Tuesday 23rd August

Up early again, as Maddie had a strict schedule for us today.
We were at IoA by 9.00 and the park was much quieter. We went straight on Popeye and then Spiderman with no wait at all at either ride. Tried to do Dudley do-right’s ripsaw falls, but it was closed due to ‘technical difficulties’.

Next we hopped to Universal and did Jimmy Neutron (5 Mins) The Mummy (No wait) we liked this even more than the first time. Next it was Men in Black (No wait) which we did 3 times in a row and each time it was a walk on.

Next up we hit Terminator 2 , 3D.
We were sat near the front and either they have changed it or it is much better sat near the front as the action seemed far more intense.

Now in the past Callum has always got soaked from head to toe in the Curious George playground but he promised that this time he wouldn’t. He did keep his promise only we forgot to remind Maddie and this time she was the one that walked straight into a soaking.

We had fast passes for ET but it still took us a long time to get our names registered and by the time we got to the front of the line I thought I would have a change so I became Brad for 5 Minutes (little things please little minds I suppose).

We left Universal at 3.00.

Callum was after an electric guitar as he had bought an acoustic guitar from a pawn shop on our last trip.(I think he was hoping that this would become a tradition , NO chance!)

We stopped at the same shop which is on the 192 before you get to Medieval World and had a look around. He picked out a really beaten up one that was $89 and tried to convince me to buy it for him for Christmas (I told you he would use this again didn’t I)

Well it didn’t work. I told him it wasn’t worth it even if it was cheap and we left with me being the worst dad in the world and he let me know just how much he hated me.
(A real Kevin moment).

We were going to have a look around St Cloud but it seemed so far that we turned around and stopped at another pawn shop instead. This time he picked out a Carlo Robelli Electric guitar that was $200 and played the PLEASE buy me this for Christmas card again.

I asked if it had a case and the assistant went to check.
When she came back she said it had a soft case and I explained to Callum that there was no way we would get it home without damaging it on the plane and he said he could wrap it with socks etc. I asked the girl if they could do anything on the price and she went to ask the manager (I had heard a lady ask this about a ring she was interested in and she got $50 off so I knew it was worth a try)

While she was gone I explained to Callum that I was only trying to get them to come down on the price.

She came back and said the manager had said they could do it for $175. I agreed and I was now the best Dad in the world.
(I went from being the worst to being the best in about 30 Mins. Is this a world record???).

The next stop was Jo-Ann’s and heaven forbid they have got a scrapbooking sale on.
We have a receipt as long as our arm again and this time it’s only $50.

I’ve never seen the girls looking more pleased with themselves.
I had to go and spoil it by mentioning that had they not bought all that stuff earlier in the holiday they would have saved even more money. (me and my big mouth)

Tea next and, as it was Maddie’s choice, we went to the Golden Corral where we were all stuffed again for $42 plus tip.

Next we went back to the Hotel and we decided to start some packing so we could see if we could actually get all of our shopping into the 4 cases we brought with us. So far, so good –it all fitted in (just).

The 1 he bought in 2003 did go as hand luggage on an American Airlines flight but this time it went as checked luggage marked as fragile. It did survive the trip in one piece :cool1:

I'm surprised that you haven't had to buy more suitcases for all that scrapbooking stuff :rotfl: Your photos are great too

I cant believe Rip-Saw falls was a no go - This is my Fave ride!

love your reports Tony and pics, dreading and looking forward to my trip, dreading the scrapbooking side and what my DW will spend[she spends now and she doesnt even have to go out] and looking forward to an awesome time

Lovely report Tony.

I love Curious George's playground, me and the lads had great fun running around getting soaked. It was so hot it was a blessed relief to get wet. I loved squirting the kids when I could catch them out. :)
