I'm looking for a list of the best CS restaurants at both DL & DCA. Looking for places that have great food but at reasonable prices where me, DW & 2 nieces (11 & 13) can all get something good to eat without going broke. I have us several TS dinners planned so now I need some ideas on some good places to grab a quick but tasty & reasonably priced food. I appreciate all of your suggestions!

-Plaza Inn for fried chicken, can easily be split, and it's tasty!
-Hungry Bear for fried green tomato sandwich and onion rings, and pies!
-Troubadour Tavern for stuffed baked potatoes. Good for light meal
-River Belle Terrace for sandwiches and salads

In DCA we recommend:

-Taste Pilot's grill for the blue cheese burger
-White Water Snacks (actually in GCH) the nachos were really good.

Have fun planning!

I'd like to add Bengal Barbeque in DLR (across from Jungle Cruise) and a corn dog from anywhere on property ;)

We love French Market best in DLR
Also love Hungry Bear. I plan on tasting the fried green tomato sandwich this next trip!

I wanna second Taste Pilots..yummy food, you make the burger the way you want it..big portions..cheaper price tag :)

I also second a corn dog from either park :D

I'm not sure if you're looking more for opinions on what tastes the best around the parks or for pricing. But I found http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm#dl to be very helpful. It's a complete list of all the restaurants at DLR, DTD, DCA and the hotels along with menus and prices. I just wish it included pictures so you could see what you're getting. Hope this helps.

Personally, I think the best bang for you buck in terms of quality and quantity for CS is White Water Snacks at the GCH. Granted, I haven't been to all of the places previous posters have mentioned. Troubadour Tavern has great potatoes, but when DBF and I tried it for the first time in January they were only open for lunch, although they may extend their hours during peak seasons. Plaza Inn is a great bet in terms of quantity, but the only part of the meal I enjoyed was the fried chicken. I seem to be in the minority with that opinion though. Corn dogs are always nice too. I like the hot link ones from Corn Dog Castle at DCA the best. Another good choice at DCA is Pacific Wharf Cafe. They have a good variety of soups and salads. If you ask for the bread bowl on the side you get a large loaf packed in a bag that you can all snack on later. :thumbsup2

Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta in DCA has good food at good prices. From pictures, the plates don't look that big but the pasta is very filling, and it comes on real plates with real silverware! It's a great atmosphere too.

If you want to eat at the Bengal Barbecue and really want to save money, buy a loaf of bread at the bakery in DCA, and bring the bread over to Disneyland to eat with some Bengal Barbecue skewers. (The breadsticks there are good but VERY expensive.)

Thanks for this. I love their soups and bread but I don't like the soggy bread when it's in a bread bowl. I will try this next month!

Do you know if you can ask for the black beans on the side for the lobster nachos?

I like black beans so I've never done it, but while we were at the CB eating our nachos the table next to us did ask the server and iirc she did say that yes, you can get the beans taken off, I would assume you can get them on the side then. :) :) I love those nachos, they are the BEST!

OP we really like eating at TPG, I love the Wild Bleu Yonder Burger, I remove the steak sauce and then add too much BBQ sauce instead. :) We like the Plaza Inn, DBF and I share a main dish and add a side salad, we are always full. We like Rancho Del Zocalo in DLR (more than we like RC in DCA), French Market and Pizza Port. In DCA we also enjoy the Luckey Fortune Cookery and DD12 had a salad from the Pacific Wharf Cafe that was very good.

We also enjoyed Rancho Del Zocalo at DL and the portions are very generous. We have gotten the 2 enchilada with carne asada plate and brought it over with us to the Golden Horseshoe and enjoyed lunch while watching the Billy Hill show.

Another quick favorite of ours in grabbing a Smoked Turkey Leg (totally big enough to share) and a few corn on the cobs (the chile lime is soooooo good) and eat while we are waiting for a parade to start. Dole whips are a must every trip for a quick snack or desert!

River Belle Terrace is good for a quick breakfast or lunch. We have done both and the food is really good.

At DCA we really like the Chili-Cheese Dog and Hot Link from Award Weiners and the Corn Dogs from Corn Dog Castle!! We also like the bread bowls with soup you can get at both parks, but wish they had more soup to them, as the soup is GOOD!

I am looking forward to trying the baked potatoes at Troubadour Tavern on our next trip and well as the Nachos from WWS. The pictures I've seen always make my stomach growl!! :goodvibes

I have only been to DL once and my favorites are:

DL -

The Jolly Holiday Bakery: Hot Angus Roast Beef on Toasted Onion Roll - Caramelized Onions, Horseradish Aioli and White Cheddar. $9.69 -

SOOO good. And I don't even like onions. It comes with homemade potato chips!

DCA -

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill: Soft Tacos Monterrey - Beef, Chicken or Roasted Vegetables with seared peppers and onions, topped with cheese served in warm flour tortillas. $9.99

I got the Beef and substituted sauteed veggies for the beans. Again SOOOO good. Spicy for my mild taste buds.

I love the Jolly Holiday bakery, they have awesome tomato basil soup! Also, Pizza Port has always been my favorite and Rancho Del Zocalo is very good as well.

Glad to be able to help! I read about that on here a while ago, so I'm just paying it forward. :goodvibes

I would've suggested JHB because it was one of our favorite new places to eat on our January trip; however, I do want to mention that the lines were always really long during our trip even though it was off season, so it wasn't a great place to go if we were really hungry or tired of waiting in lines. Maybe we were just unlucky every time we went, or maybe it was due to the fact that so many restaurants on Main St. were closed during our visit. In any case it's something to keep in mind. There's some great food over there, though! DBF and I especially enjoyed the strawberry lemon cupcake and the Waldorf chicken salad sandwich. :cloud9:

At both River Belle Terrace and Jolly Holiday Bakery my mother and I (both grownups) were able to split a sandwich and both be full. And the sandwiches were delicious!

Where do you get the corn on the cob??? Chili lime sounds awesome is it in the butter???

I know this question wasn't directed toward me, but buttered and chili-lime corn on the cob can be found at Troubadour Tavern in Fantasyland and the snack cart that sells turkey legs between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. I'm not really sure if the flavors are in the butter, but the chili-lime cob does have butter on it. FWIW, you can taste much more of the chili than the lime.
