.
Wednesday Blizzard Beach day. I could have done without this water park, but I got out-voted....hehe. Kids got worn out pretty quick here, so back to the hotel and on over to Epcot again to visit the World Showcases and catch Illuminations. (Honey I shrunk the audience is great!) Rode Mission Space....awesome!
My DS started feeling not-so-good and then it started to rain. Well, pour. We watched the show water logged and tired, but it was still very cool.
Thursday was breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Awesome time there. The food was great and so were the characters.
Then over to AK. Really, I wish I would have alotted more time for this park. It is beautiful. We rode Dinosaur (scarey but great!) and saw It's hard to be a bug, and kids played around in Dinoland. Visually this is a beautiful park imo.
Kids were very very tired at this point, and my and DH wanted to finish checking out the rest of WS at Epcot (we had barely begun to look when the show started the previous evening)
So kids took naps at the room while we went over and checked out the rest of WS. Ate at the Italian restaurant there (WoW, expensive).
When we got back, kids were still tired so we watched the MK Fireworks from the balcony.
Friday, check out day, plane leaves at 3:45. DH and DD run over to MK for last minute gifts. I pack and we are out of the room by 11am.
We hop the monorail, ride it around and go check out the Poly Resort. Kids decided they liked the Contemporary better, but I would have stayed at either one.
We have a few minutes until the limo picks us up at 1:30, so we eat and play around in the arcade at CR for a bit.
Limo ride back to airport was wonderful. He stopped at the 7-11 for us so we could get some gum.
Now, here is were my entire trip goes down the toilet.
I have a carry-on bag with a minolta SLR camera, two lenses, an olympus digital camera with three memory cards, a water camera, a CD player, and some medication in this bag. I ask my DH to strap it to his wheeled carry on(because my bag is heavy).
I probably would not have done this, BUT I was carrying a huge disney bag fully of stuff and another small bag with ID's, plane tickets, etc. He had one bag I had three, so I was thinking that he could handle this. /sigh.
When we get on the darn shuttle to go to the gate......he sets my camera bag down behind him........and yep, you guessed it.....leaves it on the shuttle.
We noticed it missing about two minutes later, but by that time, it was long gone.
I shot five rolls of film, and had over 300 digital pictures, All Gone.
We almost missed our plane looking for it and going to lost and found and checking with TSA.
They kept saying 'people don't steal things here' well, no, they don't steal a bag of clothes but they would a bag off cameras worth over 1500 dollars.
I'm sick to say the least. All I want is my pictures back. The cameras I can replace, I don't care about them. It's the lost pictures that kill me. This was probably a once in a lifetime trip for us, and I don't have any pictures now
In spite of the fact that every time I think of the pictures my face leaks like a faucet. ........... We had a wonderful time.
The CM's were awesome, the food was great, there were no lines, it was everything one could dream of.
