Went to Typhoo lagoon today, grabbed a locker, staked out some sun beds and headed off for Crush N Gusher, this was great fun but a word of warning make sure you keep your bum up as it can be really rough! I was still sore when we got home!
We did all the usual rides and had a great time in the wave pool with the disposable water camera.
We left at about 3.00 as it was really hot and we were tired out. Unless you have been in the summer you will not be able to appreciate just how wearing the heat can be. When we were here two years ago it was not as hot due to the record rainfall that took the edge off of the temperature.
We tried to find TCDs office thinking it was at the Crossroads but as it isnt we went back to Downtown and got 4 huge ice creams from Ghirardellis and booked a PS for Whispering canyon at the Wilderness Lodge for 7.00.
Callum and I walked up to the other end of downtown so he could have a look around his favourite shop The Guitar Gallery. He was really upset as it had closed down. I wasnt sure if he was more upset that it had closed down or the fact that he had to walk all the way back in the heat without having at least picked up a guitar.
We headed back to the 192 as we had seen an internet café and put Maddies mind at rest by buying her student bus pass ready for her first term in college. GOD dont they grow up quick! Blink and you will miss it!
I pity the first boy she brings home. I will put him through the mill if he thinks he is good enough for MY little girl!!!
We then headed off to Whispering Canyon, Callum with his usual steak Maddie with a Burger and DW and I had the Skillet. I dont know if it wasnt actually as good as last trip or MAYBE we were still to full from those little ice creams we had earlier, but we only gave it a 7/10.
We had a wander around after tea and spotted several hidden Mickeys.
We got lost on the way back to the Hotel and had a detour around Celebration.
This was very poorly signposted and if we had not recognised some land marks from last trip we would still be there now (how I wish).
This getting lost on the way back to the 192 became a regular thing as there were a lot of road works around the junction of the World Drive/I4 and 192 interchange and the signposts were very confusing. This is not just my excuse as I know several others have made similar comments (honest).
