It seems like the closer that our trips come, the more time and emphasis we put into trying to make sure that everything is perfect - that our hotels are booked, certain rooms are requested, our tickets are purchased, our ressies are made, are schedules are set, and our plans of attack are laid out. Now, there is obviously nothing wrong with doing all these things, in fact we would probably be crazy not too. But too often we depend on these things to try and insure a perfect trip, when the truth is that more often than not it is the little things that can make or break a trip. So this trip, let me suggest a few little things that can go a LONG way in making that perfect trip.
1. ENJOY!!! I know it's been said many times before, but it is so true. Remember where you are. So what if the room isn't perfect. So what if the show you wanted to see is booked solid. So what if your favorite ride is closed. There's nothing that makes a bad situation worse than getting all worked up about it. If something doesn't work out, so what. Just enjoy everything else.
2. ENJOY being with your family!!. Few places on earth can compare to Disney. It is just so fantastic, yet often times we get so caught up in our own personal magic that we don't take time to stop and enjoy being with our family. Don't let the trip take the place of your family. Disney comes and goes, our family doesn't.
3. COMPLIMENT each other. I know this probably sounds strange, but if you want to get your day off to a good start (especially us hubbies) start off by telling your spouse how nice she looks today. I guarentee that a few special words will ensure a fabulous day.
4. BE CONSIDERATE of each other. OK, so you want to do ToT, but your spouse doesn't. Don't try to force somebody to do something they would rather not (believe me it's not worth it). If your kids are tired, forget the schedule, and take some time off. Ask them what they would really like to do for a change.
5. BE FLEXIBLE. Plans are great, but how many times have you heard people say that some of the best times they had were due to spur of the moment decisions. Have a plan, but be ready to deviate it when the opportunity arrises.
6. And finally ENJOY!!. Have I already said that? Well, good, because it needs to be said again. Don't let anything ruin your vacation, because it really, really just is not worth it.

All great points!

I whole-heartily agree with the BE FLEXIBLE part!

One other thing I forgot to add (this is from my wife), SAVE UP for the trip, so you don't need to charge anything. This will give you the satisfaction of whole-heartedly enjoying your trip without worrying about how you are going to pay for it after :thumbsup2

My best advice is don't be afraid to be a kid. Put aside the "real world" for a little while and live each day to its fullest. Enjoy the details and allow yourself to get lost in the moment. pirate: pirate: pirate:
