To give a better review, Artist Point has a great atmosphere and view. The food is definitely different. Steve had a combo of ostrich, buffalo and venison that was really good. Especially the venison. I was a little weird about it because of "Bambi" syndrome, but I tried a bite and it was excellent.
Day 2 - This was MGM day. We didn't make EE because we were so tired from e-ride the night before, but the crowds were not an issue so we didn't worry too much about it. The atmosphere here was wonderful. Just the soundtracks they have playing all the time are great. Yep, I was singing along. We rode the Great Movie Ride first and really enjoyed the life-like figures. We love every one of the examples they used. We had lunch at the Sci-Fi Diner. We love old horror flicks (any MST 3000 fans out there?) and the trailers were just hysterical. I got the required cheeseburger, fries and the milkshake to go. Then we went to Star Tours. Holy cow!!! If you are prone to motion sickness at all...DO NOT RIDE THIS RIDE. I had to use the handrail to get out of the exit and to a bench. That killed riding anything for me for the rest of that day and limited me to mild things at MK the next day. We did try Muppet 3-D just to see if I was fine and that was pretty difficult to get through, but very cute.
After going through some of the shops, we decided to go check out AK before dinner at the Derby. We only had 2 hours, but what we saw was just incredible. The Tree of Life was the most amazing thing. I took tons of video just going over the tree up close. We went through the jungle walking tours, the safari was done for the day. The attention to detail by Disney is marvelous. You almost feel like you're right there in the respective countries (not that I've been to either one, but I felt that way). For those who think it's just another zoo, we didn't feel that way at all and we wish we had had more time.
That night we dined at the Brown Derby in our bride and groom ears. When you do that, you feel like a celebrity because everybody is staring at you and smiling. The food was excellent and we finished just in time to walk over to Fantasmic. The CM outside the gate stopped us and asked us our names. Then she proceeded to announce to everybody on Sunset Blvd. who we were and what we were doing there. Embarassing, but cute.
Fantasmic was amazing. The wind got up and we got sprayed, we got toasty when the water caught on fire and it all came out great on our video. Don't use night shot, you don't need it. The colors come out just fine filming on normal settings.
Day 3 tomorrow.
