Hello out there fellow DISers :hippie:

If you are working to being a healthier you for a September 2015 trip to the World, you are in the right place!
No matter what eating or exercise plan you are following, join me on this journey! Accountability and encouragement are just as vital as watching what we eat and how many reps we do at the gym.
Post a little about yourself and your goals (if you wish). :goodvibes

Cool thread!

We are going late September 2015, and hubby and I just started a Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarian diet today. Doing it for three weeks to help clean out our system and get us on the path to cleaner eating and then will repeat it 3 more times before we go. My goals with it are to increase my energy, fix female issues that are probably due to eating horrible for so long, and lose 20-25lbs by September. My hubby is worried about his heart, so that's the main reason he's doing it, and he's also extremely overweight....so he'd like to lose 100lbs or more. He's always afraid to go to amusement parks because he loves to ride roller coasters but is too big to fit in the harnesses....so I know he needs this so that he doesn't feel horrible that he can't ride with me or the kids.

Good to see others on this journey as well.

I want to go next fall(to hopefully all 4 parks in Florida) if all works out but no plans yet.

I started the keto plan last Wednesday (10/15) because I have seen the prrof that it works! After the first few days, I loved that I had no afternoon crash at work and felt full after eating each meal.

My goal is to lose 67lbs by end of June 2015. That is 36 weeks from now, which is a little less than 2lbs per week. I'm not sure how feasible this is but I will make my best attempt at it.

Eating has been about 99% on point since Wednesday, macros and calories. I will be going back to the gym soon. I injured my ankle in July and while it still isn't 100%, physical activity will only help it recuperate faster. I can walk without pain for the most part and I can definitely do weight training.

What are you doing to help reach your weight loss/ health goals?

I'm in! Our next trip is late September 2015. This will be our first trip as a family of four.

A bit of background: DH and I have two sons, a 4-year-old and a 7-month-old. I desperately want to get back into run/walking -- I just haven't found the time. By nature I prefer to work out in the early morning, but the baby isn't sleeping through the night just yet, and -- between waking up with him, working a full-time job, then coming home and spending time with the family/cooking/cleaning/running errands -- I just haven't made working out a priority.

I'm currently counting WeightWatchers points and have lost about 3 pounds in as many weeks. My goals are to lose another 12 pounds, learn to eat intuitively and run a runDisney race.

Awesome!

When are you going? We are going last week of September into October. We have twin 7 year old girls and a 4 year old boy also. :-)

We might be going the same week -- we'll be there Sept. 27-Oct. 2. :)

How has your week gone? I was doing well until last night. Some family flew in from out of town, and we went out for pizza. Today is my coworker's birthday, so we will probably have donuts or cupcakes. And then tomorrow is our 4-year-old's birthday party. I've planned a healthy menu -- wraps, veggie cups with dip, and fruit salad -- but of course there will be cake!

Yep! We are going sept. 25 - october 4. How cool! We are planning on staying at POR if they have free dining. If not, it will either be Coronado Springs or All-star Music. It'll be me, hubby, kids, his parents and sister, and my parents. Kind of a family get together at the happiest place on earth!

Hubby and I have done well this week on our lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet. Tonight will be a little different. His office is having a dinner at a fancy steakhouse. Lol! My hubby is so sad, because he's a total meat eater. I told him we've done well all week, he can pick either a small portion of meat OR dessert. I'm going for the dessert! I can careless about eating meat.

I've down pretty well this week. This WOE cuts out all grainy carbs so my daily goal is 25 net grams of carbs (carbs - fiber) and I try to reach that with leafy dark greens

I could never go without meat. I LOVE IT. Eggs and meat are a huge staple. But props for doing well all week

How fun! We have free dining at POFQ (I booked a bounceback offer when we were there over Labor Day weekend).

How did the steakhouse dinner go? I'd choose dessert over steak, too ... any day, lol!

I ate really poorly this weekend, but I'm back on track today. Only 335 days until my trip! :thumbsup2

What is a bounce back offer? I'm intrigued.

Well, hubby had a small steak, that normally he would've devoured...but he only ate about 1/2 of it before his tummy started telling him "no more!" But me on the other hand, I went for the dessert, and despite what my tummy was saying after the first 3 bites, I kept going. I paid for it dearly for about 24 hours. It sure was yummy though. Back on track Saturday and we're doing great. Just less than two weeks to go. I actually seem to have more energy this week so far. Yay!

Hooray for more energy!

I'm down half a pound from last week, despite all the cake and ice cream I ate over the weekend. Don't know how that happened, lol.

Often when you're staying at a WDW resort, there's a flyer in the room for a "future stay" offer. Sometimes it's free dining, sometimes it's a room-only discount. You have to book your future trip while you're on a trip; some people have gotten away with booking as late as midnight on their check-out day, but it's supposed to be before you check out on your last day.

Hello all :wave2:

We are going September 12-19th and staying at CBR.

I have a lot of weight to lose like around 100-120 pounds, but right now I have a short term goal of 40. I have been working at it using myfitnesspal to log everything I eat and have lost 9 pounds so far. It is frustrating because it was 10, but my body decided it liked one of the pounds. I also gave up pop completely and red meat as well.

My vanity reason is that I have maybe half a dozen pics with me in them from our previous WDW trips because I don't like to see myself and what I let myself become. So I want to be in all sorts of pics this time. Also WDW related, last time we were there youngest DD was big enough to ride sum of all thrills, but would not ride it alone and I wouldn't fit :( so this time I want to be able to ride it with her (it is on her to do list).

The main reason I want to lose this weight is my health. My mom had a triple bypass a few years back but I just said "I'll lose the weight, I'm young" but then a few weeks ago a good friend of mine had a heart attack and he is not much older than I am. He survived, but it scared me real bad so I want to be here for a long time for DH and the kids so it is no longer an I want to it is an I need to!!! Also I have PCOS and my dr has told me that if I lose the weight it will greatly improve my symptoms.

Good luck! You can do it! :)

It's scary when we realize we and our parents aren't invincible, but sometimes all it takes is a scare to motivate us.

How did everyone do on Halloween? We had a brunch potluck at work, but that's my least favorite meal of the day so I didn't go overboard. I did, however, have a small slice of peanut butter pie ... yum! I wasn't tempted by any of DS' candy last night, *and* I got in a good walk trick-or-treating with the kids.

On Halloween I did fine. We do not trick or treat so instead we buy candy and watch a movie. So I went to the store and stocked up on candy, however I did not have any. I had popcorn instead (which I love anyway). We watched the Haunted Mansion and had a great time!

Yesterday on the other hand I had a very rough day. After church DH bought me a bag of watermelon licorice and even though I initially said I wasn't having any...they sat on the table and eventually I said one or two is ok. Then I logged it and thought it was ok, however I ended up talking myself into being able to have one day that I can indulge so I ate them all (it was a small bag but still). Then I logged lunch which wasn't great and then at dinner I logged it and well long story short I went over by 400 calories...but I am ok today. I feel a little guilty, but I feel like I'm ok and today will be better!

How was everyone else's weekend?

We did fine over Halloween. Our community had a party and grilled hot dogs and sausage with sides and lots of candy. It was tough, but hubby and I resisted.

We got a scale last week. Decided we are going to weigh in every Monday. I'm down 5 lbs since last week and hubby is down 4 lbs. not too shabby.

This is our last week on the vegetarian diet. We're still planning on continuing mostly vegetarian...but hubby wants to do meat twice or three times a week. I can definitely do that for him since he's been so good at this 3 week diet. Hopefully he can continue the exercise and stay motivated to lose 2 lbs a week.

Woohoo Congrats on the weight loss!!!

We also did 1 month (September) completely vegetarian and then in October went to three meals with meat and four meals vegetarian, but still no red meat. This is how we plan to continue from now on. As far as weight loss goes I did not see much, however as far as feeling better, I can definitely see a difference.

Yes....I'm amazed at how much better I feel. I'm not yawning all day long, feel more focused during the day, and actually have motivation to work out.
