:cool1: Which roller coaster would be great for first time rider such as a child, teen or an adult?

Definitely Mickey head looping roller coaster at DCA. All of the other ones are too intense, especially the one in Toontown.

No experience with roller coasters: Big Thunder Mountain
Some experience with roller coasters: California Screamin'

I would also suggest Matterhorn, since the seats are configured in such a way the you can "sit" in someone's lap.

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

He's joking. Gadget's Go Coaster in ToonTown is tame. Mickey-head looping one is the one everybody's scared of.

As others have said, for kids, Gadget's Go Coaster. For an adult or teen, I'd say Thunder Mtn. or Matterhorn. I admit that I am still sacred of roller coasters but I ride them anyways and have fun. My fear comes from that 1% chance that something might go wrong. Anyways, most of the coaters at DL and DCA are pretty tame when you compare to say Six Flags Magic Mountain or Great Americas back east.

:rotfl: It took me a second to get this. I’m on the slow train this morning.

Big Thunder at WDW was the first rollercoaster I ever went on. So I'd say that one.

Space mountain is RIDICULOUSLY fun! It is a very tame coaster but the darkness and the music make it an absolute blast!

I think if you dont have much experience with coasters Space Mountain could be too much right off the bat.

Little Experience with coasters - Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain
More Experience with coasters - Indiana Jones (Its sort of a coaster), Space Mountain
Love Coasters - California Screaming

Only a few people actually understand the true seriousness of this thread. ;)

True... but do they understand about the star-dark spaceship ride, or the miner-chuggy goat-trick train? I don't think so. ;)

Last time we were in Disneyland, I took my 4 year old on both Thunder Mountain and the Matterhorn. He loved Thunder Mountain and the snow monster in the Matterhorn scared him. Plus it jerks you around more than Thunder Mountain. I have found the roller costers that jerk you around are scarier for the kids than the smoother ones.

Big Thunder Mountain. That was the first roller coaster type ride I went on as a child and still love it today :)

Miner chuggy goat trick train, oh my Buddha that's too funny.

That was definitely my son's experience. Well, except he wouldn't go to BTMRR, b/c Matterhorn was so unpleasant for him that he refused. I don't think I would take a first-timer on Matterhorn.

Space Mountain hands down. Second would be California Screamin, my first looping coaster :)

My oldest daughters first roller coaster ride was Big Thunder Mountain when she was about 3½. I was terrified to let her go on it, but daddy insisted and we were with friends who's son was riding also. She absolutely LOVED it and cried when it was over because she didn't want to get off! She rode three times that day. I can't wait to see her ride it when we go in December (she is 7 now).

Bleccch, no offense, but this one (Space Mountain) is totally nauseating for my entire family of 4. (We LOVE CS.. it's very smooth in contrast!) Star tours is even a little more nauseating than CS.

Big thunder is one of the best, and if you notice your kids steering you to CS, just go with the flow... it's not that much more scary, seriously.

I had never ridden a coaster that flips you upside down until 2 years ago, in CA park. LOVED it. Even our family physician told us he loves that one. :goodvibes
