Last visit we did the Chef Mickey Dinner and it was FANTASTIC:thumbsup2
food was great, characters were very attentive and not in too much of a hurry even though the place was packed.

we chose chef mickey's because of Donald Duck...DS favorite character.

Next trip (Jan 2010) we were planning on choosing a princess meal for DD. However, I have been looking over the menus and I am not sure if what they are offering is going to go over with our group. We are not very fancy eaters and the menus seem rather more "sophisticated" than our usual fare.

Breakfast is not an option according to DH....he doesn't think he can handle a big breakfast and then do rides...the kids are more cereal eaters than eggs/sausage ect. anyway so lunch or dinner makes more sence for us.

If anyone could let me know their opinions on the princess meals (even breakfast if you would recommend it) or another character meal that you would recomend, I would appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,
Tosh

Food wise, I'd go with 1900 Park Fare (they have Cinderella for dinner). Some of the best buffet food I've had.

For dinner, I agree with 1900 Park Faire and for breakfast Akershus (NOrway) in Epcot. Sorry if the spelling is incorrect. The food is good in both and good access to princesses/characters.

CRT is good, but you pay for eating in the castle. I don't know we will do it again in the near-ish future.
We liked Akerhaus very much. The menue was limited, but DH said the Lamb was great and I enjoyed the BBQ sandwich. The kids were happy with the children's menu. Ariel is one of the princesses so DD was thrilled.
1900 PF was Fabulous and the food was good too! The interaction with and between the step-mother and sisters was a terrific finale to our trip.

We did all the princess character meals on our trip in 2007. I let my DD6 pick any character meal she wanted for our next trip and she picked CRT for lunch. I am sure it had nothing to do with food. 1900 PF was crowded and busy . CRT was relaxing and enjoyable. Storybook was great also but CRT was the pick!

We have been to the 1900 Park Fair and really liked it.
The characters were great and you have enough food choices and my family isn't into fancy foods either. If I remember right they have a bar with standard kids stuff: chicken nuggets, Mac and cheese, etc.
We look forward to doing it again.:cool1:

thanks so much for the info and opinions.:goodvibes

I printed off the menus for CRT, Askerhaus, and 1900 park fare....for my DH and others in our party to take a look at...I think that 1900 Park Fare will be the winner as we could do that on one of our "off days". I would love to eat in the castle but DH is very budget concious and he will definitely be voting for one of the lower priced meals....although we will see what everyone has to say as there will be about 8 of us.

I only have experience with CRT (dinner) and Akershus (lunch). Both were great. I didn't think either were too sophisticated. The advantage of Akershus is you get 4 - 5 princesses. When we were there in November, we got to see: Belle (taking photo's at the front), Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, and Cinderella. For dinner, all we saw was Cinderella (at the front). With either one, you get a photo package included (2 if or more). I would do both again.
