From what I've read, the consensus is that this is only going to buy some time and isn't a total fix.

Now, if I were King, which I will be someday, I would round up every politician and bank CEO responsible for getting us into this mess (they can all be identified) and drag them off to Guantanimo to be locked up with the rest of the scum. Assests would be confiscated and all government pensions and benefits would cease. They have come very close to destroying our country (and might, still) and deserve no less, probably more!

What did you think was going to happen? There is/was no good solution. Every 'solution" had it's fleas. We will Monday morning quarterback the situation for decades to come, but the best thing we can do is to make sure it can never happen again.

It was like the Iraq war. The only reasonable solution was not to get into the mess in the first place.
